Another Gummy Recipe. :D

This is a new one i have been tweaking from a recipe someone posted. This recipe makes 60 fat gummies 2.7ml of coconut oil each.

2 packs of jello or 6.5 oz of bulk 2kg (4.4 pounds) of jello is 15 CDN delivered from amazon (23 packs of jello)
No name sucks in flavor and...well everything...get the good stuff for the full cosby.
40 grams of gelatin (i buy it by the KG from amazon...platinum food grade gelatin
1 cup of water
2/3 cup of SAF coconut oil...or whatever.
1 rounded teaspoon of citric acid...more will really pucker you up. This is a preservative and i love some sour candy.
1 1/2 tsp of guar powder. This is a flavorless emulsifier. If you opt out of the lethicin you can not exceed 2/3 of a cup of coconut oil to water or you will get oily candy (Seperation past max absorption)

1 tsp of sunflower lethicin (soy will work but sunflower is better). This is optional.
What does it do? IT emulsifies and holds it together better. It is bitter. It effects your livers absorption ability and is good for your health and when i add it to gummies my eyes start to get stoned in about 10 minutes...without it the effect does take longer.

It is a preference thing...i make them both ways and they do taste better without the lethicin. With the lethicin i can usually take it to 1 cup of oil to 1 cup of water but they can turn out a little oily.

Dry ingredients...combine and mix well dry
jello, gelatin, guar gum, citric acid.
Other ingredients put in pot and get almost boiling
water
coconut oil
lethicin
and sometimes i add decarbed kief here too for added devestation.

Add the dry and stir it up. I use a whisk at first and then switch out for a silicone spatula.

Guar gum is a bit of a prick to combine so this is the crappy part...cook at almost boiling...dont boil it or they dont turn out so pretty, for 15 minutes...i take them to 20.

Then put them in molds.
I have seen it with corn syrup but i like the rubbery gummy texture better. its more like when you buy a bag of wine gums or mike and ikes ish.

Guar gum is a bit of a prick to combine so this is the crappy part...cook at almost boiling...dont boil it or they dont turn out so pretty, for 15 minutes...i take them to 20.

Then put them in molds. I use that sauce pot and free pour them but you can use a dropper...geeze i dont have time for that.

180 gummies
Giggling Grape SAF coco oil
Orange My God SAF coco oil that went back in for another infusion so its SAF to the power of 2
And Cherry Stunshine That coconut oil with 7 grams of decarbbed kief...

I think in honing in on it now..I would say sharp like a diamond but two of these and you are dull like a marshmellow....just about right.

if you have decarbbed weed my favorite way is to put the weed with the oil in a mason jar and lightly simmer it on the stove (in a water bath).

You can do it in a crock pot too. Same idea. Keep it hovering at low for about 90 minutes and it should be almost the same transfer as the Ardent. The infusion is pretty easy because the range of tolerable temps and times is VERY broad.

For a decarb though the machine is superior because of the environmental control and the brain in the machine that does the magic.

@Dino Party might have been where i got the recipe from.

just tweaking amounts to get the texture and flavor down.

Guar and citric acid are available at amazon and at 1tsp per batch they last a good while so its only an initial investment.4

And Guar is a more intuitive heat and mix thing than saying 15 minutes or whatever...you can see it change in colour and viscosity when it is just right...smell the difference...

Kind of like how you bring a sauce together with butter and it emulsifies just right and goes glossy.

These gummies batch 1 was 120 grams into 3 cups of oil...2/3 cup made that batch...then that went back in with 90 grams of decarbed buds to make the orange you glad you didnt make it 120 grams batch....then WTF lets kick it up a notch

BAM...thanks Emeril

Add 3500 MG of thc to the batch (60mg of thc per candy) and paint them cherry red.

At least i was smart enough to make that about 50% really sativa brain buster with a side of slay me down indica.

I dont know if i should shit or get off the pot...

:D

Zingers...coming in HOT....and it peaks in 1 hour i said 2 minutes ago and it would richter scale...

So maybe 2 is a good stop point......where is the fun in that ? I so rarely zing myself these days bring it on.

I don’t even like sugar based things but ever since I made 150 gummy bears , I have been eating 3-5 of them every 2-5 hours intill sleep . love them and I’m so glad I made a 4 oz of cannabis bud version so it won’t ever be hard vs the 1.5 oz and more work ( that was based on my coconut oil weight I bought vs original recipe )

anyways love em and they are my everyday rx lol

in the future I do think I will use Kief instead of small nugs because of flavor and increase of potency ( never been a fan of the green, who is? Lol)

Damn G! Helped my brother make this recipe. 1 oz of bud for 1 cup of oil. The extra water helped keep gummies soft too. Not bad flavor either.

But these bad boys were strong as funk! I ate 1 1/2 robots, the mold has 11 robots vs the bear mold which has 28 so 2x size of bears, and man it had me semi tripping. My bro ate 3 and was giggling his butt off.

I told him "if G says this recipe is hot, its hot!" Damn straight!

Thanks for sharing brother!

@thenotsoesoteric that is AWESOME!!

The ardent....so would you say its better than the other decarb methods you have tried?

:)

2 gummies say it is.
Its great. All I'll ever need for personal goodies. Handy dandy little thing.

My bro wanted to do a lot more bud at once so he bought a 10 quart instant pot pressure cooker. Can decarb 6 oz at once, then infuse 6 cups of oil using 16 oz jars. It is close to ardent easy.

Nothing funnier than when someone KNOWS what edibles do...and get stung. I do it a couple a times a week.

:D but i love it. Bend time and space....4 more gummies would a done it
I scoop a teaspoon of coco oil in my 4 cup thermos for work. I sip it for an hr. I like it boiling. Then I don't feel the need to burn one at lunch time. I have a very high tolerance 28g a week for years. It is something I enjoy with my coffee now. I have an acquired taste. Wuh oh. Grandpa wants chocolate. So I'm looking into it. I saw someone had small success. It was pretty runny looking. I think they wneny 5050 coco choco

I've made chocolate using 18 fluid oz of melted 72% cocoa chunks mixed in with 6oz of infused coconut oil. The bars stay solid at room temp, but they start melting as soon as you hold a piece in your hands. It tastes and hits you really well, though. I really like melting a piece of it into hot cocoa, too. I need to cut the dosage in half for my next batch, though, because one square of these bars is right around 50mg, so it is really easy to get the munchies and have way more than you should.

If anyone is interested in another recipe, this is what I've come up with after tweaking recipes I've found on the web.

Ingredients:
  • 6oz Infused MCT Oil or Coconut Oil (Coconut oil is best for gummies stored at room temperature and MCT Oil gives the gummies a softer and less chewy texture)
  • 4oz Water
  • 0.5oz Liquid Sunflower Lecithin (3tsp if powdered Lecithin)
  • One 3oz pack of Flavored Gelatin
  • 21g of unflavored Gelatin
  • 1tsp Citric Acid
  • ½tsp Guar Gum
Instructions:
  1. Put a large Pyrex measuring cup into a pot of water, to act as a double boiler, and set the heat to medium
  2. Combine infused MCT Oil, Water, and Sunflower Lecithin, into the Pyrex measuring cup and use an immersion blender to completely combine the ingredients until it reaches a temperature just below boiling.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together favored & unflavored gelatin, along with citric acid and guar gum, until fully blended.
  4. Slowly pour the dry mix into the oil blend while whisking to prevent any clumping.
  5. Use an immersion blender to completely blend the mix until you can no longer see any oil separation (about 5-10 minutes). If you whisk by hand then I'd mix for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Using an oven mitt, grab the lift the Pyrex measuring cup out of the water, and us it to fill your gummy molds as quickly as possible to prevent it from thickening.
  7. Place gummy molds in freezer for 30-40 minutes, then remove from freezer and pop gummies from the mold. (optional) Put gummies in a plastic bag, dust them with a 1:1 mixture of corn starch and citric acid, then shake them up to coat them and prevent them from sticking together.
  8. Place gummies on parchment paper and let them dry for a few hours, then flip and repeat.
  9. Bag up the gummies and seal the bags. They should not need to be refrigerated but storing them in the fridge will help them last longer and will prevent gummies made with MCT oil from sweating out the oil in warmer rooms.
