And hold my beer, cuz I'm full throttle, no lift, zero prep. and it's already going as expected...... sideways!

the current stars of the show are from various failed sensi grows using in house genetics. i only know part of the story for them. F2 seed increase :D ? pheno hunt missed a male :D ? rodelization :D ? bad intake air filtration :/ ? really bad environment made a few nanners :/ ? she pulled out a mule dong and 'jaculated everywhere :( ?

i guess I'll have to be on my tip toes.

starting with one named farid. platinum garlic by in house genetics. i sifted through a pound and a half of super frosty foxtails from a machine trimmer, and scored 5 beans. looking at happy platinum garlic grows, it doesn't tend to foxtail, so i assume it had heat issues. all 5 were fully mature. i had no access to the finished product, so i have no idea of the seeds were evenly distributed. heat issues can also cause nanners. I'm thinking this one is hermed from heat stress. not good, but it can be dealt with. 5 of 5 popped, helmet head took one.

next up is one named Bassam. Bassam tipped me almost a half a pound of really funky platinum Kush breath from in house genetics over a few visits. said the whole grow was ruined and had seeds, and was heading to distillate. breaking all that down, i found ONE bud, with two very mature seeds located in super fat calyxs right next to the main big stem in all of that. the placement, maturity, and scarcity all point towards early pollination, hopefully a dioecious mating from a pheno hunt with regulars. both popped tails, but one stalled with a 2-3mm tap root.

last up is Omar. Omar had rainbow cookies by in house genetics. Omar was tight lipped as he finished up his first grow, but he handed me something to give feedback. they were small round buds of medium density, overdried and terp free. they were riddled with seeds, but not all fully mature, so i assume the pollination event was ongoing. i have floated 15 of these to get 4 sprouts. these give me the most concern for intersex issues. I'll be watching them carefully.

so where's the recklessness? why hold my beer?

i jumped on with no plan. no spot. no closet. no salt nutes. no organic soil cooking. no bokashi bucket. no real gear. just my ADHD, potentially herm bagseed, two security HID lamps, and a 2x2 corner in the basement.

i just swapped out the 150w hps for the 175wMH. i thought the spectrum was making things look sick, but no, I'm rocking nutritionally vacant earthworm castings and sunshine 4. so they're hungry. and i got nothing to feed em.

I'm gonna go pimp my booty on 8 mile for some pure blend, calmag and liquid karma, brb

somebody is gonna call CPS(cannabis protective services) on my abuse.

this is more for data preservation, but thank you for looking at my chaos. if more eyes are looking at this, i might be shamed into cleaning my act up a little quicker.

I'll be posting some (embarassing) pics shortly.

How did that smell? I got some GMO from a dispensary a few years ago and got 30 seeds total (grabbed another ounce of shake after finding 20 in the first) and I love that stuff so much I cloned it lol. I got lucky with a Chem D clone too and got seeds of that. I legit had like a qp of that never see a jar or bag.

Head down 94 East a few more exits and grab me some Popeye's, and I'll take butt stuff off the menu :)

dear associate, i would request to negotiate an examination of your genetics, by raising the stakes to chicken shack with broasted potato wedges, making this the first time in history, that fried chicken was bartered for smelling 4 week old Cheetos and rubbing dead whabbits.

my old bird say i need to be careful, this sounds like some Norman Bates shit!

i agree, and it's exciting!

just kids now, so they smell planty. but the source bud was gassy/garlic. a fraction of GMO, garlic sherbet, or garlic breath 2.0. View attachment 170061 i did get some from a recent run. nice density. occasional purpling. no beans. two of four seemed to have trichomes on the first single finger leaves, if that's indicative of anything. View attachment 170060

Gassy and Garlic sounds lovely :)

LOL, I mean if you're already on 8 Mile, it's like one or two exits and you can see a Popeye's right on the side of the freeway.

The Cheetos are interesting already, as they have a straight up Cheese and Corn aroma that makes them smell essentially like their namesake, but I know it's likely to change, as Cheese crosses generally do that a lot through their life. The Dead Whabbits I haven't gotten a goo sniff of yet, because by the time I had that one outside, the pollen and dry air had rendered my smell as muted at best sadly. So I'll have to check that one after.

Not gonna lie; The idea of dressing up like Elmer Fudd and taking a picture with a Shotgun and me standing over a Cheese Wheel has popped up from time to time haha. I have some pretty big expectations on the Dead Whabbits though, as the I think the genetic lineage of it is impressive. Cheetos being Sour Diesel X Exodus Cheese, and then that being a parent to the Whabbits with Carcuss Skunk in there.... I'm gonna end up drooling thinking about it haha.

There's a decent scent coming from the garden already, and the UK Cheese has a VERY surprising Cheese thing in it currently that I'm hoping stays that way. Chemdog 4 has a gassy / oil like scent reminiscent of Motor Breath. The Alpha Skunk Cheese out there.... When I put her out, it was Cat Piss and Cheese... The stem on her is impressive too and I can't wait to get nose hairs stuck to her buds.

Norman Bates?? I don't have a Motel....

peat.

it's new to me. lots of coir. a bit of low low tech organic (accidental compost and dog shit). but peat? well, i guess my vegetable and annual seedlings came in that stuff, but I've never played with it.

it stinks. I've got nine solo cups, with about 7oz media each. 3:1 sunshine 4 and ewc. The basement is thick with the fog of peat, and tendrils of peaty mustiness creep from the ductwork upstairs.

it's acidic. amending media to combat acidity is a new one, so I'm learning how to arm myself with lime. if peat needs liming, the manufacturers should do that. 1 teaspoon to ½ cup per gallon is the application window that i find, with 1 tablespoon per gallon being the most common. box stores sell granules. hardware store sells powdered and hydrated lime.

the dr. earth is cooking. i shut down the HID and gave them some 5k LEDs at lower wattage, to bring their feeding to a halt until they have food.

Well, having a grow journal helps :) you can look back to see what worked best, and go for that. You grab that Popeye's yet? Lol.

Currently looking at the bright side of all the smoke in the air; not only will rain add some microscopic potash to my soil, the smoke makes it look like ...well it's pretty normal for around here anyway lol

my package from kropduster is finally in my hands! everything came intact, thanks to his stealth shipping. if i remember correctly, it was an 8 day trip, with most of that time sitting at the border.

I got everything i ordered, plus a freebie pack, and the free gift/stealth item. i'm sorry things are a bit vague, but the stealth item is best left unmentioned, and i assure y'all i got more seeds on each pack than i ordered. but I've dealt with the public, and i know for every one thing you do to try and be fair to one person, makes two others feel left out. i don't want anybody to feel left out.

You ain't kidding about the particulates in the air. making for some gorgeous evenings. this was Thursday night at the B-ham country club as i was putting my plumbing tools away. im not following the news, so i asked the old bird if another volcano erupted.

What's your plans with the Road Kills ???
once i get my chakras in a horticulturally benevolent alignment, i planned on setting the RKS inside a soil ecosystem chock full of fungal hyphae and bacteria going to town on a sulphurous buffet in trade for thiols. i hope to have so many thiols, that there's no room for terpenes :D

the cambodian roadkill was the freebie pack. kinda tough to dig up info on Cambodian. it seems to range from a 60 day line that reeferman claims he worked for over 20 years with tight nugs, to landrace collections with wispy gossamer flowers that mature in geological timescales. but a few people believe that Cambodian weed was what people had when they had 'thai' during 'nam. if this is true, in really really excited for this, 80s skunk meets 70s Thai? sounds like it might have some of what is missing and some novel terps.

if I'm lucky, kropduster will fill me in.
@kropduster can you tell about your breeders and selection here, and what you saw and were looking for? structure, flowering times, aromas, rooting ability, color, etc?

anomalies:
2 bolted hard as sprouts
the two non-bolting seedlings show possible self termination of the axial bud. one looks as it may have a miniscule terminal bud. history has shown me that runts, gimps and mutants often show gratuitous appreciation when they avoid being culled.

Oh good!! From the sounds of it you're going in the right direction with that :) Shit with Summer coming I may be able to smell it! Haha!

Cambodian I would suspect is a pure Landrace, given the Jungle Climate, but I'm not aware of that particular one wither so I'll wait on Kropduster to fill it in :)

I think I have a Soundtrack ready for that one though:

The Cambodian was a true landrace not a worked on strain from some other breeder. It was similar to a thai but the bud structure was way tighter. Thai has a true sativa bud structure and Cambodian has more dense sativa type buds. The Cambodian strain has a phenol smell that gets earthy as the flowering process goes on. Here is a Cambodian Mother I used for the Cambodian RoadKill. I had a few females to choose from. You asked why I picked what I picked. This female was the shortest and had the least distance between nodes. She has a dense bud formation.

Now I am currently growing out some Cambodian Roadkill and she is getting a really nice stank on. It's a sour rank. The buds are stacked and dense. A sativa style bud in an indica layout. She was put under 12/12 for sexing then reversed back to 18=6 then back into 12/12 that's why you'll see single re-veg leaf pattern on her.
20230610_170533.jpg 20230610_170541.jpg
The male RKS was chosen from several. He had the best overall plant layout and some smell to him. I also look for any tricomes that form on the male pollen sacks.

they say that the fastest way to get a correct answer, is to post the wrong info on the Internet.

let's test that out!

and if anyone finds this through a search engine, make sure you see how it turned out. this might fail!

i added Dr earth (¼pkg, one cup) and dolomite lime at 1 cup to a 5 gallon bucket of media (3:1 sunshine 4 and ewc), and made a slurry and broke down the lime pellets on June 9th. i wanted to accelerate the microbes, so i put it in a trash bag, and put it in the old lady's van.

transplanted 4 platinum garlic on the 13th, and THEN read the WHOLE bag. on the front it says it's for 4 five gallon buckets, but on the back (yeah, sideways, remember? you thought i read front and back, lol) it says to feed it gradually.

and then i started thinking about the lime. it's probably pelletized so it doesn't hit all at once, so strike two?

the four i transplanted are telling me they love it so far.

so far.......
