I recently ordered from this bank. Prices were fair and shipping was fast. They had a good sale recently that I missed but on 4/20 it was an automatic 15% off in your cart. Everything, right down to the freebies was spelled out up front. You get charged $8 for insurance beyond shipping.
2 half packs of In House and then 4 in house freebies, 2 auto freebies and 3 fem freebies(Skywalker)
They have some good genetics there and I will go back.

Bump. Really like this bank, fast shipping good selection.
I initially had germ issues with my first order. But it was DNA Genetics and I entirely blame the breeder not NASC. Thought I should post this, as I made a negative post on another forum but have had no issues with germ since that first order.

I made a cart there on cyber monday, about $100, and I noticed that the forced charge for insurance has risen from $8 to $10. Then I'm looking at their shipping method with USPS and that includes $100 insurance. So wtf is that? Anyway, seems weird that they bill for that shit, so I voted with my wallet and spent the c-note @ Seeds Of Love.

yeah, the blimburn freebie hermied, yeah the other freebie is a white label pack. There's better places to shop for me. I would go back for rare dankness possibly. Just that being nickeled and dimed for 10% of your order is horseshit.

So true brother! I can't stop folks from screwing me, but they never get my money!

That's sad to hear, ordered from them a couple times without any problems.

That sucks they added the extra fee. I would rather them just post on the page "Due to economic reasons, we have raised our prices 10%" or whatever, rather than add some redundant fee.
-Great place to shop if you run a lot of fems though. I've always felt like I really got my money worth ordering from them, since they sell single and 3 packs of seeds. For like $100 bucks I can get 5 or 6, 3 packs of big name seeds plus a ton of quality freebies (last freebies were IN House)

So it's sort of a silly system. You can choose not to have the insurance at checkout. Trust me I decline it every single time.
I think it is just a way to make extra money. I dont see the need for domestic orders to have the option. But if I were spending hundreds I would probably add it. So I get that I guess.
Usps has lost one of my international packages recently.... just never showed up.

Blimburn is very hit or miss. Same with the white label stuff (mostly Blimburn).

My Mandala (France) order got ripped of the seeds, they supposedly resent, but it has yet to arrive! That’s been a couple months.
Ya, it’s not coming, but Devi did offer to refund if it didn’t arrive by 1/8.
I’ll take the hit, but was looking forward to that drop.

I grabbed the Dynasty drop from Chitown last week, they used a different delivery service. I won’t post it, but let’s just say losses should be down?

That's sugarcoating it. It's more than a silly system. It's designed to rip people off and it does. What kind of crap is charging people for insurance that they don't even need ? It's not an "oops"...it's set up by design like that. In other words, they know full well they are ripping you off by charging that.

Extra money??????? Yeah, we could all use some I'm sure.

They already mark up the postage. Who do they pay this $10 insurance too?? You can bet your ass it's nobody and they keep that money as "self insurers".
It's not innocent, it's not silly......it's by design to rip people off.

Well in theory the default should be not having insurance and you can opt for it, not the other way around. I agree with you there.
Definitely choosing where your money goes or doesnt is how you can make an impact.
Capitalism is full of all sorts of scam, ripoff, exploitative, dehumanizing, alienating things. The list goes on. In the grand scheme of things, unchecking one box to not have insurance doesn't bother me that much. But to each their own. If it bothers you that much for sure don't order from them.

In the grand scheme of things it's a complete rip off. There is nothing else to call it regardless of your rationalizations for the behavior.
Case in point, I just went and made a cart over there for an $80 pack. Here is what my cart looks like
nasco..cart.jpg

So there it is, my seed pack and the shipping. Ground Advantage includes $100 insurance. The total says $86.95

When you click to proceed to checkout they slip the hidden charge in there, see below nasco..checkout.jpg

Now my total is $94.95. Notice that NOWHERE does it say that insurance is an option, nowhere. NASCO is VERY business oriented, they have all their i's dotted and tee's crossed. They use this web page everyday. THEY ABSOLUTELY KNOW THEY ARE RIPPING UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE OFF!
And they do it anyway.

So it's not a matter of unchecking boxes that should NEVER have been checked in the first place for me. It's not about unchecking box, it's about people getting ripped off. The order was already going to be completely insured.

There is no rationalization that excuses it. It's scummy behavior pure and simple.

You need to click the proceed to checkout button, then un-check the delivery insurance box. 1000003960.jpg 1000003963.jpg 1000003961.jpg
