Well, once you eventually visit, you'll have a few more of those land based catches :) My spot isn't super deep in the woods, but deep enough that you can count on one hand the number of people you're likely to hear around you. There's a park behind the spot, but, the brush overgrows this one area, and you basically walk into the brush REALLY slow, because you can't see, until your foot feels a drop, and then you "step down" onto a smaller platform of sand and dirt to sit down. The river is right there, you just can't see it from my spot is all :)

Winter is just about done. Last blast of cold will be over this week (-31 tomorrow night) and then it all trends up toward Spring. :)

There's lots of ice left, so I'll be going hard until the end of March when the season closes. The big hope, as always, is that there is a minimal gap between April 1 and when the river thaws.

A nice thing about being out here is that it's easy to fill any down time with hiking and exploring new areas. I always enjoy hiking but when fishing is an option, fishing usually wins. ;)
