Ya spraying sucks...Start up that indoor grow tho and you'll make it a habit without fail no doubt..Once them mites take up grip and call it home you will lose plants...All of them actually ...And very quickly...I've yet to see ladybugs clear a infested area...They are only good if pressure is extremely low to begin with and a slight preventative sadly...Indoor mites with zero pressure from natural enemies will very quickly turn a lovely situation into a total fail in what seems a blink of the eye as I've learned over and over.
Oh I've seen that happen before, as the Father in law has been doing indoor for a while and gets them a lot.

I also feel like the strains can play a roll too, as my experience, though mainly outdoors I admit, has been watching as a Bubblegum clone was attacked by every bug you can imagine, and yet the Blue Cheese by it, gets some Beetle damage at most Northside.

Now I've also seen him take clones from a mite infested plant and then stick Blue Cheese clones right next to them (not my idea) and as the clones suffered, eventually the mites did kill the Blue Cheese too, but it was also the last thing to die.

I hear Terpinolene is a natural pest deterrent and strains with high levels of it may fair better, but at the end of the day, I'd take all the advice here, and load the tent with Ladybugs, and at the first sign of mites, spray them. I understand those Ladybugs won't take care of all of it, though they do help if you get them in at the first sign, and Green Clean shouldn't affect them as they aren't soft bodied, but I do know it's no guarantee as well.

Though here in Michigan I do have options; open the tent and let that cold air in and they'll slow down at least lol.

Some strains the bugs just seem to go to first for sure. The pheno of GG4 I have...*edit(Had) is/was a absolute magnet for mites..The cookies kush beside it can't find any with a scope..Sprayed that GG4 three days in a row it was so bad. Sometimes ya have to let shit go..Was hoping all the spray would kill the whole plant but it didn't so I had to step in..9000 lady bugs coming in hot on a low pressure situation I should be ok. Now to deal with humidity

Hope it helps you brother :)

Now, the humidity, is it cool enough to run a small heater ? That drops it down FAST. If it's not cool enough though, we use one of those floor units that's got a fan, AC, and Dry setting on it, and they work well in Summer, but this time of year the heaters usually take over.

Well while the lights are on I'm running between 50 and 56%. When the lights go out it's been high as 84% and usually stays about a 76% during dark periods..I pump air in so the best I can do is run a humidifier from where the air is coming from. Still struggle... Anything above 60% it gets hard for me to sleep

Ive come to the conclusion that many are content with "good enough".
Looks to be a tasty haul brother.

I don't like spraying my plants either but if I have to do it..... this week my pants got their very first squirts of Green Clean (October without a single spray? Shit I'll take it) but powdery mold was showing up and it had to be done.

I try to keep the garden an actual ecosystem; absorbing damage to some leaves from whatever is munching on them, and adding in Ladybugs and finding other predator insects that will tilt the odds, and letting nature do its thing.

Sometimes this works in a great way, and sometimes I'm cutting off entire branches because they got gross. But generally it is possible to find a good middle ground where I rarely have to spray, as long as I've got enough other bugs and critters helping out at least.

I can say I have not ever lost a plant to mites or mold, though as I said there's been a few branches I had to take out to minimize the destruction lol.

I may not like to spray, but I'm not against it either. This time of year bud rot is the main issue as it's usually too cold for insects.

Me either!

I believe we all hate spraying our plants but we hate having to share all our work with some fucking moth larva, aphids, spider mites, etc. I don't baby my plants for 4+ months to allow some no brained insects to outsmart me and make their home in my plants. I spray my plants with Jack's and bt and I still lose a few buds. I need to spray more often?end of rant.

You're killing it dude. Beautiful!
Thanks Plumber! I'm surprised how well the two big ones are doing. The dino party is taking exceptionally well and it's skunky enough to have me worried about attracting attention from thieves.

I think it's depression. He's not happy with having certain family on his SO's side move in and ever since he's just kinda "eff everything".
He's a decent grower and can read a plant pretty well though a lot of time he doesn't have the answer or it's the wrong one.

And yeah, I spray plant therapy early if I see something... the DTS appears to be a mite magnet... did something targeted washing and alcohol on the fans but

bt is an absolute must around here if you're running outdoor or you're going to suffer huge losses. Alternatively, inspect the plants every couple hours for eggs and hope you don't miss one(so far it's working).

They used to grow so much that any worm loss was negligible and I think that attitude has carried over even though he's growing smaller plants and staying in limit(6).

Thank you gentlemen, you guys rock!?

Where's the water coming from? Are your pots soaked?

I had a similar issue a few years ago and started wicking away excess water that would usually run through to the tray.

Now I just try to figure out how to have enough moisture in the medium after lights out until the watering at lights on which can be a challenge depending on what stage the plant is at.

Trying to be funny, not judging, I can’t grow outdoor and don’t have bugs indoors, so I really don’t know what y’all are up against. What I read, it’s horrible!
It's not so bad really; I'm mainly outdoor and grow enough in one season to last. Which is impressive given how much I smoke lol. Not even unusual for me to grind almost an ounce or a half ounce and it'll be gone in like a day or two

It can be a nightmare but what seems worse is getting bugs indoors. I don't know how to keep an indoor grow bug free without a decontamination chamber before entering?

There's a dude here that the Father in Law got some clones from last year, and I have to say I liked the way this dude did his shit with clones:

He dipped every clone before handing it to him, and that seemed to do pretty well as those ones were not an issue. He also is how we got Chem D so, I like the dude already even though I'm not sure who he is LOL. But, Chem D !!!

I believe it's just the natural climate..Today is 77% humidity...I try to only water just enough to keep them healthy...My dehumidifier just can't do it's job quick enough

We get a spike in the morning but unless it's close to rain which is rare these days it's probably not much to worry about. The spike is what gets most people especially outdoors. You can get a good buildup of morning dew, probably due to our proximity to the Sacramento Delta. One of the reasons I started putting a box fan on the plants, at least for the larger buds.
Indoor last year I was bagging my pots if they were still wet which helped lower the tent RH about 5% which is still better than nothing.
Now I rely primarily on good airflow, especially around the lower parts and I keep all my insides defo'd to let the breeze get in there.

Whiteflies and gnats are the worst around here. 'pillars if you aren't careful.
I started hanging the sticky fly strips around certain parts of my house because 2nd tent year[2015] I got a moth in the tent and it laid eggs.
I had a couple get in this year but a strategically placed strip next to a light in the living room usually gets them before they can work their way into the tent.

I'm probably worrying about nothing as I've never seen a plant show any sign of damage...No mildew or mold..I just been struggling a bit and I literally lose sleep when my plants are not rocking 100%

Indoor, I've never had a plant from seed get WPM, only clones. My first year, with PG&E shutting off power for extended periods plus the wife tripping the breaker my exhaust fan was on was enough to traumatize me for a lifetime. My airflow was shaky as hell too.
Regardless, any time I see 60%+ during lights out I can't help but obsess over it and hope like shit the airflow is on point. Only issue I've had since then is introducing infected plants into the room like a dumbass.

My main problem is my wife brings new house plants in every other day it seems.. Last night we had the big talk..New plants go straight to the sink and get a major shower...then they get sprayed for bugs before anything else..

And with that, this journal is closed afaic.
I'm embarking on a new "era" in life and will start a new thread in the upcoming days to document this stage in my life.
I miss my dog so much ✌️ ?

This baby finished strong!! (you will, too?)

Looking forward to following along when the fresh start kicks off.

Thanks man! Given what I was working with[Used Promix, Dr. Earth Tomato&Herb, EB Stone Ultrabloom + 2x compost tea] I think it and the PBB did exceptionally well, and again both came out of tiny 3" pots and went directly into bloom despite my wanting a short veg period.
I'm going to try and do an autopsy on the root mass and see what happened during the grow. I don't expect it filled out the pot and I'm sure burying it deep, with the lower branches in the medium helped it along quite a bit.
