This year i am going to fish !
Man i found my gear moving stuff around.....here fishy fishy
So he will only grow relevant to the tank size I’m guessing yeah ?I've had some pretty "interesting" pets
When I was like 10 or so, I had a massive tank with 3 Red Belly Piranha in it. Had a Clown Knife Fish, and an African Butterfly fish.
Course those would never survive in most of my tanks now:

Hannibal Moonwiggle
The Moonwiggle part of his name is from back when he was a 2 inch baby that would swim up, belly on the front of the glass, and turn sideways, and wiggle in the current and ride it like a surf board, LOL.
He is totally OK with being petted as long as it's not feeding time; If he's hungry he'll grab whatever goes in his tank and if it's my hand he ends up going to the bottom sadly and feels bad..... Not unlike a Pit Bull that ends up feeling bad when they nip their owner, but fully capable of killing one LOL. They can get almost 6 feet long, and weigh well over 100 pounds, and normally a Catfish this size would be a risk to human life, but Red Tails get to know their owners.
He's about big enough now where I could feed him live Blue Gill, but that has to wait.... He's WAY to strong already and would likely smash the glass on the tank trying to nail it. Once his little pond is ready with it's heavy duty sides then I'll let him play with a live one since that won't break so easy LOL. He can do what the Wife calls a "One inch punch" where he puts his face up against the side of the tank and if he's hungry he will legit bite the side, and when he does this, you can feel it in the floor, and all the water starts shaking in his tank..... Crazy how strong he is already LOL.
So he will only grow relevant to the tank size I’m guessing yeah ?
Awesome . I think I want one lol
Nice looking colours and shape to him .
He’d go pinkies ( baby mice ) easily as well by the look of it
Super cool !!!Im like GC....I've got a million hobbies and will probably pick up another before Im done typing this.
I love wrenching & restoring. Ive done a ton of restorations including everything from old train lanterns, to pre war bikes, to classic cars. Sometimes making an old item new can be more fun than the item itself. Ive got a thing for building guitars and electric cigar box guitars & amps too. Hand made from the fretboard to the pickups. They aren't wall hangers either, they jam!

Model RCs so cool . I used to watch my brother and his mates build aircraft as a kid .Building and flying R/C gliders. Something peaceful about hiking up a hill and riding the wind like waves. Recently got back into trout fishing. My buddy gave me some jigs that are like cheating. So fun to catch fish after fish and hearing others on the water " holy shit he caught another one!" Hahahhaa ..they ask, what are you using and I say, with a grin " velveeta' hahahhaa
I got a buddy who has a catty as big as a baby pool almost he keeps it in a real pool and get it out and puts it in a baby pool for the kids to see and pet it for a few seconds then he puts the big bastard back into his pool lmao talk about some back wood hillbilly shit. It’s one of those cheap vinyl above grounds too. I always wondered if anyone was drunk and just jumped in before and got the shot scared out of them but he said it never happened. I swear that thing could swallow a baby whole. It’s gotta be 5ft+ it bends around the baby pool and can barely move that’s why he keeps it a 30ft round pool ?Nah he's a monster, but in captivity they don't seem to normally go passed 4 feet long (so far from what I've seen from other monster fish keepers at least) but it's worth it; Red Tail Catfish are incredibly fun pets as long as you don't have any small critters or kids running around. I know some dudes who keep Goonch and Piraiba which I can't even imagine cause Piraiba and Goonch have been known to grow a lot bigger! when Jeremy Wade was in India the people there said they had personally seen Goonch over 10 feet long, and a Piraiba in South America was weighed at 676 pounds (I guess there's no pictures but a book I have said a commercially caught specimen was 676 pounds, which is more than enough to swallow a grown man, and that has happened at least twice) I can only imagine trying to clean the tank on a fish that may very well attack someone in the tank LOL.
With Hannibal it's different though; He doesn't grab hands the way some other monster fish can, and he is more like a huge Flathead in terms of girth as you can see his head is REALLY wide. Personally I think he's adorable; he does hilarious shit too, much like a regular house cat would; He does head stands sometimes, and even plays with his "bio-ball" like popping it up on his head and swimming with it like he's playing a game LOL it's funny as shit watching him. He gets hand fed most of the time (Not like he's scared of humans LOL) and he swallows whole shrimp and big chunks of Tilapia which makes up most of his diet.
The raw strength of him is impressive though; He's legit figured out how to knock the lid off his tank with a single whack if he wants too and I've seen people catching these on the Amazon River where they're using Salt Water Reels and still almost get spooled! Totally awesome fish.
Bro this right here hit home… my wife’s father has been retired since he was 34yr old… I envy him so much I’m 32 and have maybe worked 300hrs on the books in my life.. trying to be Scarface the first half of my life really fucked me for the future ? but live and learn. I’ve been having him show me how to play the investment game. But to this minute I have no long clue how ppl retire before they are 60I like the bit where you retired at 53 . Jeez if only ………….
My father retired at 55 and got 31 years of retirement.
What’s the secret . A solid financial plan with a high paying job ?
An inheritance of decent proportion ?
Rob a bank ?
Send the wife to work full time ?
All the above ?
Ok time to drop a boomer ....and enjoy the outdoors...Happy Easter ....If was high...and now i shall elevate..
Amateur astronomer here. I have an assortment of mounts, optical equipment and cameras. I could build a small house if I sold my collections of telescopes..
Those are absolutely beautiful pictures. I've never seen so much clarity + color pop, especially the car pic shot from the top.Hope you had a time! I just revisited the activity last October after a 22 year hiatus. Whew!
I always forget about this because it's more of a general interest than a hobby. I've been into astrophotography for just about ever but it's never been a hobby.
Right now my current favorite astrophotographer is Richard Tatti, who brings two of my favorite subjects together, light painting AND astrophotography.
I don't have a DSLR or star tracker but I do like pushing the limits of my cell phone.
My favorite subject since I met my wife. Her brothers 1966 Chrysler 300 he left rotting in my F-I-L's backyard for the past 30 years.

Nothing great but I really enjoy hitting the "dark spots", setting everything up, firing up a joint and enjoying the crisp night air.
Until the lockdown, then things got weird.
?
p.s. I golf too but I hold the club wrong and it triggers the older dudes so I usually end up embarrassing their asses on the course after they repeatedly tell me that's not how I'm supposed to hold a club. I shoot par or a few under depending on how high I am.
Thanks mang! The one thing I've learned from photography is if you want one good shot, take 1,000.Those are absolutely beautiful pictures. I've never seen so much clarity + color pop, especially the car pic shot from the top.
Aint that the truth. Beautiful man!The one thing I've learned from photography is if you want one good shot, take 1,000.
Haha so true..I spent my late 20s and thru my 30s as a dog breeder..My daughter is a full time dog trainer and also a Presa Canario breeder .Taking shots of dogs are painful. Take 1000 keep one..Hard to capture what you want ..What my daughter has been doing is just run videos and cut frames from the vid...tech has changed ...almost like cheating ?Thanks mang! The one thing I've learned from photography is if you want one good shot, take 1,000.
