I took all the great advice and put it to use. A big , Hell yeah! and thank you, to the PH crew. It smells and tastes great. It will definitely turn a bad day, into a awesome evening. View attachment 114220
have no luck at all in pressing and ball making -- just have podwer keif (dry ice method) tried "frenche's" method no luck - I mean how f'en hard is it to make a dam ball or press - what about this get a small "puck" press and once tighted you heat it to seal teh hash ?

If you want great hash you just use the 45 160 and 220 bags....You can press it after as well for very good yields.

And to me the best of all bags for quality and price...get the rosin evolution 4 bag set.. its amazing the difference.

I am a fan of the full spectrum for my medical needs and I still am firm believer in Frenchy's methods...I do not need top shelf 90 a gram rosin..which is what jag is making.

I slather RSO dabs i make on papers...works great...less filling.

Jag is showing us the pinacle of hash making...and it is BEAUTY

For me...man this hash and stuff i am making now is the best i have EVER smoked...and that is beauty for me eh.

Lets all make some hash...get the bags and DO IT...you surely can...and the product is most wonderful

hello all - did a wash earlier this week with fresh frozen buds, a couple of strains, but individually - the patties are mainly dry now and ready for rolling and storage

Instead of rolling it with a bottle like Frenchy, I use my dab press - set at 75degrees, and just keep working it in there in between parchment until all the heads are broken and its ready to roll.
A couple of grades in there, the 73 and the 25 - I use the 220 wash bag, 160 trash, 73 and 25 keep - generally the 25 gets used for food or something unless it is decent enough which every now and then it is 2E9DDFEE-5086-47DE-B660-B96B955D9272.jpeg

Not fully bashed, so a few more twists and turns through the press and it shoudl be ready to store.

happy hash making all

That is the sweet spot for sure. :D Good hash...well there is truly nothing like it.

As I make it more and more i realize that.

When I was young, so much younger than today....hash had a ubiquitus flavor....black hash.. THE BEST... omg what a pile of shit.

I make the best hash ALWAYS....and it can be brown...tan...reddish...etc.. IF that shit gets gooier in a glass jar...that is GREAT hash... the terpenes soften it up over time.

And the flavors are incredibly more nuanced than 'black hash' I have 4 hashes in rotation now and they are very unique in high, flavor and burnability :D

Hard Hash lacks terps... I read that yesterday from a science paper on hash....or ...something. I was pretty high

I love that you posted this right now because just last night I started to think about using my dab press instead of a bottle. Im far from a connoiseur and actually kind of prefer my janky hand pressed dry sift but its awful time consuming to sit there for an hour at a time rolling it and ive just never had great results from the bottle. Im gonna give your method a try tonight, I have a little ol pile of sift ready to go from my GMO RB and HS33 x Bahlki trim 20221127_142949.jpg

Truth be told a rosin press has to be better...a controlled...always very specific heat.

I bottle roll...bubble. I might just do that as well. A nice even temp of control...not too hot...like 150 F....ooze into yourself.

And...man i have some not bottle rolled hash...its terpy as ...well i have no comparison...real nose burning awesome fire terps...

Hash is most awesome...the only true cannabis perservation method...since god made hash...Thank you YAHWEH...

that pile looks splendid - i ran the press at 75, it still took some working but came out lovely and ready to roll. I did a bit after the run pictured and did it at 90 and there was very little difference in the final product. Happy pressing, look forward to seeing that lovely pile turn in to beautiful hash

I have good luck using the hot water bottle. A couple of things help.......a water boiler and a bottle that's not too big. I pour it right from the boiler to the bottle and it makes short work of it. The bottle I use is a Tapatio hot sauce bottle........it's a nice 1 1/2" cylinder. Oh I also use a pair of latex faced gloves as that shit is hot! I also roll the hash in parchment paper instead of plastic. Mostly because the plastic does not like me ;) but I think parchment paper works better.

Next time you hw roll add a few drops of water to the kief first. It will make a big difference. I found I couldn't get my dry ice sift to hw roll without that water. Same with kief. But a couple of drops worked great.

If you are going to make water hash or bubble hash.............freeze all your trim now. However, if you are going to make dry ice hash let the weed dry . That works for me, everybody does it a little different. Currently and after doing a dry ice run...I dry everything. It works out for me because I trim for bud first, then for rosin 2nd, and hash is whatever is left. Popcorns are getting pressed not hashed. :)
LOL, this is no longer the method I employ.
The new method is freezerless method which is also the argument free method. Keeping 6 lbs in the freezer for long periods causes friction ;). New parameters as follows
1) I'm only doing this once a year from now on
2) I don't put any of the trim in the freezer and I dry it all
3) Wait for the exterior temps to be right at freezing. Fill a 55 gallon Brute can with water and let that sit for 2 days in those temps. Also put the weed outside to chill.
4) make ice
5) Run the washer outside until done

I started with twelve 1 gal ziplocs of weed.approx 6 lbs. Then 28 lbs of ice and 55 gallons of very cold water. That yielded 131 g's. I used two 5 gallon bucket set ups. The one bag set has some tears in the 25 bag so the yield shoulda been a little higher but it is my best yield to date. When I collect the bags I mix the 73 and the 120 bags together for my full meltiness. Those get formed into balls after hot water rolling. Then I mix the 25 bag and the 160 bag and that get formed into squares. It can be smoked just not full melt. I give most of it away but it also works for edibles.

that's my story and I'm sticking too it (for now) :)

For me the larger bottle works better, 1.5L. I set the oven at 175-185F put the bottle and a pizza stone in. The pizza stone works ok for the first pass or two but isnt completly flat and I dont want to break the stone. See above reference to "argument free method". We have a slate or marble island that is much better suited.
I put the stone on the counter to pre warm it and cycle it and the bottle through the oven to keep temps up.
