"and on the heap it goes" ahahahahaha I know that feeling all too well.

Welp theres another beauty thats a result of hours of hard work built on months and months of practice and dediction. *throws over shoulder into trash*

you ever funk with something like this? I love my off camera lights but its definetly a process getting them placed and tuned each time (cause, why would I ever have a dedicated photo studio location? that picture is decieving, its only for nug shots, sometimes.) So I'm looking into alternative lighting that would be good for close up stuff that I dont need to do more than just clip on to the shoe each time.

I think "lume cube" is the hot hot hot brand to have right now (pushing ads HARD on IG) so I"m looking for the alternatives to that.

What kind of cameras are you running today, and sizes of lenses. Quite a few years ago I had a D90 which was pretty sweet at the time, a couple lenses I don't even recall what they were. Looking for some detail for nature oriented pics, along with quite a bit of canna photogery (I made up a word, hehe) I wanted to get into a bit of also.
The D90 is still sweet! In fact I'd like to find one on Ebay because it has a motor in it for the lens..........and I have 2 lenses that need that.
Currently I have a Nikon DX40 and D5100.........I use the DX40 alot..........both those can be had cheap if you shop. And most nikons have a shot clock and you can tell just how used they are by uploading a pic from the camera to a site where they will tell you what the shutter count is. And that matters because most of them have a normal duration or amount of shots they can take before service or replacement.

I might look into ring lights - they'd give a more even pattern of illumination, maybe - kind of flat lighting, which would be good for nugz

iPhone with flash during heavy downpour? I say iPhone because I haven't experienced Android with the ability to not fuck up focus on shots like this.

edit- for a second I thought you meant this was taken with a CT scanner ?
She got an android. Idk which model. Fuck it’d be be badass if she could CT scan that shot can you imagine? Probably see some shit we’ve never seen before lol

Dude them pixel phones. My parents both have pixel 3’s and they take super good pics like clear and detailed AF. I can only imagine the newer pixel phones. I thought my iPhone 12 was pretty good but a 5 year old pixel kills it. I have iPhone for other reasons but geez man them pixels handle it

Androids are fuckin' dope! IDK, I"ll have to grab my wifes iphone to compare, but the advanced options in the android photo program really allow you to treat it more like a camera with control over all your settings. I found out I can adjust the frame rate of videos and doubled it, took a real real crisp video yesterday riding through the trees. I'll use that to take some nug shots today and show ya what I mean.

Damn, that's badass, got me rethinking my setup now. ?
The Moment lenses are really too expensive unless you're using them daily. There are really good cheaper versions.
I think the fisheye, macro, and tele are indispensable.

I've seen some wild stuff from an old copier/scanner but it was too bulky for anything but novelty use.

I've used my wife's Pixel 5a a couple times but always end up reverting to the 3axl.

There's a big difference between vanilla Android Pixels and something like the Samsung which has more headroom as far as features and options. Samsungs rock. They allow for manipulation of aperture setting and shutter speed.
Open Camera on vanilla Android will come close but Pixels have fixed apertures so really you're just controlling shutter speed.

*looks at phone. Is samsung*

Ahhhh okay i was not aware of that. I was playing around taking ultra slow mo video and 8k video last night. This micro computer was worth it for the cost of the camera features and wifi abilities alone.
