Looks pretty green the growth . Is that what’s burning ? All our bushfires are summer time when everything dries out . Does your undergrowth dry right out in summer as well ? Yeah probably stupid questions
We got ZERO precipitation all Spring. Everything was dry as dust and nothing had greened up yet when most of the fires started. This dry weather isn't wasn't normal, but even normal isn't normal these days.

I don't even know which fire this smoke is coming from. It's been clear the last few days but the wind shifted to bring back the haze. There's still 10 wildfires of note n the province, down from 13 last week.

There has finally been some rain over the last week and things are looking green and healthy in the immediate vicinity. I hope that means we are safe. I'm heading SW in a couple days to meet up with SSGrower and I'd rather not be nervous about my house burning while I'm gone.

Speaking of normal not being normal these days . We had 25C today on the 3rd day of winter . Very unusual , even for us .

So lucky to have that right on your doorstep Billy . I’d be hitting those trails with muttly most days if I was local .

Lucky ? Bro you realize we have Air Ports ? Barring that you can come through the Ocean too.... LOL :)

We actually went back out last night. A friend of our's came over and she hasn't been by in a while, so we grabbed two blunts with Kief and a house blend in them, and went out there. One of the other locals had his big hunting dog out without a leash, and I'm standing there with the Wife and our friend, and block the dog off whilst waiting for the owner who is yelling at the dog, and after the first encounter, it's fine it seems.

We continue on the trails, and then the dog runs up on us again and by this point I'm feeling the level of aggression the dog is showing is getting annoying, so I advance on the dog, and turn him around the other direction, and then he turns and comes closer. I stand there, try talking to him in higher pitched tones to reassure him (I've been told when I'm sweating that I have a very distinct smell, and animals literally walk off from their owners to visit me so I'm guessing he was confused by me) and the owner is near by trying to walk to where the dog ran off, and then he continues barking aggressively, so I'm like that's it.... I advance on the dog directly, and back his ass up until I'm 3 feet from him, and the owner grabs him. LOL it's rare that anyone would bring a dog out there without a Leash, specially considering my legal options, but it wasn't the dog's fault.

The dog tried once more but I think the owner saw the look I had, and how "gentle" I was being given the circumstances, and he shoved his dog back away the other direction, and it was over. He did apologize, and didn't act like an ass, so, I considered it done. Poor dog LOL.

We walked back up to the house and sat on the deck for a bit, and then she had to go pick her daughter up so, it was dinner and bed time :)

We do have Foxes and Coyotes out there, so most people keep their dog on a leash. There's a lady out here that has a HUGE chunky dog she walks, and each time we're out there, her dog drags her over to see us and get petted LOL.

We have quite a few different types of flowers that grow wild out there. I tried to put a few pics in there of some of them, but there's actually a lot more. There's a Tree at the base of a trail that runs WAY out, and it has the oddest looking flowers I've seen.... They look like fuzzy.....Orb things.... I'll have to get a picture next time, as I haven't found any pics of that one yet, but I'm only through one and a half of the folders I have full of pics from the Woods.

We have a Digital Picture frame in the Bedroom, and one USB stick plugged into it right now has like 800+ of these pictures that play through it.

Those 3 images are a little weird:

You can clearly see a "fog" there. Thing is, the Wife and I were out there, and everything was normal, and then out of no where, we started to see this appear. Now, there have been some creepy things out in those woods before, but this was odd.

We had hiked out, and this area is pretty well known, but it was quiet, and out of no where, a cool air formed. I know it was cool because as we watched this thing form, I walked over towards it, and you could literally feel this one area had a pocket of cold air compared to the rest of the woods. Now, inside, I thought "This is the different levels of humidity and cooler air mixing in the woods making it look that way".

The other part of me watched this happening right in front of me, and saw that absolutely no breeze was there.... You didn't feel the cooler air until you walked into that area as it was happening. It didn't "move" it "grew" as there wasn't a wind.

This is one of the creepiest things I've watched out in that exact location. The only thing that comes close to this, are, well.... TWO times:

#1. Wife and I took the youngest with us out there one day. As we got near the ridge line, I heard a very distinct Feline growl. Wife and I heard it, and I instantly walked into the direction I heard the noise (You think I'd run the other way? It was feline.....) Wife grabbed the youngest and tucker her into her side, and they went back towards the car. These Woods are connected to the ones in the back yard, but it's also like 2 miles away, and it's easier to drive to this section than to walk 6+ hours.

As the Wife got about half way to the car, I hadn't heard a single noise since the growl. I was looking up. I didn't hear it come from the ground, it sounded like it was higher up in the trees, so that was where I was looking. I didn't hear a single sound...

Wife called to me and said it was time to catch up to them, so I walked towards them slowly, watching and listening, but I didn't hear a single peep. I know what a feline growl sounds like, and I know what I heard, but that's the only time that has ever happened. I had them get in the car as I stood by the entrance to the parking spot, and then we left.

#2. Wife and I were in those woods again, but on the other side of a two track. As we're going deeper, and hiking, we eventually start thinking about leaving as it was time to get going. As we start heading back through, we can hear something large behind us. It's at a distance, but easily heard. Something pretty big I'd say given it was WAY louder than the Deer we hear, or Coyotes that you don't really "hear" too well.

The sound of a tree crashing, and huge foot steps.... I'll be honest here; I've got NO idea what it was. I didn't see it, I only heard it. Wife and I both continue hearing this as we're walking back through the trails to get back to the car (We were parked in a different location this time, but same woods, different entrance) and we hear this thing essentially walking in step with us, and keeping a slight distance in the thicker woods.

As we get near the exit of "the woods" it's closer. Not going to lie here, it was a little creepy wondering what was going on, but again, this was a ONE off thing. It hasn't happened before or since that one time. I couldn't tell what it was even as we left, but it literally followed us back all the way to where we parked. Where we parked is literally hidden in the woods, and you wouldn't know this was there unless you drove down these dirt roads that lead to this area where you can park and hike, and sometimes people have bon fires in the parking lot.

Locals go out there to smoke weed and hike but it's one of those spots where I've only seen someone I don't know personally once. Literally, it's the only time a person I didn't know showed up out there, and upon seeing us, they left. It's where you go to get away from everyone else. Normally I only see another fellow grower out there.

Anyway, those are the only real creepy stories I have in this one little area. It's beautiful out there though.

I love skunks. In my experience, they mirror you. If you give them space and respect, they give you the same.

Just have to avoid surprising them, then all bets are off.

He was adorable. I put the window down and talked to him, and he didn't panic. Just continued looking for food.

I kind of have to wonder; had I surprised him, (he was like 6 feet away at first) would the Wife just be like "out in the garden huh?" Lol.
