She has a very pungent citrus and pine smell leaning more towards lemons than oranges.
Buds are beginning to harden, leaving a sticky resin on the fingers that seems could stand toe to toe with the likes of a Gorilla Glue.

Not as long as I'd planned for an average size strain, but I managed to let my reserves get dangerously low so a couple of weeks makes a sizable difference atm.
I figure it will give me a better idea whether I should veg the next one for 6 or 8 weeks.

Prayin? plants looking happy! Where'd you acquire the GDP again?? I haven't really seen or had it much since early-mid 2000's I wanna say. It's smell and taste is still very distinct in my memory. A lot has changed since then...

The GDP is from ILGM.
90% of what I've grown (1.5yrs) has been from them.

If their beans are as bad as some people say, then I must be the luckiest new grower in history.
I've had phenomenal results from around a dozen of their fem/photo and autoflower strains.

I went ahead and processed the harvest a bit more.
20201003_164906.jpg
Just took the nugs off the stems. A few more days and I'll toss it in my trimmer and off to the jars.
Not going to even try to guess the weight. I've found since I started growing, I suck @ eye balling amounts now. I see an eighth nowadays and I can't believe I used to hand over $50 for that tiny amount. :cautious:

She's definitely starting to look tasty...

Awesome documentation and pics. I really like what you're doing here, the bush factor is incredible. Very interesting on how your net pots are smaller than what I typically see. Looks very efficient and the yields you're reporting are great, along w the quality of the buds. Keep up the good work :flame:

The GDP is done with stretching and my lux was a little lower than I wanted. (36k) Since I fixed the hood to the roof of my tent, I had to raise her up a bit. But all is good now. (49k-54k and the height just helps the gravity drainage a bit more)

I am glad she decided to finally settle in. I was beginning to worry if she'd have enough height.
Overall she's still no shorty...(sorry for the hps)

Thanks for the kind words.
The pot is a regular 7gal I folded down and tossed about 5gal of dirt in. I knew 7gal would be overkill for an auto and my only other choice were 13" tall 3gal fabrics that I had.
So I "improvised" :giggle:
I was talking about the net pots in the totes, they look smaller, but maybe I'm mistaken. I use 6" myself when running RDWC.

gotcha. not familiar with that method, probably why it looked different to me.
I didn't know much about it either until after my first grow. (8 autos in dirt)
I wanted to switch to hydro, but didn't like the idea of so many parts/pieces that go into RDWC. Too many things that can fail and ruin a whole crop for me.

I liked the simplicity of using a water shelf and gravity drainage. It just seems to me it would be a more "natural" feeling for the plant to grow in it's own "groundwater source".

And then I went and made it all complicated by making the feed and drainage systems automatic so all I have to do is fill the rez up and add nutes. :)

If you ever get tired of all the pumps/stones/waterfall sounds, you should give it a look.

Thanks for the link. I actually like the sounds lol. I use a medical air pump now, which has reduced the decibels by a significant amount. It's like a zen water feature now. Yes RDWC can be nerve wracking but if successful, reaps a lot of rewards. I also run F&D totes, which I absolutely love as well. I like water systems due to the mitigation of bugs (I hate bugs). That isn't to say I don't run coco/soil as well. I use that mainly for propagation/mothers but I can definitely see me utilizing it for a full run in the future again.

I'm an aquarius so I completely understand how the sound could be 100% soothing.

And yeah, screw the bugs. I had a couple in the soil plant I have now. Reminded me why I don't like soil indoors.
That's also why I made my buckets Sub-irrigated instead of drip feed, and cut the hole small in the lids to eliminate algae.

Excellent journal Smoke!!
Well written, photos documented well, overall A+.
I recognized your user name from another forum, and recall you helping me out with a question over there, when I was still just doing research I believe.
I'll hit you with some questions if you don't mind...
I have lots of room, 2) 5 x 5 tents. One for flower and one for veg.
I like to run my flower tent in Scrog, I was running one 2 x 4 screen with two plant the same stage. I recently have changed to 2) 2 x 2 screens for the flower tent, with the two plants more staggered.
I'm running a modified E&F system, and I am changing over to individual reservoirs for each plant as well.
All that to say that I run two in veg, and two in flower.
My state has a 5 plant count max.
That gives me an open spot. I was going to reserve that for a mother, but I have ran a different stain every plant so far.
Trying to get to my point...
I think I would like to run a single hempy bucket in my veg tent with an auto.
(I've never finished a plant that wasn't scrogged, but I would with this plant.)
The tent is a constant 18/6 with 5K LED lighting, although I would have the opportunity to add 3.5K strip lights if I needed to.
Asking for your opinion on the topic, please. Any nuggets of wisdom? Pointers from a hempy kinda guy?
(just had a thought, I have lots of room in the flower tent as well, I could do a photo strain and just move it to the other tent. Thoughts?)

Didn't mean to highjack your thread, would be happy to take this to PM if that would be better.
Thanks,
WillieP

PS
I like the GST thing. I've been using weights on individual branches to the same result.

Hi there WillieP!
It sounds like you've got a pretty well oiled machine running there. If I was in your situation I would definitely go with an auto in the veg tent.
That was my plan overall, but my veg tent is only a 4'x4' and right about the time she started getting big I had 3 other plants and a bubble cloner in there so she had to be moved.

With 2 photos vegging in a 5'x5' I think you"d be fine to flower an auto in there. Just keep in mind you will most likely have to raise your photos up some due to the light height needed once the auto is flowering. Unless you have separate lights you can run in the tent.

As far as hempy goes, it's basically fool proof.
PH your water to 5.8 and give nutes @ every feeding.
Some people run straight perlite. I like using 25-30% vermiculite in mine. The water retention is great. Using 10 gallon buckets, I give a feed before I put a seed in and don't have to give my first feeding until around week 4 of veg. Even with the added retention, the plant still needs fed to 30% runoff every day in flower.
Things dry out pretty quickly.

Last thing I'd suggest is figuring out your drainage first. If you can somehow make it to where the bucket runoff takes care of itself, it makes life a lot better.
I have mine dump into a condensate pump that automatically pumps runoff into my sewer. But with only 1 plant it shouldn't be too bad.

Glad to see you on the site. Always nice to have good folks around.
If there's anything else I can give you a hand with just let me know. :passjhomie:
