What did you do today?

Supposed to go to the city today, but may have to postpone. We are currently experiencing the nasty phenomenon called freezing rain. It's warm enough up high for precipitation to form rain, but cold enough on the ground that it freezes when it hits. The roads are slicker than snot on a doorknob (don't recall where I heard that phrase, but it cracks me up). Most rural school buses have been canceled for the morning and recommendation is to stay off the roads if possible.
Hopefully things warm up or cool down enough for it to be safe to drive in a few hours.

My grandma used to have photo albums of newspaper clippings about my dad and his brother, mainly about their sports accomplishments. I'll always remember the one article from the local paper about my uncle hitting the ditch on the way home from a hockey game. He put on his skates, skated 7 miles on the highway to town to call a tow truck, then skated back to the car to wait for the tow.

Today...I went and got my 31 year olds Sentra. He is a good kid and found a good girl and they are getting married. Remember that time you got a new car and got lazy and didn't gear head for like 6 years. I hate being rushed for time so now that i have it I can treat it with some TLC. Lets lube all the hinges...change the BRAKE fluid (that is a service !)

I forgot how the fuck to do drum brakes..but my best bud in the universe is coming over to remind me tomorrow...and that dude likes a coma bud as much as me.

Who the hell uses drums !!!

Brakes are done on the front...did a tranny and oil service. Next is 2 rear wheel bearings and the drum brakes and its good for another year..with primo stoppers.

Imagine paying a monkey 130 an hour...my fat hands are STRONG...and i can make them fit...ask my wife :D

Smart like train...Strong like bull.

And to give this gift...of car repair..and if you want it son...the knowledge to not have to pay for brakes...suspension and Cv driveshafts...and that is 90 % of all car repairs today..motor craps out get a crate motor from Japan (drive a toyota).

Oh and Sunday its hash o rama day :D

PlumberSoCal

? Guy Fire-y ?
Screw that. I don't work on cars for a reason? I'm a plumber, not a mechanic. I can change out a tub/shower faucet in the wall in 2-3 hrs, took me all frickin day to change a thermostat in my truck. That was between bong rips so there was that but I can do that faucet 2 hrs between hits.

Picked up my truck from Pepboys today. Many Moe and Jackoff wanted 3k+ for head gaskets and water pump. I don't think so Tim. Took it to I Got A Guy Automotive, 2 blocks away. These guys started in 2018 after working together for Lexis for a decade. These guys are the ones you want working on your vehicle. Honest, up front and better yet while I was there a guy comes in selling Let's Go Brandon hats and sells 5. This be the place. Reserved a Uhall van for 3 days next week. Fun times.

Adding failing at computer know how to the what I did today list. Lmfao
@Dino Party I can change it back if you want. Lol
Look on the bright side; if computers still had floppy disk drives, you could take the metal top off, shave kitchen matches into the cotton part and use clear nail polish to put it back together and essentially read any file from it and burn it to the ground?

I do not recommend actually trying unless you're outside and trying to one up a scene from the movie Office Space cause the read head of a floppy drive has just enough heat to ignite the match stick shavings and, well, at least you smoke the computer out before it dies lol.

What I did today:

Taught an entire forum how to be banned forever from RadioShack lol.

Yeah, those limbs don't look much good for pushing water.
He looks kinda like an overweight skink.
Yeah he was paddling and going nowhere fast . Even if he made the edge those little wings aren’t going to haul him free . I have a family of them in my garden roaming around . They produced young in the spring . He’s a new addition .
That’s a fair observation an overweight Skink . They’re definitely not designed for speed . They will however rear up and defend similar to a snake and have decent jaw power but they’re not venomous ( Australian Blue Tongue Lizard ) 259475AC-5B96-4118-888E-3ADEAAB5558F.jpeg When you piss one off ?

Well shit, I'm smarter than I knew. :geek:;)
From the link:
Blue-tongued lizards are the largest members of the skink family.

( Australian Blue Tongue Lizard )

We had them(regular skinks) in our science class in junior high and I always thought they were cool.

Yep they definitely have all the characteristic looks of a Skink except maybe a wider girth . I’ll be working in the garden and I’ll here a rustling noise in the undergrowth. They’re foraging for Fruit , Snails etc . Whatever they can find

That's very cool. I love lizards, snakes, even spiders. I appreciate all the creepy-crawlies, even the ones that wish to devour me. :)

About all I have around here these days are birds, deer and coyotes. In the summer there are a few snakes, but cold-blooded critters generally don't thrive around here for some reason.

Same deal . Wifey keeps me in check or my yard would look like a zoo . I wanted to bring this little fella home when I plucked him off a highway several years ago . She gave me a reality check and obviously she was right . He’s much better off on the arid lands 4307742E-EBAB-4D6D-9E43-FA2DF76A9CE9.jpeg

I love wildlife. I've got a video somewhere of a blue belly lizard taking worms from my hand as well as sparrows doing the same?
That Alligator Lizard has some serious armour plated skin . Some great reptile pics . I’m big on Fauna as well . I get conflicted at times because I’d love to have a heap of Pets but the other half of me says leave them where their meant to live . I struggle with birds in cages . An aviary is somewhat better because at least they get to fly around but bird cages ………….. not for me
