Choose the Breeders

Learning what others look for and see in plants when choosing breeders is a huge learning experience for those wanting to dabble in producing succeeding generations.

We all pick up bits and pieces from reading boards and sites like phenohunter but getting into the mind of some of the breeders here would be awesome to learn and the purpose of this thread.

So here's our contestants

These are LA Woman about 9+ wks old. All are healthy and I see no genetic defects. Flipped at 6 wks age and took 22 days to show sex. Conditions are far from ideal. Day temps have ranged from 50F and rain to 80F and sunny. Night temps were down near freezing at 34 to mid 50's. Grown with 15hrs of light a day using LED bulbs. 10hrs of light a day since flip and lengthening. Grown in half gallon pots of coconut coir and Masterblend nutes.

So, 1 or 2 and why? What do you see positive or negative with each?

I would go 2 based on height and lower branching.
What's nose like on these thing?
Skunky lemon on #2 and a fresher lemon and pine on #1. I too favor #2 but #1 is larger faster and look at the canopy. If you're looking for larger plants and doubling after flip #1 is your boy. I try to top mine 3x's to produce 8 main tops which gives me a good harvest and why I'd choose #2.

I agree with everything stated.
Based off nose alone I would choose 2.
So 2 it would be for me.

No. 2 for the branching. Are these autos? I'm thinking about doing some autos, can you put your finger on why? I'm not a breeder get out of my head.
Regulars. Sorry for failing to mention that. I grew a couple this past summer and really liked the taste and high. Even took some on vacation. I planted on a whim, seriously. I hadn't had a seed pop in like a month and panicked. Go figure but here we are. Personally I don't find either male desirable but need to produce more seeds. All my seeds are getting old and germ rates are around 10%. Gotta make new seeds of everything and use those new zips I ordered and keep them in the fridge. Wonderful technology?

We're all breeders or wanna be. Good seeds are expensive and I tell ya nothing beats smoking your own that you've been working with for a while. You really get to know the strain and it's different expressions. It's worth the time and space given, always. Pick a favorite and work it for a few generations choosing the best of the best and you'll see what I mean?

Myself loving the lemon & foul skunky smells would work with the #2 skunky lemon one if that was my deciding factor between the two.
I'd compare how loud either is as well in that choice. If i was serious about hunting something and nailing it down I'd run both, and then choose after seeing the whole plant grow out, and what they do for me.

If I was after a preservation run for more seed, then I'd run with them both for the diversity of genetics within the strain. Then I'd use those seeds to narrow down the pheno hunting once I had more stock to work with to chase a line.

You need to elaborate.
Whats your reasoning, other than total opposition? Lol
To start with the over view
#1 is straight Full and pushing
The vines in the main is unreal, look at the last pic of 1..

I want the biggest and strongest player on deck...

There always, ways to Slow down a plant, but you can't make them grow faster than they can...

Do I need to go on...
