Howdy friends, Been out of touch for a few. Went to the hospital first of the week to get myself back up to my old self. Tuesday the wound care specialist carved out all the Scuff in my wound which should allow me to heal faster. Then I had another vascular surgeon do and angiograph? on my left leg. Now they want to place a wound vac on my leg. If I continue down this road, I may have to bow out of the ass kicking contest. I've now got a hole just below my left calf, about the size of a pecan/ small walnut.
Even more respect to the wife, She keeps me honest and take better care of me than I do, occasionally. I've got most of my lifestyle choices in play, just need to get over this hump. FWIW green tea is no substitute for Mountain Dew. Sacrifices are being made.
Peace and goodwill amigos.

The Dew is tough man, it was so hard for me to kick. Been clean of that stuff for close to 10 years now. Harder for me to quit than cigs. Sugar is still my big weakness.

Hope ya keep on taking care dude, sounds like no joke.

Yeah, sugar has a real grip in the USA, it's in all the good stuff! I agree, it's as bad as quitting cigs, but I beat the cigs and booze already! I'm gonna be so frickin' healthy when I die . I have a case of Dew left, I'll have one a day, and when they're gone, it's another chapter finished!
The worst thing about my affliction is all the unhealthy shit is long in the rearview, I'll keep taking care and do what I must.

I sugar binge big time. I need to stop because my stomach tells me it doesn't like it. Need to stop now before issues start to arise from it. Don't want to wait until I'm 65 and experiencing problems. Now is the time for me to get serious about it. Need to grow fresh sweet veggies and berries to replace all the bad sugars.

Taking care of yourself and giving me some incentive in the process. Thanks.

G'day roz, that's some terrible news on your end. Not sure if this will help or not but look up Barbara O'neill and maybe Dr sebi.
I'm more than sure there might be a natural alternative that saves you having to have surgery. I've walked away from the pill, pharma western medicine after watching mates die of cancer and another just got diagnosed. It is a business that wants repeat Customers not to cure and heal.
Whatever way you head in regards to healthcare I wish you all the best. This world seems to let parasites flourish and good people suffer afflictions.
Take care of yourself mate.

Hey Roz, sorry to hear of your issues.
I have a case of Dew left, I'll have one a day, and when they're gone, it's another chapter finished!
Mountain Dew is poison, why finish the last CASE?
It's been poisoning you for years.....They changed their formula relatively recently but there isn't 1 good thing for you in Mountain Dew.

I agree but, they have me on a couple antibiotics, which has made me a mystical shitting machine! I can't drink coffee as that triples the effect. So 23 more days and it will be done! I've cut out the rest of the unhealthy items already but I have to defeat the rest of the urges.
That's some serious crap that they feed us. I just read the fact check you posted, YIKES! More changes!

One of the reasons, I usually avoid, or just will not take antibiotics, as they wipe out all good bacteria, along with the bad, in your bowel system, that is why the excessive exiting material.
As silly as this will sound, I'm a firm believer, as many do in the Eastern areas, the bowel is referred to as the Lower Dantain, or the lower gut brain
I'm not against antibiotics, at all!
I personally do not believe we need them as much as they are given out.
However, in a wound vac situation, of course they are needed.
I once tended a stomach wound, for some else, that needed 24/7 care.
It was the hardest 4 months, of time, I've done yet on the rock.
Once done, I'd look into how to rebuild your gut biome, it is simple, but very plain for while.
Man, I wish the very best for you Roz!!

I had my gut biome out of whack for a long time. My wife is the one with Diabetes and she eats way worse than me! I'm gonna drag her into this before she has a chance to argue. I got my gut back on track with Greek yogurt [non fat], Brown rice, probiotics and whatever fit the criteria. Of course now They have me on Bactrim and Amoxicillin twice daily for now so it's brown rice with Asparagus tonight, and old fashion oatmeal with strawberries cooked into it for breakfast. I've been looking at a supplement called Natto kinase, which is made with fermented soybeans. It is said to be very effective at opening arteries over time.
I have to do my own research, and I appreciate all the options and ideas presented to me here.

Kimchi and sauerkraut are dead simple to make. 2% salt by weight in a mason jar, seal, burp it in a week, refrigerate when it's done. It'll work on essentially any thick green like kale, cabbages, etc. All driven by lactobacillus. Far less expensive than buying it premade and more delicious.

Spot on mate, and if you make labs you can make continue on and it the curd (fantastic probiotic) or continue on and make cheese from it. You could also tip some labs in a glass of whatever you drink and down the hatch. Teaspoon Apple cider vinegar in water is great to for your guts too.
Willie, kanzeon all know the score. Get your gut right and watch your health improve.

Oh man, now we're going down the fermentation rabbit hole. Do we need to have a "What are you fermenting" thread?

First off, anyone who's curious should head to library genesis and download The Noma Guide to Fermentation.

Second, that same apple cider vinegar (bragg's is usually what I use) can also be used to start your own vinegars at home. And alegars, too (like vinegar but made from beer) used to make one of these with Guinness for fish and chips.

Fermenting hot sauces is really where the magic happens.

I think Willie or skunky set up something like that But you are right mate, fermentation is where it's at. Gut health, eliminating parasites and the right vibration in your body and its amazing how good you feel. The body is an amazing machine that is self fixing as long as you give it the tools, minerals etc.

You've heard the old adage salt is bad for you too much salt blah blah blah? If you have a headache get a finger dipped in crushed Celtic salt or himalayan salt and put it under your tongue. My headache is gone in 20 mins. It contains the minerals (electrolytes) your body has sweated out. Drinking water is great but it's not replacing the salts. Cheapest electrolyte replacement going around. Gatorade etc don't come close and at a serving cost of about 2c it's tight arse Tuesdays everyday care of frosty haha.

I'll check out that link here mate, I'm always wanting to learn more.
Good stuff mate

Yesterday I had my wound care doctor debride and remove any necrotic tissue from my wound. Last night was a total pain circus but I'm confident with the competency of my care team. I had a busy horticultural weekend planned but I think a few days rest may be the better way to go. I'll get caught up next week. Besides the major dietary changes, I've added supplements to address the cholesterol issues.
By the time it's all over, I'll leave behind a healthy looking corpse!

Best wishes Roz!!
I take red rice yeast everyday, and do 3-4 mornings with a bowl of oatmeal made with water, drop of vanilla, splash of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp honey. That keeps me just out of the prescription cannon range.
Sugar, is a simple store of energy.
Then we Frankenstein it into a horrible Kraken product, hydrogenated corn syrup, that our bodies do not recognize, nor process, then just gets dumped into the intestines, and murders your biological empire.
It's a fight for us all the time!

Well damn, I'm turbo posting again.
Now I've read this many years ago, well after my mom, passed away, as neuropathy caused her the most pain, or I would tried this one.
Our root balls, or maybe the waxy substances of them, may off some relief, when processed into a cream.
