My dad had a couple leo kottke CDs when I was kid and I listened to them all the time, very talented man.

Tommy Emanuel is outstanding I love watching him play, such feeling. Kinda like stevie ray Vaughn just always a pleasure watching him do his thing. There is a great Tommy Emanuel and Billy Strings video on youtube, aswell as his version of classical gas that is just outstanding.

The Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins video you posted is great I have watched it many times. Chet Atkins sweeping on a acoustic like its nothing.

Found Leo and Chet at different times myself. Sounds like your dad had some good taste in music. Always love to hear parents passing on music from their life...Peter Paul and Mary from my mom and Rush/Uriah Heep from my dad.

Chet was first for me out of he and Leo, found his records in my grandfathers things at 11...It was a life changing moment for me, picked up a guitar and have not looked back. Leo was a couple years after, but I love his music. Been a truly wonderful journey they've both taken me on.

Tommy Emmanuel is amazing, he is absolutely loving his time playing. There is not a happier person than he, when hes jamming...really wonderful to see. I saw an interview with him once, he describes learning to play by ear listening to the Beatles. He thought it was one guitar playing everything and so taught himself to play the whole song at the same time using his thumb as well as the rest of his fingers. Really astounding stuff...couldn't find that interview...but if you are interested, this is a really good one.

Its a really good series if you are a bit of a gear head.

I've only recently been listening to some Billy strings and have not checked them together yet. Will definitely be looking for that tonight. Classical gas is so much fun and his version is outstanding.

Also Mark Knopfler is awesome. Love Dire Straits and most of his solo stuff. That video is wonderful, so much fun to watch.

My parents was always big into music. Saturday morning (cleaning day) as a kid, the music was always cranked up. Hear the window panes vibrate outside.
Funny you mentioned rush my all time favorite band when I was young, also my first concert. Was during vapor trails tour, they killed it.

The video I was talking about, thatd be a fun show to see.

Very similar here, the sounds of rush, yes, Joan Baez, and almost always some king crimson thru the weekend. Didn't have cleaning days every weekend (definitely should have lol) but we thrived on music.

Am very jealous, would have loved to see them in concert. Never did get to go.

Great video, looks like so much fun. Billys got the Willie Nelson/Michael hedges look rocking. Love it.
