Last nights little effort . Quiet by the bays standards but still very grateful to get a nice feed of King George Whiting ( closest ) and Australian herring or Tommy Ruff depending on which state you live in . Western Australia usually have to give fish a different name because it’s what WA does 🤪.

Those Rays are incredible. Hope you get to see one some day As you'd say "hand feed them Prawns" as they will actually do that with humans. Also, if you catch one, be careful LOL. If you can, just flip him over; Rays are susceptible to Tonic Immobility, like a Shark or Sturgeon would be, so they kind of "nap" while they're upside down. Then again you are in Aussie land so, right side up maybe ?

I have a Reel designed to get a Sailfish, if I ever get the chance. Not that the Reel could handle one that size, it's only got 18 pounds of Drag, but it'll engage at high speed like that LOL.

I just looked up Steelhead for speed as they can make some screaming runs surf fishing and my original guess before looking it up was 30 mph.
What I found said they could go 35 mph. That's right up there with bone fish. I love going toe to toe with steelies in streams and rivers, but the
crowds can be annoying at times. However, fishing in the surf with the solitude and serenity can be much more soul filling fun.

I’m away at work but the wife is holding up our end getting up early for a nice feed of Herring off our local smaller jetty . Makes me very proud this women . She’s still learning to fillet but is definitely on the right path . This little fella was watching on for some time so she threw him/her? A feed and it was readily accepted off the top of the water .

My big Halibut from 2022, we couldn’t get a good weight cuz the tail was on the ground, but 90+(I weigh 250 in this pic😳) Then some other’s from the same trip. I go over and stay with my X and her husband on the Puget Sound regularly, and we go up and fish the Neah Bay area. Great people, they treat me like a king.

A few more smalls and salmon, Coho to be more specific.

Don’t worry , I also WTF as well when I noticed the size range . I got a feeling the 8XL might equate to a normal 4XL . I’ll be checking the scale size before I order .
