I am getting some browning out on TTLT pistils. My sprayer was sticking on, went to clean it and the trigger piece is busted. Glued it up, hope it holds for a bit.

Thrip damage appears to have stopped.

Sprayed Vinerate yesterday, gonna give a drench of that at the next watering, gw x cnc and veg will get another round of knockout sprays this week TTLT will get a shot of grandevo later this week, then roll into a 7 day rotation with vinerate.

A couple rounds of rotating nasties, permethrin, spino, pyrethrin. I think the surfactants and other adjuvants in the pyrethrin cost me 2 Chocolate Fire Cookies seedlings, one is dead anyway and the other had some pretty bad damage. 2 spino soil treatments and one vinerate, when I scoped the only pot with activty was the TTLT and if I am id'ing correctly all I saw was a few soil mites and a nematode. This was before the 2nd spino tx, gonna check again later today.

Switched to week 2 of the Phylloscape program - Boron and Calcium removed, Iron bumped from 1 to 1.75 ml/L, Cu from 0.125 to 0.25 ml/L, no liquid N or P, Mg and K instead. Still used the powdered N (which I think is real similar to Ferti-Nitro Plus if not actually) and added kelp.

Other than the rotating ingredients N and Fe are really the only ingredients that vary from stage to stage. Mg not being used in veg (by their feed chart) is another one.

I am getting away from using straight RO water and trying to always have something in there. Monthly TM-7 and fertigation (super k fulvate / Ferti nitro) weekly photosynthesis plus and probably vinerate. The gaps will get taken by WCa (5-10ml/gal) or epsom (1/4 t/gal) whichever is not being fed by foliar that week.

Finding out the ac infinity airlift t10 fan may not work in the greenhouse as even tjough their website states operational temp range of 0-158F it was reading over 160 when the temp was actually 22F causing high temp to false activate. Correspondence with customer service indicates different -

"Unfortunately, our units are not designed for extreme temperature applications. We have noticed that the Sensor Probe will read inaccurate temperatures outside of 32-140 degrees. Sadly, if your space is outside of this range, we would not recommend using the unit as this will cause damaging effects similar to what you are seeing."

They have offered to assist with returning the unit for a full refund.

I don't know if they were aware of the discrepancy but did include screen shot and link to the info on their website. This shit happens to every company can't necissarily judge them for it but its how they respond that is most important. I expect a response acknowleding the discrepancy and for them to correct it. If they will pay for shipping I'll probably return the unit otherwise plants don't generaly do well below 32 anyway.

GG4S1 x Tomahawk getting ready to bust open.
20211126_163032.jpg
Hope to harvest some pollen too but don't want to fully seed out the gw x CnC and TTLT (only 4.5 weeks left on it anyway) so we'll see what I get.

Going to change things up a bit, ordered a grasaroots 4 x 4 and bluemat bluesoak kit. Plan is to get it loaded and a cover crop / companion plants / polycrop going before Christmas. The GW x CnC should be ready to come down around new years, then I'll transplant something like 12 - 16 plants to the 4 x 4, veg a couple weeks depending on size and flip. This will leave the tent open for the Nepal Highland preservation run for which the beans will be getting wet shortly.

Made some aloe powder for the first time today.

The whole process took a couple days, I had an aloe plant that kept falling over and given there are 6 others in the house I decided I didn't want to water it anymore.

Skinning the meat was tough until I figured out on the last couple leaves to just cut the leaf in half and smoosh it out with my thumb, using the nail to scrape the meat.

Ended up with about a half an inch of goop in a 13 x 9 pan. Placed in oven on warm (145F) for 8-10 hours. Didn't leave it running overnight and ran it for a few more hours this morning.

Ended with about 1tsp powder.

After 2 weeks of diligently performing the foliar side by side I f'd up and sprayed one of the controls (GG4s1 x Tomahawk) today. Down to the HoneySundae for direct comparisons.

First impressions are its a lot of work spraying every other day for feed and weekly ipm. Even with the frequent spraying I guesstimate this kit would last me at least 3-4 runs. Iron will be the first liquid to run out and the N amino powder would probably be close depending where the dose is set within their range. I think the dose could probably be cut in half specially in my situation where I am probably over applying in such a small area to begin with.

I am forming the opinion the frequent foliar applications are a benifit to the plant almost moreso than the materials/ingredients themselves. If one stays within reasonable doses of things like yucca, aloe, coconut, kelp, Si, etc. I think the benefit from that approach vs. the effort of this "custom" kit is probably a better approach for me even though I love to tinker, especially because I love to tinker...

Started week 3 flower regimen today and after this week I am probably going to roll back to week 2+ Veg program for a bit since that is where most of my plants are. I am also going to stick at the lower range for N powder use as the week 2 veg is real similar to week 8 flower, W2 veg has more N, Ca and Fe.

So did a bunch of leaf scoping on those clones, and found nothing on them except some foliar residues from me and likely you too. Lol.
Checked out the flower room as well while I had the stuff out. Nothing on them showing either.
However when I scoped the soil of the clones this is what I found, not so cute little baby thrips.
There's two of them in the pic, had to check a fair number of spots, but there they were.

Mixed up a strong bottle of the Final Stop, and hosed them down working it under all the leaves. Soaked it all good.
Sprayed the soil well like a drench too, super saturated with it. Then did a spinosad tx for the soil in addition to the hosing.
I'll look again tomorrow and see if there's any survivors.
I'll check out the veg room later when it's woken up, again just to be safe. Lol.
And if I find something, well I'll kill it too. ???
Old thread but that may be a Baby springtail?

What ever they were, pretty sure they're dead now. Lol. No signs of anything on them, or in the soil for a week or so now.
One more scope to be sure, but I think they're ready to go to the real veg room.
Then I'll clean that tent, and flip the boy Honey Sundae in it for pollen collection.

You know I'd apolgize profusely but you just say no worries mang.

99.5% they were thrips. I never saw any on the traps but the damag (spotted leaves) seems irrefutable.

Like you I am lookin for something that will make it my environment. 8k ft elevation, lat 39 and water falls from the sky in solid form, sleet, gropple, hail, snow, anything but rain.

Edit - I don't really have a plan...see greenhouse picks earlier in thread lol.

Lol, theres always a risk taking in clones, and I knew that beforehand.
Nothing bad on your part at all mang. ???
You did me a solid with them, your all good brotha. ???
Very excited with that male of the HS, such a fine chucking specimen imho.
He's so stinky, beefy, and well structured. A bit bushier than I'd like, but that's the only thing I dislike about him so far. Lol.
