Got some dark green foliage, mixed with some yellowing, through each plant it seems...at least in the pics. But, the soil should have everything it needs, perhaps in excess, so instead of trying to overcompensate.,.I just made a light mix of coconut and aloe water, and pots are pretty dried back ATM, so gonna give em a slow heavy watering for the night and let em ride out the weekend and see how they respond. Still have a few more plants to clone also in the meantime...

Otherwise, things are going smoothly thus far?

Wassup! Greetings? my fellow pHam-a-lama-ding-dongs!

Figured I'm gonna try my hand at something new tonight...

Was pruning and repotting some aloe vera recently. In my attempt to reduce waste and put everything to use, I held on to some of the cuttings...
View attachment 161334
First time ever, gonna attempt to root these here aloe vera leaflets. They look a bit rough and I could easily just toss them in the recycle pile, but I figured 'what the hell! Let's see if we can produce more plants from what would be "waste"/compost!

From what I understand, it's quite difficult to do, but I'm up for the try/challenge. Anyone ever tried/done this before? Any and all tips are welcomed and encouraged, thanks! ?
I've grown a few different aloes, tried to root a leaf off an aloe ferox after I snapped the main stalk. I gave up after a month or so of it sitting in dirt with nothing doing. Another tree aloe I have got root rot in the fall before I brought it inside. The bark started to peel off the trunk, thought for sure it was done for but then it started to send roots from the crown down along the stem between the wood and the bark. It was looking for soil, so I cut it off stuck it in dirt and off it went it's taller than me now.

Usually aloes will send offshoots and they're the way to go for propagation. I'm sure you already know that though. Good luck with your experiment, If it works let us know.

Ya, I honestly don't have any high hopes of success on this one. Have a feeling they're just gonna sit there doing nothing til they rot or I get tired of looking at em, whichever comes first I guess?

That's pretty cool the tree aloe rooted for ya tho! Thanks for the input?

I have a few leaves left that I think I'm gonna try another experiment with, cause what the hell ? Think I'm gonna try putting one in a cup with a small amount of water in the bottom. Another, I'm gonna try with a rooting plug. And the last one, I might just trying some kind of humidity, vs straight wet contact, approach. If that don't work then they'll just go into the recycle pile, where they would've gone anyway, so no skin off my back if I fail, but 'pHuck yeah!' if I can get one to root!!

Oh yeah man, give it a shot.

Does your Aloe Vera send out offsets? One of my aloe's has a bunch of offsets right now, have to separate them out every spring. At least they're easy to give away.

Yes, I was separating/repotting one when the cuttings were taken.

A lil update on the vagging tent.

Got a nice pair of cheeks ? over here with the BubblebOOty #s 2 and 3

They were the ones popped a week or two later than the rest of the bunch...They just got their first topping after these pics so we can start getting our bush on ? #2 has a dope looking double-serration and a loud stem rub that I'm both really digging on

Full moon coming up fast and I'm still undecided on wether I'm gonna flip for it or wait till the new moon to give everything a lil more time to get acclimated to their newish pots...

Aannd, scratch that! Yes I'm definitely waiting til the new moon to flip so they can get acclimated to their new future home/environment...

Cause this just showed up

This joint looks and feels really fancy to me... And I'm truly amazed at how quiet yet powerful it actually is! Super happy with this purchase!

The new 3x3 is due here tomorrow, which is going to be replacing the old raggedy tent these are currently housed in. In the meantime, I should probably read up on how to operate the settings on this thing ?

Thanks brotha! Yup, that's what we're going for!
You and the plants are gonna love their new environment. I've been wanting the new controller myself ?
I'm really ?excited? about it, if ya know what I mean!

Tent just showed up a lil earlier today. Time to get to it!

But, first, I'll enjoy some of this AlienOG S1!

Sorry, I didn't make a vid of setup... but...

Doood, this was actually the easiest tent I've ever setup, not to mention the nicest!

Here's my old junky joint

Which look(s) like shit, jacked up/uneven stitching, light leaks everywhere, and a pain in the ? ass to assemble and disassemble since day one... I've always and struggled with what I have experienced with to date...

Not this bad boy!!
IMG_20230404_203402279.jpg IMG_20230404_203450826.jpg IMG_20230404_205517960.jpg
Poles are super thick, sturdy, and all pieced together like butter... Literally! Which is probably where I've struggled the most in the past, getting the damn poles and tent to mate properly. Setup took maybe 15-20 minutes on this new one and was a piece of cake! Looks very straight, neat, and clean. Zipper feels super smooth, no resistance anywhere, but makes a solid seal, no leaks I can detect.

Here's my attempt at a video (after setup and getting plants moved in) to show how well it seals in light. I'm in a darked out room, with tent and lights on, did a walk around, then opened up...

Well I tried attaching, whether it works or not idk?

If not, I'll try again later... More updates to come?

AC seem to make all quality gear . I was after a tent from them initially but when they first advertised they had a delay on stock so I ended up with a SpiderFarmer tent which has been solid besides the floor liner losing some coating .
Looks like a solid product . I’d look at one down the track for sure ?

Yes they sure do... And I didn't fully realize until getting this setup. The quality vs price point is second to none. Very hard to find things of quality at such affordable pricing...I think I paid around the same price, if not more, on that crappy old no brand tent above at that time. You definitely wouldn't be sorry to grab one at some point in my opinion! ?

This was the night they went in, last week, after setup

Was seeing some yellowing, so started taking some action...

This was last night
IMG_20230412_181808506_HDR.jpg
Haven't really been able to dial it in (for vag) just yet, been struggling a bit, as some of that previous yellowing lead to some rust spots on some older leaves. But, hit em with a couple foliars over the last week or so, making adjustments on VPD, and new growth nodes are all coming back in green...

Here's one to iterate
IMG_20230412_182119080.jpg
, so I think we're getting back on the right track?

I'll leave em alone for about a week or so to sort themselves out, then we flipping this bitch!!?

Finally getting the indoor veggie garden started...been slacking way too long!
IMG_20230414_203426284.jpg
Got some: Cilantro, green onions, 3 varieties of tomatoes, 3 varieties of peppers, and 2 varieties of strawberries. Gotta get the lettuce and spinach seeds started tonight... Nursery didn't have any starts of these, but that's ok, the leafy greens grow fast from seeds compared to flowering/fruiting plants, so all good ?

MO_Grow

Underground Chucker
Started up-potting those veggies last night. Still gotta get to the strawberries... Excited to have some of those back going again!

In the canna tent, even though I have the new setup, I've been struggling with vpd... "Whatchu mean my old passive environmental tactics won't work here?!" Ya, they don't!!? Heat is somewhat easily manageable, by adjusting the lights and exhaust. But, my biggest struggle has been with keeping the humidity up to proper levels. I believe this is what's causing my deficiencies/lockout currently...or at least a major playing factor. Doesn't help that the weather outside can't make up it's damn mind either, eh!

The one I have currently is somewhat small and has LCD functions, so even if I set it to a timer it will only power the unit on and I would need to physically set the level myself still...so, not working for me? But, I'm looking to get a different one that I can hook up to the controller and finally get my environment automated and back on track... They're all droopy and sad looking, kinda makes me sad too.

...Gonna grab a new humidifier and see if they'll come back, but they look like crap and I'm honestly almost ready to just toss em and start over with their respective clones...

But, the clones I took finally started rooting and got solo'd up.

... Can't see in the shitty pic, but have some sprouting on both sides, just wet em again, they should be up soon?

Still in process of veggie tent transplanting

Mini split fan, hung low, to help move air/evaporate moisture around the root zone. It's actually more powerful, while being more quiet, than I originally anticipated...soo? I like it so far.

New humidifier arrived also...

Hopefully it'll help fix this issue...

Seed plant suffering... Multiple reasons for why...

Clone looking significantly more healthy...SlymerSnacks#1
IMG_20230423_190133402.jpg
Patience is running low with the older ones...

If I don't see significant improvements come this weekend, all these -seed plants are getting tossed in the bin, and the clones will take their place for this run...??

MO_Grow

Underground Chucker
Alright...the weekend has come and is here...although most plants are showing improvements in new growth currently, it's taking too long for my liking. Headstash is getting somewhat low, so I need to get something flowering soon.

So, I've started up potting the rooted clones tonight. I'll replace every seed plant for this run with their respective rooted clone, which are all looking much more healthy. But, instead of immediately trashing each plant, I'll put them off to the side for now, nurse them back a bit more, then take more cuttings before binning them, just in case there's a winner winner chicken dinner to be had there. There were 2-3 plants that cuttings just don't wanna root for shit, but the rub(s) smells promising, so those ones will be kept, just not flipped for flower til I feel they're ready... Maybe a few more weeks out I'm guessing/hoping, but hopefully sooner ?

But, in the meantime...

First up... We got

SlymerSnacks #1 @FireLakeSeeds @Smokieokie
Screenshot_20230429-184012.png
This plant/pheno was by far the most consistent in regards to cloning/rooting... Every single cutting taken rooted and within a reasonable timeframe too. I'll give her a week or two to acclimate to the new pot and environment before flipping.

I have x3 more that are already rooted and solo'd up, and I think x2 more under dome currently. I'll keep 1 of the other cuttings for a mother plant and I'm gonna float the others to my work homie that wants to grow a few plants outside for him n his pops for the summer. So, updates for my indoor to come on this one in particular, and I'll try to get updates from him on his outdoor later on in the season ?
