So for me...I clean all my bowls weekly, but my grinder has been another story. Wish I took pics...it was so nasty that it barely worked it was so caked with resin and filth...I just used it for the first time again clean and am dumbfounded at how stupid lazy I have been about a simple task...very unlike me...but then again...not!

You've inspired me. I've got 3 bowls for my bong

All of them filthy. About every 2-3 months I'll soak them in rubbing alcohol over night and I'm gonna do tonight. It really needs to be done every week?

basically every bong bowl of consumption I will change bongs water with some fresh water and do a triple rinse of water before using ( using hot first) . does anyone notice bong water smells like potato water ? Even after one bowl the water is gross so people that wait for days… diff folks



every few days-7days/week at least i do a hot water purge first than shake the bong for a few minutes with iso and Epsom than let sit overnight alcohol + Epsom salt bath. Next day I will shake it for a few minutes and than rinse a few times to guratee no Epsom and misc.



For cleaning the bowl, I will empty it if needed and than set it back in the bong and burn and inhale the bong like normal and quickly exhale the gross oil smoke.If u aren’t try it and see how much rosin smoke u get and how the airflow gets decreased otherwise. than I use a cotton tip and clean the inner bottom tube. i rather just use a paper towel for top bowl since cotton tips would take way more and more time.

I used to leave clogged bowls and wonder why does my bowl seem clogged or taste bad even thou everything thing is clean. I was forgetting the screen lol

I just cleaned my grinder last week!

Put it in tupperware container with 90% alcohol and salt. Shook that bad boy for 10-15 minutes then scrubbed with qtips. Shake shake shake 1 more time and bam, brand new grinder.

Anytime I notice the kief isn’t collecting like it should it’s time for a clean. Rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush just for the grinder and it’s back to new

I don’t clean until it’s too clogged to smoke. If the bowl clogs push it through. If the down stem clogs push it through (I have a super sized paper clip for these) and if the water gets so dirty you can’t pull it without a second hit it’s time to clean lol

never cleaned my grinder it’s probably 4 years old and doesn’t collect keif anymore but it’s fine it goes into the bowl right

Exactly 100% how I did it...and you are right...my screen was so clogged no kief it kept smearing on everything and building up...the grinder actually works now....yes @Desert Rose it was just like yours was...clean it, you will be happy ya did...at least I was.

I only use glassware for smoking, it shows the grunge, no faking that. I keep a tall thin plastic pill bottle [6" tall 1 1/4" diameter] filled with 99% isopropyl for cleaning. Plenty of smoking devices handy at all time so, pipe gets grungy, empty the bowl and sink it. 99% iso really kicks ass, by the next day 1 pass with a cotton swab and good. That next bowl is always so tasty. If only I had a butler to clean my pipes, I'd smoke a fresh pipe with every reload! I don't have 'butler money' and my wife doesn't smoke, so it will remain as it was

Back when I was collecting functional glass art, iso + salt baths were a daily occurrence. And only distilled water for taking rips.

But times have changed, and the Dr. Dabber Switch arriving here next week has a self-cleaning cycle.

Life's too short for all the fussiness.

I just use my pipe washer add detergent run it for a 5 minute cycle rinse them out and they are like brand new one of my better investments for sure

For my bongs/percs, I run hot water through until warm to the touch, then dump the water and add 99% iso and some salt and shake the shit out of them. Then I add some hot water(about twice the amount of iso) to the iso/salt mix and shake some more. Adding the water seems to increase the ability to carry the nasty shit. Dump that and then rinse with a little more warm water and it's done.


Once a month or so I'll use an industrial version of CLR, well diluted, and get rid of the calcium build up from the tap water I use and the result is glass that looks brand new.

I hear ya! My solution to that was to buy medium sized chillums which fit about 1/2" below the top of my prescription pill bottles. I put a cotton ball in the bottom and drop in a thin wooden rod cut to fit [my poker], when the cap goes on the glass slightly compresses the cotton ball. No rattle, no smell

Ya this is called kushmore cleaning whatever lol it’s from smokecartel.com you can just get a jewelry cleaner and than order there cleaner someone else on here did that and said it worked good
