You are giving me inspiration to try the strait coco again. I used strait coco the grow before last and had some issues with the grow that really had nothing to do with the strait coco. More of a learning curve with a blumat system i tried running. Just got a little spooked and went back to a 50/50 mix with perlite. Kinda thinking i would like to run the strait coco again. I have been using strait coco on seedlings for a good while. Perlite is a pain when trying to be stealth. Strait coco would be easier to blend into the landscaping.

I like perlite, just hate rinsing that dusty ass shit. I've had an unopened bag sitting on my shelf for a year tempting me to use it... but I just can't bring myself to it.

Path of least resistance lol

Good morning. Had some extra Wifi 43 x Aliendog Cherry sitting around so I decided to press for some rosin. Got a nice little return of some terpy oil and I'm enjoying some as I type this update.

Awesome ricky! Some nice lookin' rosin too man! What press you using? time/temp/bagsize? if you dont mind me asking.:) great color, consistency.

Thanks man. The press is a Dake B-10 desktop press. The plates are 3'' x 5'' low temp plates brand. I use a 2'' x 4'' pre-press w/ 2'' x 4'' bags, 90 microns or so, double bagged.
Temperature kept at 90 celsius / 194 Fahrenheit - press time for roughly 2 minutes.

It buttered up the next day in my jar, into little crumbles. The picture I took was shortly after pressing.

Nice set-up there! Both the Dake and the plates. This from pressing flower or hash? Never doubled bags on flower (only hash, I did a 120 inside 90 outside, and the 2x4), if thats flower I might try it...I love experimenting.....you never know when you will discover something along the way:)

Was from pressing flower. Only reason I double bagged was because I'm using cheap bags I got from DHGATE. They're a bit short so I double bag to keep any product from escaping out of the end during the press.

What kind of press / plates do you use?

Gotcha. Dabpress 10ton Driptech 3x5 plates, run some double pucks. Mostly use the press club bags, got a couple of their golden tickets i've never used. I use the dabpress 30mm and 40mm cylinders bottle-tech style. rectangular mold I use for hash.

Just got back from a little mini trip to get out of the house for a bit. Brought the wife, daughter, and dog to play around in the woods. Stopped and picked up beer on the way home. Happy to see they had one of my favorites in stock. Belching Beaver's Peanut Butter Milk Stout. I had to crack one open as soon as we got home. If you put any other stout or porter in front of me I'll probably gag. But Belching Beaver makes a great PBMS.

Also snagged a pack of their Mosiac Double IPA which is more up my alley.

You mentioned a sleep system for backpacking a few pages back. Just got a new thermarest pad to replace a leaky big agnes qcore
Its pretty noisy but one of the better insulating ones I found.

Also a buddy of mine has a blanket like what your buddy was raving about, only my buddy didnt like how cold his ass was. Said every time he moved just let cold air in. It would probably be ok at warmer temps but I hate being cold.

I'm in the process of making fairly sizable changes to the grow room. I didn't document this last run because the last 5-6 months have been pretty wild. I had a close family member pass away and I was tasked with organizing their affairs and dealing with the estate... It has been very time consuming. On top of that covid has only slowed things down, especially on the legal side of things such as trying to get titles transferred and what not... it's been monotonous to say the least. But I'm getting past that and looking at the bright side of things.

I'm about to start another run of plants in the next week. This past run was alright, I ran a flood & drain in coco 2 gallon pots. Ended up encountering some fungus gnats towards mid-flower so I decided to part ways with coco.

Moving forward I'll be running rockwool blocks with drippers, drain to waste style. I picked up some 6x6x6 hugo blocks, some 1.5x1.5 starter plugs and some Floreflex drip trays that are made for the hugo blocks. I'll be repurposing my existing dripper system to work with the Floraflex trays.

Another big change is the reservoir. I'm replacing the 27 gallon HDX tub that sits underneath the table to a 30 gallon plastic barrel that will sit outside the tent. Doing this will allow me to lower the flood table another ft, gaining valuable vertical real estate. To deal with runoff water I'll have a 2 gallon bucket (9'' tall) sitting underneath the table with a submersible water condensate pump inside. This pump will move water about 20 ft to the closest sink so I don't have to manually empty the run off bucket. It has an internal float switch so it turns on/off on its own. It was pricey but hopefully a game changer.

I'm really trying to automate things as much as possible and I think this is a step in the right direction. The big thing is making sure I get dialed in with using rockwool. My only expierience with rockwool was the plugs I used for clones a long time ago. If anybody has tips for rockwool feel free to chime in.
