American Goldfinches go from the drab color of
a sparrow in the winter months, to the vibrant yellow color
they take on late spring through summer. As fall progresses, they
revert back to their drab sparrow coloration.

I was going to call this one plank spankin blues, but it didn't sound as nice as the North of the Crossroads title.
A reference to the Steve Vai, Ralph Macchio movie from the mid 80s.

There is a good chance that this one is his mommy. This is a mature one who posed for a half hour about 50 feet from our home last fall.

Turtles are continuing to awaken. Soon there will be a dozen or more on the four basking logs we put in the pond. It was 70 degrees F here today about
the same time we had the partial eclipse where we are at. The temperature dropped a few degrees when it was happening, but climbed right back up to
a welcome 70 degrees. The first 70 degree day we've had this year. 70 degrees F = 21.11 C

Your wife did a terrific job . I watch my wife paint and constantly wonder how she’s going to capture a certain feature or give it dimension . It’s like a little puzzle she has to solve in her head before she transfers it onto canvas . I admire the skill and patience involved . Well done 👊🏻

Thanks so much Ramjet. I'll let her know. She knows I occasionally post her artwork and it always brings a smile to her face when someone comments. She is
picking up a friend at the Grand Rapids airport today, but I'll let her know when she gets home later today. :)

She specializes in doing pet portraits for people, and also does well at art shows with rocks painted with acrylics. She been published many times, and going back almost 40
years, she did the art work for the Rose Bowl in '88 when MSU won. It was the artwork used for the embroidered patches. We buy a table at the farmers market in town to
sell our excess veggies on Saturday mornings, but her artwork surpasses the amount we make on veggies many fold. I married up. :)

A local farmer asked her at the farmers market if she could do motorcycles as well. She had never done any before, but told him she
would give her best try.

I like her pastels best but she does great with multiple mediums, including watercolors, ink, and oils.

She had noticed my obsession with a '52 Blackguard Telecaster, which is somewhat the Holy Grail of Fender Teles, and although
I could never afford one that goes between 50 and 100 k nowadays, she did the next best thing and did this one for me
with pastels. She's a keeper and I don't mean the guitar.

Very very clever . Portraits for a whole bunch of reasons are difficult to get right at times . @Frimpong check out the Bluey top pic . Henry needs to jump in queue 👍🏼. He’s a great looking beast

My wife and I are both in awe of your photos and your wifes painting. In fact re the photos, you are taking all the pictures we would like to take and can't seem to get, and we're a bit envious but we have a lot of fun trying. But yeah man, keep 'em coming they are always a delight to see and thank you for sharing them. I also wanted to know, you shared a pic of a bunch of seed paks one time and I saw one called High Hippo. Just wanted to know if you ever grew any of it and what you thought of it if you did.

You could see it in person if you moved :) my photography skills are terrible, but I take my pictures anyway lol.

They are in rotation for the next grow or the one after. I only grow 6 at a time usually. Those Hippo High were bought from Blimburn with a BOGO. *Buy one, get one free.

I recently bought another order from Blimburn. This time I got some Stoned Panda, Cap Junky, * I have some Cap Junky regs but wanted some fems, Purple Zkittles Lemon Bean, and received some more Fat Bastard freebies. I'm just finishing a run of Platinum Dosi which hermed at 3 weeks. Luckily I had room for her in my tent I'm using to start flats for the veggie garden. The others that are close to getting done now at day 67 are Lemon Dosidope, Permanent Marker, Jelly Breath, Fat Bastard, Gush Mints, and Godfather OG.

The Gush Mints has been bringing it the last couple of weeks, and although a bit of a runt, she's got the look and smell of one that looks promising. The only one I've
sampled so far from a smaller branch that has been curing for three weeks is Lemon Dosidope. A solid thumbs up, meaning I will grow her again. That puts her in rare company as many phenos get one chance to impress me. Most are one hit wonders. I say that because my GMO has spoiled me to the core.
Thanks @AmosAndy

Here is a pic of the Gush Mints at day 64

I like the sound of Fat Bastard lol

I got them from Blimburn. They supposedly test at 30 to 38 % if on can believe levels supplied by seed banks. I believe what I can read on
test reports from honest labs with a good reputation , not the printed word of seed sellers. However, here is a pic. She looks and smells good. In a few weeks I'll know, not that I'm going to have her tested, but the proof is in the pudding as they say. It's still a week or more from finishing and another month or so of curing before
I can give it a taste test over a few days.

Fat Bastard day 50 She's a 56 to 70 day finisher, but I always push everything past suggested finish times. Mostly cloudy with 100 percent chance of amber. lol

After smoking a bunch of Blueberry Cheesecake from Brisco's, the Wife and I got back to the house picking up the youngest from the bus stop, and I noticed a Trillium in the yard had started blooming. We decided to go for a short hike or back to see what was blooming and saw multiple species of flowers coming in.

Well I remembered to take a FEW pictures of the flowers anyway lol. There's yellow ones popping up all over too. My skills were not good enough for those though, and they were on a swampy Ridge line.

Got more Blueberry Cheesecake ready to go and glad we got out there today. You can still see the river pretty easy, for now anyway lol.

No morels yet, heh?

Your woods look a little greener than mine.

Yesterday was the Wife's Birthday, and we found ONE Black Morel Mushroom in the front yard. It's the first one we've seen so far honestly. A buddy of mine said that around the area we live, it takes a bit longer for conditions to get right and get them going, and I know once the Black ones pop up, the Grey and Blonde will be coming up after that. I have a honey hole in the side yard where I can usually get a bowl full of them though :)

I think it's about over here, the woods is getting pretty grown up. I haven't been but from what I understand it was a good year and I'm not surprised, we had lots of thunder while they were in. It might sound crazy...but thunder breaks those s o b's loose.

I like to get pics of the little things too, I watched this guy do nothing for quite a while. He was a wee shit for sure lol.

Yeah bro, the temps haven't quite gotten there yet for us, and it's been pretty dry here, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow :)

Lol we had a tree frog living in a chair outside once. Blew my mind how loud such a small frog could be haha.
