So , as I mentioned I got covid for Christmas while also not being able to use cannabis for an upcoming piss test. It has caused me some issues to flare up in my gut. Inflammation and infection , I have lost 20 pounds since then. Dr is saying Diverticulitis and I need to get a CT scan.
I say all this because I think if I was able to continue using cannabis. I don't think it would have happened or been less bothersome. My state charges me for my medical card to legally use it but then I can't use it because jobs here don't recognize it. But if you have a script for opiates your cool to work. I don't get it and it's messed up. Sorry just complaining/whining out loud.

Sorry to hear that brother, no doubt that the lack of meds had an effect. When I don't smoke I don't even want to eat bc of my stomach. They should be lucky to have someone as loyal as you. Hope that it works out, maybe God will send you a new job with chill folks.

You have to be careful with antibiotics cause they kill good and bad florua in the gut.
Saurekraut of the homemade type or keifer or kubochi all add back the good florua.

Just don't go with the treatment option I went with. My intestine was completely blocked off and it backed up until it burst. I drove to the hospital where emergency surgery was performed to save my life, and about a foot of my large intestine was removed. It wasn't a fun experience.
Thanks Bubby, I don't smoke at work except for when I was younger. But I do wake up early enough these days for a smoke and come down before heading in. But you're right, I feel like I'm a highly productive employee. I think that's what all these employers need to remember. You can replace me with a warm body but not my productivity.

The place my son works has stopped drug testing even new hires. They want proof of a med card, but no testing. This is a manufacturing plant with lots of hazards, but they are so desperate for help.
The rub is, if I have a medical card (prescription) and go to the hospital or jail, i wouldn't get my medicine!
I'm in manufacturing/ warehouse. Specifically I am just a forklift operator. No accidents/injuries ever. Forklift trainer. I enjoy my job even though it's just spinning wheels. But these government punks give in to business and insurance companies. I've asked and have been told it's because of the discounts they get if they test. But it really only affects cannabis users.
Hopefully common sense prevails soon.

Drug testing is all such bullshit.
I was in a dangerous trade and left because I got tired of the bullshit and hypocrisy.
Any incident onsite and anyone in any way associated with the incident was sent for a piss test. It didn't matter if you were on the other side of the site at the tool crib when it happened, you are on the crew so off you go.
If any metabolite of cannabis was found, the incident was blamed on 'drugs in the workplace'. It didn't matter what else happened, what mistakes might have been made by Operations or other crews, it was caused by the evil Weed and the dirty dope smoker. Case closed, career possibly over.
I used to work with a bunch of mellow potheads. Then dope testing came. Cannabis can take over a month to leave your system while coke and a lot of stimulants are out of your system in a few days. Suddenly I was surrounded by crackheads.
That was only one of the reasons I left, but the whole industry was going downhill.

Here in Michigan both are essentially the same in terms of going to a legal business and buying what you want and not worrying about jail over it, but once you clock in it can be a little different.

Which also DOES show up in drug tests however the Gaschrometography test required to tell the difference between the two, costs enough to keep most jobs from using it.... Like did I read this right? Meth and Crack heads won't get fired because if the shit even stays in the system long enough, there's legal options to work with and wiggle out ?
I know of at least two documented cases of Poppy Seed foods causing someone to lose a job. Mostly because the little blue Poppy Seeds you see on store shelves are in fact Persian Blue strain of the Papaver Somniferum plant. The reason they show up is that when you grow those seeds, the Opium is all in the "cap" which happens to be where all the seeds are.
I think I'd be more worried about working with someone who was drunk or all zombie'd out on Xanax than a pot head....Shit... I've worked in a lot of different jobs, and the fact that a shitty job will drug test you.... I mean come on now.... Even Govt jobs don't go too far into that with "sub contractors".... Can you imagine DARPA finding the initial Internet and making people at UC Berkeley pee in a cup? Hahahahahahahahaha! There would be no Internet. Sometimes you can get away with it, and sometimes you can't.
