Cleaning out some old stuff I found one of the first teardrops i made back in the 90's. Man the places this has been..those memories are vivid.


Found a box of all my old torches, and glass, powders, foils.

Anyone play with glass actively?

ive played around with the idea but my wife doesnt want me to dump that much into another hobby. I'm kind of a all in kinda guy, so i"d go out and buy an oxygen generator, all the tools etc. I am a deal hound so i'd search for everything used, I'm pretty good at snatching up people abandoning their hobbies. Thats how I got into brewing real cheap when I still drank.

Do you blow? I'm always in the market for custom slides, its what i collect. I love heady glass but I love money too. haha. slides are a good medium for me.

hey, so did you get all your stuff set up and get going on those Phenohunter pipes you promised all of us? (oh hey sorry, I went around and promised everybody you'd make us a bunch of pipes. for free, too!)

Nah I have no place safe to really set anything up, Havent done the beads, and pendants in forever either. More seeing if anyone was interested in gear if they are active. And its been yeaaaars since I was in a real shop and made a piece....I was just an apprentice really learning this back then...free glass, free use of a shop with everything needed....and a lot of time to watch the pros do what they do...try to soak it up...I remember lots of theory, but as we all know, the pudding is in the practice...

Would be a cool trade to be proficient in. I dont understand the $$ involved for pieces though. I get the craft and expertise involved but is it just about aesthetics or does different glass really preform that much differently? All the fancy shit I see selling for a mortgage payment blows my mind. Give me a $60 bong, $30 pipe and $2 pack of papers. I'm good and I'll retire 5 years earlier. Compound interest is nicer than a little smoother hit. Now with that said the folks who capitalize on this madness are artists and I salute em for their skill and efforts. Just dont get the $$ involved.
