Hey everybody. I'm MTR and I suck at computers. Guess I'm polite, white trash and a small time hobby gardener/experimentalist who's got a couple grows under his belt. Disabled USAF vet and a grateful med patient in 3 states, legal cultivator in 2... LOL.

What brought me to pH was researching different chuckers and seed vendors. Checking reps and reviews, this place looked to be the best, the most humble. I like that. I never joined forums before, as I'm more of a grower than a shower, LOL but I've always been a good kind of envious to the good guys who showcase their talents and help others learn their way. Good information helps everyone.

Myself, I try to focus on quality first with efficiency and stealth vying for a close second. I've never grown in anything larger than 2 gal pots or used bulbs brighter than 600w. As you can hopefully see, if I post this right, I prefer and practice the SOG method shown below. In my limited experience and most humble opinion, it's the most efficient indoor technique.

This garden is a few years ago, kinda sloppy cause the other side was still under construction. I cobbled this room together in the basement of a rental. One side consisted of two Hortilux 600w sodiums in Super Sun 2's with e-ballasts wired 240v using a CAP MLC 4X. It was gassed via a GreenAir CDDS-2 fuzzy logic controller. The roughly 10x10 space was cooled with an $99 Frigidaire 5000 btu window shaker. Keep in mind this was a Michigan basement so only 2-3 lights could run in the summer but 4 in winter. I used a Frigidaire dehumidifier with the hose attachment in a 5gal bucket so I didn't have to drain the res all the time. I grew 16 two gallon pots per 3x3 table, drain to waste. Feed Feed Flush. Repeat. This particular grow, in one table I experimented with 25 smaller square pots which worked very well, however I have a 4 part Super Sexy Soil mix that just sucks to mix for 25 pots. I went back to 16 after. What can I say?.. It's easier to be lazy.

Even though this was an experiment and semi perpetual, both tables produced 3.3 units under 1200w. I was pretty proud of that. You can do the math on 2400w.

Lots of ways to do it. This is mine. Always open to improvements. Hopefully this didn't look like a "humble brag" as the kids call it.

Just know I look forward to interacting with you guys.

Real quick... Big thanks to the DCSE crew for their repeatedly impeccable service and selection. Respect to the chuckers putting in the work, especially the guys who create and KEEP good stuff affordable, namely Brisco, Useful, Hazeman and the recently departed BOG. I can't wait to illustrate these guys efforts. Perhaps you'll look forward to seeing them grown humbly by the manthatreeks.

Wow, I feel so emotional right now. Anybody got a cranberry juice?

Talk about bad timing - I'm just about to jack up prices. It gets lonely down here in the bargain bin.

Just kidding ! ;)

That's a great intro, amigo. Welcome aboard. I look forward to the illustrations.

Thanks fellas. I'm feelin' the feels.

I gotta give 100% love to the plant there. That strain was called Afghani Mango and she was my Holy Grail. She came to me in '09 by way by of some heads leaving Meigs co Ohio for a full time outdoor venture in the hills of Northern California. That plant was an absolute diamond. First time I grew her I did so under a row of 3 Super Suns over 3 3x3's. I used Humboldt Nutrients and shitloads of the tea we brewed in shop. Its the first time I saw the benefits of beneficials and Co2 used together. Produced huge and fast. More than a zip and a half per with a week veg and 70 days, in a 2 gallon pot! and the quality, nobody got tired of it.

As everybody says, "I've held plenty of legit strains", even had all three Bubbas at one time. Wont go into those but the Mango was just an absolute diamond. Nothing else I ever grew was as willing to produce reliably THAT amount of THAT quality medicine, for the set up I was running. Its hard to get away from that.

I love gardening IMG_0713.JPG IMG_0707.JPG Here's some more to look at while I learn to quote. IMG_0727.JPG

Thank you man, cool to see you on my first post! Ask and you shall receive. Kelly Maxwell with freebie Cobs Copper Candy on deck. Cant tell you how happy I was about that. I'm hoping for a real stinker! Pics soon. Southern oranges, Citrus Blast, Mo' Swayze and F2's in the vault. Needless to say you got my attention, of course I'm a bargain bin hunter anyway! This is pHenohunter after all, so Kmax and CCC might be accompanied be some Mikado and Lifesaver.

Again guys, thanks for the kind words and welcoming. I'll be a little slow with the quotes and fist bumps till I get some practice.

For the any new guys reading and those that complimented my garden, this set up is old and gone, but the concept is very simple. Sea of Green is about short veg, square foot gardening, and as MTRainDog pointed out, I used flood tables on a light slant as giant saucers that drain to waste. Easy feeding from a rolling chair and a rolling 20 gal Brute can with a sweet Dramm water wand to reach the girls in the back. I think I learned this technique watching an old CANNA promo dvd I got from the grow shop. Wow, that's been a while ago. Anyway, it works great for bad backs and unlike SCROG, doesn't lock the plants down allowing for routine maintenance. If you're new, or old and still using individual saucers that spill over and make messes on your floor or tent, the flood and drain table is the ticket. Keep in mind, all of this can be downsized.

Man I'm fried. I do hope this came off as helpful, as intended and not in any other way. A dialed in SOG grow can be relatively low maintenance while producing great gram per watt ratios at the same time.

I appreciate the support and good words for DCSE and Brisco's. Cob's CC has had several fine grows documented, but a run with Kelly is long due. Expectations are ....what's the word .... high.
