Gonna Build a Little Pond

Nope.

I am not a cat fan at all. Indoors is fine, but not out. If crows acted like cats, I'd have shot them .

That sounds weird bro; Cats generally just come up to me, and listen to me pretty well. We walk in the woods with the Cat, and she stays near by, and even closer if a dog is out there. She hangs out in the garden and even helps give "nutrients" to my soil pile lol.

Hope you see some of these someday in your pond Amarok !
Having turtles would be cool, but if they made it this far north, something would be pretty messed up.
There aren't any fur-bearing turtles, are there?;)

Pond wasn't ready in time this year, but I'm hoping for tadpoles next year. Should be enough cover vegetation around the edges for frogs to be comfortable by then. I'd love to see some garter snakes as well, but that's probably about the only cold-blooded critters I'm likely to see.

We have Lilly Pads that are just starting to bloom, but in the smaller one out back, we use the rubber floating ones and the frogs don't seem to mind.

Fur Turtles....I'll just file that under "too easy" LOL.

I didn't realize that you were that far north !
Maybe the closest thing to a furry turtle is this "green haired" Mary River turtle, from the land of down under, which has green algae growing on it, because they spend so much time under water.

Got a sore throat from the smoke so I'm not spending a lot of time outside, but when I am, Scruff is always around. I'm a little concerned about him. He's had something discolouring his beak near the base, on both sides, for a few days. I'm hoping it is just the remnants of something he ate and not a health issue.

He seems fine, and is getting pretty cocky. If I didn't put food out, he'll land on his platform and then strut along the top of the deck rail looking at me. :)
Yesterday I laid out some food and instead of turning away, I paused to put the lid on the container. He's so used to swooping right in, he was landed a foot away from me before he realized I hadn't moved. He flew down to the ground and let me step back and then was right back up and filling his face.

I always have to remind myself that for me this is fun, for the crows this is life and death.

The pond is still clear, but there is lots of algae that needs scooping. I added a second water pump yesterday to provide more agitation and aeration on the surface to see if that makes a difference.
The various trees and shrubs are all growing well and the berm is greening up nicely.

Just stay inside and breathe some of the smoke you got going in there, brother.
Stay safe.
