Fat Man Can Grow

Hey guys,
A couple shots of the current grow. Tomorrow they get a “haircut”. I’ll defoliate and lollipop them give them until Sunday to recover and then move them to the 4x4 to sex/flower. They are currently under 150 watt (actual draw) LED at 75%. The 4x4 has 400 watts actual and I’ll SCROG them once I get the boys and girls separated. I’m assuming if you’re on this site you know HOW to grow. So I’ll refrain on tips and tricks. I’ve explained my process so this thread will be more updates on what I’m currently doing. I’m sorry about the quality of these images. I’m actually a photographer that worked with a Discovery Channel hit show (until one of the main cast was convicted of child molestation) so I have the equipment and know how to produce some awesome pics. Just bare with me. I’ve attached a Macro image that’s part of my photo portfolio to give you an idea of what’s to come. For those of you wondering what show I worked with. I’ve included another shot as a hint.

PEACE...
You knew Will , I like that guy a lot, Such a shame Did he really do what they say? I never followed up after show was pulled

Yeah, he was found guilty. We had no idea. Steph later went on Dr. Phil and bawled he touched her breast once when she was a teenager. I’m not saying I don’t believe her but the entire time I was her “best friend”. She was Will’s biggest cheerleader. Just to give you an idea of how close we were. During one of Will’s Birthday bashes they rented me and one of my Primal Girls a trailer like her and the rest of the discovery crew were staying in that weekend. Funny thing is Steph ragged about the girl that was molested mother as a gold digger. I stayed out of it but we (Primal Studios) were stained by association. One day I’ll post the intro script I wrote. If staff will let me as it’s off topic. F609961B-C245-43E3-9D92-5D3224AD6A03.jpeg
only posting this as no ones face is visible. But one of my models shooting a WW 1 maxxim machine gun.
This will be the last off topic pic I post, sorry.

Yeah I’m actually in “Russian Roulette” along with one of my models. They actually filmed a show about us and they (Jupiter Entertainment) acted like they were going to air it. But my friend Fred (who they do use as a character on the show) saw productions story board and we knew they were going to screw us. In the end you see her and I in the background when they fire the cannon with no explanation as to who we were. It’s also my voice you hear telling Joe “Yes Sir” when he’s talking about the target. They tried to steal not only my idea but my cast as well. But they didn’t realize I had legal contracts and non-comp agreements in place. That SCREWED them in the end.

So this grow (my first in almost a year) has been a learning experience and these plants have paid for it. With LED’s I’ve had to learn dimmer levels and distances all over again. These plants have suffered for it but show why they’re chosen strains to grow. Well I let someone get the better of me for critiquing one of the things I do, ladybugs. Well to prove a point I did not set up a ladybug colony in the new 4x4 and.....

View attachment 52099 The kiddies are suffering for it... See what I get for letting certain people get to me???

I’ll be setting up a colony for this tent Tuesday or Wednesday when the ladybugs get here and we’ll see these problems go away like they always do.

I'm not seeing what's wrong with your plants...they look good to me ?‍♂️

Purple stems are not genetics on these plants, juices being sucked out. Also chunks of eaten leaf. Sorry if it’s not visible. I thought it was obvious in the first image on new growth. I’ll shoot a few more images after I make my next post.
I've always attributed purple stems to cooler temps (I see a lot of purple stems in my garden, and I definitely run on the cooler side this time of year). However, purple stems by themselves don't necessarily point to anything being wrong. Some plants will show their frustration with cold temps, but that usually manifests as slow growth and deficiencies IME. I just culled one a couple weeks into flower for this very reason. I'm thinking it's not critters causing the purple stems.

As far as the ladybugs, I think it's an awesome idea. If you think there are critters, then get the ladybugs back in there. Can't see how it would hurt, though admittedly bugs are not one of the issues I have to deal with (knock on wood).

Here’s a couple other things I do some of you may do as well. I use ladybugs for pest control. They’ve always worked for me. But just like your plants you need to make the lady’s feels at home by building them a home to breed and start a colony in.

I modify a box as pictured above.
1A4557AB-5869-425C-AAD4-2FE5C4F0A387.jpeg I fill that box with wood chips AKA Hamster bedding.

I then cut the bottoms off solo-cups and into one place a sea sponge and the other raisins soaked in water.

The Sponge and raisins are placed into the box through the velcro’d flap. Both are filled as needed with soaked raisins and water in sponge. This keeps a portion of the lady’s in the box/chips mating w/ food and water available.

Easy access and closure.

I have all other bases covered but I was taught that when you rule out everything else to include genetics that it’s mites sucking the lifeblood out of your babies. Add to that chewed leaf pieces not just on new growth. But regardless if adding ladybugs makes this go away, as it does in my experience. I’ll do it every time. Thank you for your kind words. I may be wrong but long as it works....

Are you doing Cal/Mag
Another thing I do is boil water and then sterilize everything I use to make compost tea. My bucket, stone, tubing.

Just something I was taught.....

I agree Plants look fine, are you seeing any mite damage (white spects on fan leaves)?
Yup, that’s what I thought was evident in the first image. Also not all my stems are purple just the ones with damages leaves/affected areas. I had this problem in the 3x3 until I introduced ladybugs there. Because I did not transfer the colony. It reared its ugly head again. I’ll post pics a week after introducing them. Willing to bet the problems will go away. Also my temps are 75-79* during the day and 70-72* during the night. I keep my RH at 53-58% and feed with compost tea every 3 watering. Otherwise I water with molasses and Seaweed extract (1 table spoon Molasses and 8 ml of SW extract per gallon.) Everything is PH’d to 6.5-6.8 and my soil PH right now is 6.6-6.7 between all 4 plants. I just top dressed them a few days ago with Dr. Earth’s Flower Girl 3-9-4 as I’m flipping them at the end of this week. They’re getting a feeding compost tea with the following recipe:

5 Gallon Water
4 Tbsp seaweed extract
8 Tbsp Urb (URB Natural ™| Unrivaled Soil Microbes: Increase Yields, Reduce Inputs)
4 Tbsp Molasses
1 cup worm castings
1 cup organic biocompost (NO MANURE)
1 cup living soil
1/2 cup Dr. Earth Natural organic all purpose 4-4-4

As I said I have most everything locked down.
