So yesterday turned out to be bizarre. Scoped my Pineapple Muffin and had 40% - 50% amber, tight nugs, choppy choppy wacky wacky and shes trimmed and hanging.
Out of everything in veg that is waiting to go to flower... 3 out of 8 expressed male. 2 PMM which I wanted and my Hybrid G plant. Bummed on the Hybrid G.
Cloned the PMM males x8 so that I'm certain to get 1 off of each plant. Those will go to bonsai eventually. I clipped the Hybrid G and went straight to bonsai with him.
Anything that I've got at this point are either HSC strains that I'm looking to cross or hybrids I'm already in the middle of or 40 strains from a Cali guy that I'm working to prove genetics. Examples: Chem Dog 4, Blue Cookies, Afghan 1, Lemon Skunk 2, LA Confidential, King King and 8 auto strains.
So any males that pop are getting bonsai treatment and heading back into veg. I want easy access to pollen from quality strains.
I'm interested in crossing all of the HSC lines. I have 3: Pineapple Muffin, Squirt, and Purple Mountain Majesty. The PPM and PM are reg seeds. Squirt is fem and I already have a stable mama plant for that one for clones. I'm working on bonsais for both male and fem PPM. The Pineapple Muffin has been auto for me. So a bonsai wont work for that strain. But I crossed the pineapple with an old school purple strain that has produced nice plants and should knock the auto out of it. I'll breed it back to PM and then once again to the purple mountain majesty. Pineapple grape bud would be nice. Purple Pineapple Muffin. Once I run a few generations on it and prove it stable then I'll put one of its males over a Squirt clone and see what happens. The goal with the HSC seeds is to end up with something called Purple Squirting Pineapple Muffin.
The rest of it? Who the fuck knows until the plants are grown, strains sampled, and "this and this would be fire..." is determined.
And yes I've finally dove into the seeds and genetics game. Tried to buy more seeds last night. My wife grabbed some paper. Based upon the seed stock I have now apparently I have the ability to produce 1600 strains. So whatever I am doing this is what I'm doing it with unless the guys genetics actually suck.

Told y'all I'm long winded... So here are some bonsai highlights...
White Widow - Espalier meets bonsai. I've never grown a 2D plant before now. And honestly I was over brutal to it. Right before I put it into flowering I defoliated everything except the bud sites and top 2 fan leaves. It's being fed almost like a coco medium plant. The goal is a well formed main cola and 4 tight nugs from the sides. That's all. All the rules say this will fail. Genetically med to large plant, very limited root space, and little in the fan leaf department. Its forming up pretty cool. Hope it continues.
Squirt - Bonsai Clone Mama
Soooooo we should create this product called Little Dabbie's Green Up and make a fortune. Ph stable epsom salts and water. This thing was lime green last week. His diagnosis and fix was dead on. And it caught a problem in our water supply from our well.
White Widow - Bonsai
Waited for the final stretch and made the final cuts in the middle of the start of flowering. Right. Against the rules. Glad it's not an auto. That left me with 8 main shoots. I had already fim'd this one a couple of times in veg to kick off buds sites. Glad I did. The main fans were removed long ago. Roots have been trimmed twice. No bueno in flowering unless it stalls. The goal is 8 mini colas. Who knows what weight will be. I see 3 that will make it. My gut is telling me to whack everything else. But I'm going to let this one play out and see what happens.

This is a pic of 3 of my WW. You've the little ones. The large one is a defoliation project that's about 6 weeks into flower. When that cola started forming up is when the little bonsais went into flower. What fan leaves remain are taking a hell of a beating. The yield will be alright at 13 weeks if it goes that long. This is one of the reasons the bonsais got their final cut when they did and wont be touched again until harvest.

I was waiting for a male Purple Mountain Majesty and got 2. So this thing I've been wanting to do for a while is finally happening or rather able to happen. I was going to call it Purple Squirt. My wife said it should be called Majestic Piss. So I guess that's what it's going to be.

Have any of you dirt guys ever just stuck a clone into the same soil as the mama plant? I hit a Squirt with Olivia's and just dropped it in. I'm not sure whether it's going to do anything but rot, but that would be pretty cool to just be able to do that and then dig them up when they're ready to transplant. Did some trimming. Will post up some pics later. What's to say? Grow is growin'. Buds are swelling on 1. Boxer dog took a bite out of one of my LA Confidential youngsters. Finished 2 more bonsai transplants that are older plants. One is taking it hard. The other is acting like nothing happened. Learned defoliation on Purple Mountain Majesty is bad, very very not good bad. The fans on the unaltered plant are bigger than my hands. I have a plant that is the same exact strain, 4 weeks in front of two I have in flowering and gah! I defoliated, ran into a ph issue and it took a minute to recover. But the other two that are a month younger? Lush army green standing up, just started spitting flowers and passed the other plant in height. If the bud is as good as the veg growth on this thing, it's going to be good. By far the prettiest plants I have grown this season.

Flower (...smoke is life and my darkroom is an unused bathroom): 2 Squirt, 3 Purple Mountain Majesty, 3 White Widow. Sorry for the shitty pic. Camera thing had a crack in it and makes flash photos no bueno.

So @LittleDabbie what do you think about the product idea... "Little Dabbie's Green Up"? Hmmmmm...? Those three plants are in these pics lol! The Squirts are easier to see. They are having a slow bounce back for sure. But a buddy of mine who has grown them said to ignore the instructions and expect 4 - 6ft, and 12 to 14 weeks of flowering. They'll be here for a while which is why I moved them to flower before they were 100% recovered. The other Purple Mountain Majesty is the one that has really little green leaves. Compare that one to the two remaining plants... they are the Purple Mountain Majesty fems in different soil that buffered my PH fuck up and they are about a month younger than the smaller plant. They aren't topped and look at the side shoot growth. I haven't done anything to these two except remove 3 nodes for clones off the bottom of each. The fans are bigger than my hand and they grow naturally like a super cropped/topped plant which is fooking CRAZY to me. That recovered plant with the small leaves was defoliated, fim'd, topped, and then accidently had its nuts kicked up into its throat. Cool thing is that its stems are deep purple and it started throwing cool colored leaves recently. It has TONS of bud sites, but I'm not sure how the extreme shock it went through is going to impact yield.

I'll have to get a comparison shot of my one outdoor fan leaves are fucking HUGE bigger then my head, i'd say about the size of a basketball and i've barley fed em or watered em!

Well... sprayed cal mag with a bottle my wife used to make and ultra concentrated bleach solution with and fried everything. Same colored top. Go figure. Grow is dead. Thread is closed. I’m out. Best of luck fellas.

damn that sucks ass. sorry to hear of your tragic loss. the best way to recover is to pop fresh seeds and lovè them. if you need any i have some I could send to help out.
