Aquaman gets dirty

On that note, how often should I water this shit? The seedlings are doing well so far, but I'm not sure how to treat it at this stage? About a week since soil break, first real leaves are about 1.5" across, second node showing. They're light, but not totally dry. Can I just treat this stuff like coco?
Nope treat like soil but it will need watered more often than just soil. The vermiculite will also hold some water. You can always do the weight thing to get ya close until you get a feel. Weigh another cup of it dry then weight it after saturation. Write down the difference and that's you guide. When it gets down to 20-30% of that number water again. I just go buy feel but oldschool used to talk about that

I only water once a week & I've added nothing to it. 2 gallon feeds, running in 7 gals with about 5 gal of ss#4.

Yeah, I'm much of the type for "by feel" as well. The little 6oz or whatever the fuck these cups are are feelin light with the seedlings, so thinking i need to water em. First watering since dropping in. Though, the env is dialed now. 75F @ 60 RH consistent for 24 hours now. Seems like the fluctuations dried out the sunshine a bit.

Yeah sounds like they would like it. I just watered mine today but my temps are 85-87 and Rh is 66-68 so I'm expecting to water a bit more often

On a side note the hbcm seems to be more sensitive to light stress then the bft. The 4-5 that show a tiny light bleaching are all hbcm. It's cool to run a couple different strain in the exact same conditions and he'll these are only a few days old and seeing differences

Ok so 5 days from sprout. I have managed to light bleach 3 because instead of using my 6k 20w led like normal I just through them under my hlg 600 3k at 25k lux thinking I would offset the extra height from the spectrum. Well that went well didn't it. Soil fuck up number 1 of many to come.

Have one with some really twisted shit right from the get go. Taking it to just be genetic and hoping it grows out of it.

The unicorn left middle was the one late germ but catching up.

All the light bleached were HBCM in random places and seems to be a bit more light sensitive than the BFT. None the less my bad for blasting them.

1 feed at tap (130ppm) plus 100ppm of mega crop. I know they don't need it yet but it's more than a safe bet to add.

If ya made through the long winded bs here is the pic. Not much changed IMG_20200515_232539.jpg

Looks good.. a little heavy on the perlite maybe??? Assuming there is vermiculite in there I cant see? Whats the water holding like?

Seems good to me but not a soil grower. 20% vermiculite 25-35% perlite but the sinshine 4 come premixed with perlite
Yea you should be fine, pay attention to the color. If it starts to turn brown, you know youre overwatering. Youre about 25 percent higher than me though... Holding 25 percent more water imo...

Ok 1 week from first sprout. I light burned 3 earlier this week when I had about 20-25k lux. Lowered to 15k and still those 3 are showing light bleaching they seem very sensitive to light so I moved them to the floor under about 7k lux.

Will be upping Lux to 20k today and see how they respond.

They had one feed of tap and 100ppm mega crop. Tomorrow morning they will get tap and 150ppm of mega crop.

Humidity is at 68% and temps at 82f as of yesterday. Had some spiking on the serrations so I know I'm about where they like now.

CO2 still has not been needed.

Pretty normal growth so far

Observations on strains.

HBCM: looking like leaf sizes will be smaller than I usually see. Height is the same as BFT. It seems so far that it does not like being pushed to the limit on lighting in early growth. Will see how they respond in the future. I think I'm going to like the smaller leaf sizes in my small room but it's way to early to say one way or the other. Very uniform in structure like the BFT but it's still early.

BFT: some variation in height but very uniform in structure this early on. Looks like they will have some fat indica leaning leaves.

Pics 1 week from sprout.
