Man I would absolutely love to try all y’all’s cooking. Even your local favorite restaurants. Around here ppl get stoked for a new Denny’s popping up in the podunk towns ? don’t get me wrong there are some BOMB ASS places to eat here but most are just OK. Hole in the wall are typically the best, but Mom’s cookin kills em all, healthy fresh ingredients straight from her organic garden, etc.

FWIW I’m a sucker for good BBQ (the smokier the better), Tacos, and Pizza. Oh and let’s not forget a Viet Banh Mi Sandwich. Man oh man

Any possibility of a well crafted muffaletta making onto the list?
Sure, I just need to try one first lol. I know they're similar to what we just call an Italian here but different bread and condiments.

Which, I love an Italian sandwich deeply, but there's so many variations. The three sandwiches I listed may vary from place to place but by and large, when you order one you just get it the way it comes. No choosing toppings or breads just, give me a Cubano por favor! Which I think a Muffaletta is similar in concept right?

As an aside to this conversation, there's a place in town that just opened that has a "Banh Mi" on a ciabatta roll and I refuse to eat there based off that fact alone. Everyone thinks I'm insane but I'm sorry, some sandwiches are defined by the bread and a Banh Mi is on a goddamned baguette.

If anyone wants to get a rise out of me, just tell me how much you love the ciabatta rolls for sandwiches trend...

Has anyone noticed I care too much about food yet?

I think the actual bread used for this is what Alton Brown used to make a proper Po Boy in an episode of Good Eats. Apparently that's easier to get than the type in New Orleans?

Yes, no additions to a muffaletta. The olive tapenade/ giardiniera is the only lubricant, and totally makes or breaks things... (besides the quality of bread ?)

Never had better muffaletta. Down the street from Cafe du Monde in the French quarter.

Website says they r still fucked up by Ida but have started shipping ?

GC you got that right. Gotta be a French Baguette, like wtf how dare they lol. Extra pate please. Bonus points for duck pate, but here they’ve banned duck pate cuz it was considered too cruel to fatten up the ducks just for their livers. So it’s mostly pork pate you’ll find at the Banh Mi shops. Some places skim out and don’t put all the meats. They don’t get my biz, you gotta have the OG. Gah what a fresh tasting sandwich w all the pickled veggies and the lightly toasted baguette.
Muffuletta is good too but when too many olives are used it gets super salty so fast. Other than that it’s a solid sandwich and is mentioned on quite a few food shows.
And of course why wouldn’t I mention the Tri Tip sandwich? Although I prefer just the meat alone, they’re extremely popular here and typically sell out before half the day’s over.

Duck pate mmmmmmmm.

I remember that one point in my life I wanted to be a charcuterie master and then I became a pot head. Or maybe I was a pot head and wanted to be a charcuterie master... Can't remember

There was a place in Quebec that made Duck liver Poutine. Anthony Bourdain ate it when he went there. Never got to try it but I would love to. Ate my first Head Cheese there. Those raw Cheese Curds though.... squeaking on your teeth.... that's all I really miss about Montreal lol.

I know in Michigan they say "pooh-teen" but that's not how you say that, it's actually "pooh-tsin" in French. I think I'd drink that gravy... lol.
