a four foot bait ?.... I mean off the top of my head, a Wels Catfish, a Wallago Catfish, a record class Goonch, a Piraiba...4 feet is about the heigh of a kid, so it's their normal diet LOL.

Didn't you guys JUST discover a new species of giant spider there ? I'd prefer to keep the things trying to kill me feline or with barbels.
Yeah possibly . Just another pissed off creepy crawly looking for a boot left outside to house up in .
It’s weird because you know they are lurking around the place and you get complacent and every now and then you’ll pick something up and get a little reminder gloves around the garden are probably a smart move . Redbacks I can’t stand . Ugly creepy little bastards . 1A504E38-EA05-458A-A269-96DFD394E314.jpeg I need a flamethrower .

You guys have your nightmares as well .
You got this fierce little snake that plays the maracas with its tail like some twisted sense of humour .
I’m gonna play you a little Mexican dance tune to lighten the mood before I nail your ass with a little venom .
Michigan only has one species like that, being in the wrong city is more dangerous statistically lol

I've read that so many dumbasses have killed rattlesnakes when they rattle, IE give you a warning, that they are naturally selecting towards ones that don't rattle. Another fail for humans.

Oh well. I spent the afternoon on a lake playing with perch. It was a beautiful day, warm and mostly calm. I heard the first geese and ducks of the season and for most of the time the birds made the only sounds I could hear. I was in my tent so I could see the screens better, so I didn't see them. The action was pretty slow, but still a lot of fun. I caught a handful of ~6" perch and packed up around 6PM when the breeze started picking up while the action died off.

+5 here right now and it feels sooo nice. The snow is starting to melt off the lawn and garden, the animals are getting more active, the great renewal is beginning.

It’s a shame some humans behave that way towards creatures . Stating the obvious ,If you have no other option of course but I’ll always live and let live .
Look at it from the snakes point of view , how vulnerable would you feel if a creature 10x your size was hovering over you ?
Sure some creature aren’t on our favourites list but are still a creature on this planet just trying to survive like anything else .
Excuse my kind of rant but I dislike killing anything that could’ve been avoided .
I’d rather shoot something with my camera knowing it’s still out there doing what it does .
You just have to respect the resilience of most of these creatures and the environment they live in . Those crazy Emperor Penguins down Antarctica breeding in Blizzard conditions are truly remarkable . I’ll see if I can find some footage I took of a large Eastern Brown moving over the Sandhills on a trip we took a couple years back . I’ll admit my adrenalin was pumping a bit getting close knowing this reptile has killed hundreds of us Aussies over the years .

Exactly. The rattle was them saying "I'm here, don't fuck with me or you'll regret it". Now a lot of them will just strike, making their presence less safe for us and them, since as they become a bigger threat they become a bigger target.

Just think how many lives would be saved if drop bears had rattles.

At first I thought you were recording from the vehicle, but you were right out there trying for your Darwin Award.

Damn that's a big snake.
My daughter readily reminded me how dumb I can be lol .
It was a Steve Irwin moment . I was totally enthralled to observe it .
Was near 6 feet long which for an Eastern Brown is considered large .
Was so calm and graceful in its movement . I could’ve watched it for some time but it wasn’t going to expose itself any longer that it needed .

Looks very similar to our Black Widow - the red usually is in an hourglass shape - found only 3 over the years on this property

I was waiting for the Steve Irwin narration in the vid... ?

"Crikey! That's one giant snake... Majestic! Yeah, but a deadly bugger, too...
I'm somehow drawn towards it's feral beauty. Now I know how the ladies must feel..."

All this talk about fishing..... I'm gonna book either a day charter trip or just try fishing from Clearwater beach pier. I fished off there when I was 12ish. I remember a guy catching some nice reds' and a shark.

And F spiders! I was a pest control tech for sears back in the day. I was on the job at a high school in the hvac room. I walked into a massive black widow nest. I freaked out and sprayed my pants with the chems. It burned my skin, so I ripped my pants off and tried to wash off the chems. BUT the bell rang and the little shit-heads (school kids) came and filled the halls. It was embarrassing as well as painful from the chemicals on my legs.
