Eat it or deadly?

The last ones do appear to be the "cinnabar red" chants, they're really tasty, too. A better shot of the underside would help confirm.

Is the difference between cinnabar and Jack's a simple answer? Or... if not simple, some information you have? I' m getting better at identifying, but I always learned from old timers... guess I'd rather hear first hand from someone who's eaten them. Can't trust the internet ya know. 🤣

Those are Canthatellus cinnabarinus, good eats!
The toxic Jack o lanterns (Omphalotus illudens), has real gills and is orange all the way through. The Chantrelles don't have real gills, they're just ridges or wrinkles. The larger orangish ones are white in the center.

Depending on the bread, and the type of spore, it could be regular mold on bread, or it could be a ticket to space if it's Ergot.

Just a heads up, picking it off isn't super helpful, because the rest of it is growing without showing, so it can still make you sick. Freezing doesn't help either, which I used to hear back when I was a kid, but it doesn't kill it either. No wonder I puked so much when I was a kid LOL.

When I'm not sure of a species of Mushroom, I sometimes make some shit up. This is a Butter Cracker Mushroom.

These I did know; Chicken of the Woods! That log was massive, and we harvested a good 10 pounds from that, and most of it was still left.

I’m a wuss when it comes to that stuff! I never ate around it but now I’ll have a good argument when someone tries to tell me to!

I have OCD, so my idea was generally "I'm not hungry now" or whatever I could think of to not have to eat it. I love Mushrooms, and I'll eat those all day, but their cousins.... LOL.

5. Can't tell, need a shot of the underside, photographing the entire stem helps, too.
See, now you HAVE to move.... and yeah, you can tell if the Wife took the picture; way more detail, and multiple angles to see those things, where as I'm like "oh look at the Mushrooms! Pretty! I want pictures!" Lol.
