Why is it that cuts typically don't herm?
I really like that you say typically here because thats something I have considered, I wonder are these people that select cuts super genius or are they lucky. I do though remember something about hormones playing a role like the extra horemone the cut has to produce to generate roots precludes it from some degree of hermephrodisim. Thats probably a question for @Schwaggy P .

So I’m looking to up pot a few of my seedlings, they are outgrowing their 9oz plastic cups. The last couple of times I’ve transplanted them into their 1 gallon grow bags filled to about 60% and then finished filling them up after I sex the plants. I am thinking of doing this again. Does anyone see a benefit in me transplanting into an intermediate sized container (1-1.5 quart plastic)?

It helps build root mad quicker, to up pot like that. Better than small to big pots.

These were in starters for too long. They suffered for that. They would have benefited from quarts. 20200212_215543_HDR.jpg
Roots are like horses, you give them new space and they run the perimeter.
I am not usually a retail kind of guy, but I really do enjoy my taper bottom pots for veg. Uppotting is a breeze , because I can just drop it into the new medium.
I find fabric or flexible pots cumbersome for transplanting.

Not ready.

I guess that is another benefit to these tapered pots : you can just pop them in and out to check, anytime.

It's all realtime or hindsight, really, if they start circling it's time to up.
I just keep an eye on the bottom. Even a week or two. When the roots poke out, it's time for the next sleeve.
I was lazy on these ones, they went directly from starter cups to gallons.

I have trouble giving strong drink to minors. It is like a fake ID. I put them in bigger pots so I can start feeding them like big boys.

I believe there is a science and a benefit in timing the development of roots OR shoots.
That is 2 say, that during a specific time window it is possible to focus ( amend? supplement ?,manipulate ?,hormones ?auxins?) root development. Just as there is an appropriate window ( and corresponding regimen ?) to focus on canopy production.
I will just throw out a bunch of vocabulary words. Hopefully, someone smarter than myself will reconstrue them in a sensicle manner.

Cup
quart
gallon
4 gallon

I have been doing this for less than a year ; but that seems like the pattern I have fallen into. As you can see, I got lazy and skip the quart sometimes.

Did I answer the question ?
Was there a question? I mostly just like stopping in, and talking about the weed.

I can get juuuust about anyone to herm if I treat em bad enough. Some cuts no matter what won’t tho.

It’s a survival auto response type thing. Evolution.. creator s creative solutions.. who knows.
When lady senses conditions are rough and she’s not getting pregnant, she proceedes to f@ck herself and her friends. (Think sleepover pillow fight turned sexual)
Careful not to use her seed but the babies of her friends should be fine.

I’ve had two hair thingers (sorry if I’m losing anyone with my advanced terminology) coming out of each female organ plant vajayjay thing on strains that wouldn’t herm.. they were reveg tho. Still not one testicles even with reveg and dual c hairs ?

My deep Congo cut herms in the last week or two almost every time. Had a friend run it and hers didn’t.. ? I’ve concluded the d c does not like to get faded. When nutrient deprived, even near death, she will grow sterile, useless bawls and only a few.
The bubblegummer won’t play that shit. Not even once. And girl I’ve been meeeeean to that one. Hoooowee?.

Anyways so I ran one tester of the bubble x d c crossed and what do i see.. juuust a few late game bannanerz.. like 3 total.
So what I’m seeing is
(Bullet proof) X (only a tiny bit hermy) = (only a tiny bit hermy)
This is why we have to get beans from good reliable breeders with some ethics. ? i thought my cross would strengthen the d c.. didn’t do a pheno hunt of the progeny tho keep in mind.

Nice analogy on the horses to roots, I like that.

That was the part that boggled me on Shaggy's thread. How does it produce seed, in a veg cycle?

9 blades and infinite mysteries.
Cool stuff.
Because there's pistils and calyxes. Lol.
Even if only a few. They're still viable to pollination.
I've done alot of them on my vegging Citrus Milf on purpose, and accident. Lol.

I just got to be clear on this.

Having met pollen , there would be a seed in there?
???
There sure would be. All the calyx's that show once the plant is mature can be pollinated regardless of light schedule. Those pistils get pollen and a seed starts forming.
Yup. Sure would be like Mac said too.
An easy small batch chuck.

Dude a while back I had a male reveg going that kept tossing balls. I was busy and wasn't keeping up on picking them off and he dropped pollen on some monster cropped clones that had pistils. Those clones were making seeds while they didn't even have roots! It was pretty crazy to see that first hand.

Lmfao, I've got some revegging boys that have done the same thing to my veg room on the momma plants in there. Hehe.
So I've got "who's yo daddy" seeds.
???
It's a new strain I'm working on. Rofl Lmfao.

I gave Red Headed Stranger x CnC it’s first go this morning. She is a frosty sticky beauty. I loaded her into my leaf vaporizer.

Her smell is garlic and stinky onion skins left in the sun with a hint of sweetness hiding out in the background.

Her taste starts with garlic, onion, and copper on the inhale and a classic sweet old school dank taste on exhale.

Her stone is nice and mellow, very functional (I just did the dishes). She has a nice focused feeling, with a bit of introspection and an overall positive feeling.

My first impression is that I should try to keep the reveg going, even though she’s been growing a few nanners while trying to revert her.

Give her time. The second and third run is when they come into their own imo. Should have the bugs worked out once she's more established ?

Hey @macsnax, thanks for the advice. Update on Mimosa x DDBs, I lost one last night. They both grew tails, and were transplanted into small plastic cups. They kind of stalled once in coco. One was still wearing it’s helmet last night, I tried giving her a light squeeze with the tweezers to see if she was still growing under there, and the whole thing split from the tap root. It looks like it was dark and necrotic inside of the bean. The other one has lost her bucket, but is looking pretty tough. I’m trying to decide if I should pop a couple more, or run what I have. I’ve got 6 seedlings and the two possible reveg plants in the tent now. Depending on how the sex ratio shakes out it could be good or it could be crowded.

Lil hack for the stuck helmet is to use a pipette and place a drop of water on it a couple times a day. It will help your seedling shed the shell...... Lol those kind of decisions will keep your mind going.
