G's Trees

Hey G,
Always excited to watch your trees grow.
I have a question or two if ya don’t mind.
I know your trees are in 150 gal bags. Do you reuse the same soil every year, or do you need to freshen it somehow?
I have read about living soil but have zero experience with it. Would you classify your big bags this way?
I won’t ever be able to grow outdoors, so that is probably part of my fascination. Just curious.
Here’s hoping you have a killer outdoor season!
Cheers,
WillieP

Same soil. Been using it for a decade in some cases. The only thing I use fresh soil for is light dep. I mostly topdress in early spring with some glacial rock dust, oyster flour and alfalfa meal, after I chop cover crops if their are any and top with some compost and fresh straw.

G,
Thanks for the reply!
I had to look up glacial rock dust. ? (Learn something new everyday...)
Follow-up questions.
When you first started your bags, what did you fill them with? Was it a type of build a soil, or living soil?
With this grow method are you able to use just water? No need to add anything else?
And lastly, I would assume that your grows would be considered organic then, is that correct?
I appreciate your time and patience, just me being nosey.
Cheers,
WillieP

When I first started, I was not very well versed in organics so they were just filled with 707 and some chicken manure, bone, blood, and feather meal. When the time come to replace or upsize the bags i have just transferred the old, added whatever new I need and rolled with it. I generally topdress every other week with +/- pint glass of terp tea once they get going. I give them teas a couple times a season. I used to do way more amending and all that but the less I do the more the plants seem to like it. They are weeds after all.;)

Final tally from the latest pop. We lost 2 this morning, the muttered prayers were ignored. 1 momosicle and 1 gmo rb had helmets that refused removal. So it stands at 4/4 pigs, 2/4 divine swine, 3/4 momosicle, and 2/4 gmo rb. These will get a nice veg. Planning to put at least 1 momosicle and 1 gmo rb out to light dep. Really wamt to see if I can coax out some rb terps with the cooler outside finishing temps. I am only a county away from where these were developed, so climate should be right.

They could be considered organic, I suppose, but that is a loaded regulatory (cash grab) term. I do add non organic bud candy during flower because the organic version did not impress me enough to warrant an additional $20 a gal.
You Da Man G!!
Thanks for explaining your method.
I will enjoy watching your big girls do their thing!
Cheers,
