I never got to correspond with the man,
But he was my inspiration for growing, and in turn led me here.
A good friend let me go through his seed library and pick some out while I was purchasing
everything, I needed to start my first grow.
He recommended and gave me his last DDS seed.
I was researching them which, led me to his RIU forum.
I had only glanced at a couple of other growers forums, but did not like the way some people treated each other.
I started reading his forum, and realized the " Spread the love", was his way of life, and not just a slogan.
The mman's compassion ,was palpable in his actions and words,
along with many of the members.
His DDS was the first seed I ever started, once it got going , I was hooked,
By the time I harvested her, there was no way, I would stop.
I finished reading the forum about mid grow, and now had many members i respected.
Most were gone by the time I caught up, and looking into where? led me here.
I believe being, kind, Compassionate and Respectful , was, and will always be, "Useful "

This is sad, sad news. From all that I've read of him, he seemed like a very kind hearted and generous man. I was looking forward to him releasing some new stuff.. Last I heard what he had planned next was very intriguing. I'm really glad I bought some second hand packs from Red now... May Useful rest easy.

Thankful to have worked on and helped out with a few things for him and the community. His attitude was contagious and we definitely need more of it.
Disappointed i didn’t get to meet up with him after he moved back home. We miss you greatly Useful and you shall live forever in our gardens.

I've posted this before, but it takes on new meaning after learning of this revolting development.
I was gifted a Star Dawg F3 preservation pack from Useful himself on another forum. I vowed to honor the label, to preserve. I did my best, with the little experience I had.
I eventually ran the pack, and haphazardly created a batch of F4, then a subsequent batch of F5. I still hold hundreds of these progeny, in bean form.
These beans, are designated as gift only, in perpetuity.

Another thing worth mentioning, if anyone is holding a pack of his Bag of Oranges S1, those need to be going into a preservation project post haste.

My best run ever had some of his stuff. Double dip strawberry and orange cookie diesel. Unforgettable just like the man himself! I still run orange cookie crosses bc they are some of my favs.
And last year or so he released some cool preservation type work. Dream beaver, black lime, I just missed the mothers milks f2 at jbc...Caught sleepin'

I have a pack of BOO I didn't realize they were S1s. I already planned on preserving all of the useful gear I have before this news. I planned on popping the choc d s1s I have soon to boot with the intention to preserve and hunt some more in the future.
They dont make em like Useful anymore. He was a genuinely great person with an amazing knack for creating fire genetics without the greed and drama that is so commonplace in the seed biz these days. I was first a fan of his work and was fortunate enough to do testing for him which then evolved into a friendship over the years.
When many others would reject the idea for worry of it effecting their own gains, he without any hesitation reached out to help me get my own seed venture going in total contrast to what may be in his own best interest as a breeder. This single deed speaks volumes about the mans character. His unwavering kindness, charity work, willingness to help, and distaste for drama are just a small portion of great attributes found in Useful. Many could stand to model their existence the same. I respected this man and his work greatly. He will be missed dearly by many.

These things ought not be lost.
Man was an absolute legend and will be missed by the community immensely. Ive had a tough time even thinking of anything to say about his passing. Nothing really seems to do justice to how much he impacted my growing journey, and from the comments Ive seen here and on RIU its clear I was one amongst many. RIP Useful.

Very sad news to hear ?. Like many others have said, he kinda inspired me as well. I had the opportunity to communicate with him several times throughout the past few years and always a very helpful and generous person. He truly will be missed for all he did for the community. RIP brother?
