If anyone has an interest, here is the current water-only soil I use. Gracefully provided by Lubdanugs elsewhere.
  • 8 large bags of a high-quality organic potting soil with coco fiber and mycorrhizae (i.e., your base soil)
    • (This can also be your 1/3-1/3-1/3 peat/pumice/compost as listed below)
  • 25 to 50 lbs of organic worm castings
  • 5 lbs steamed bone meal
  • 5 lbs Bloom bat guano
  • 5 lbs blood meal
  • 3 lbs rock phosphate
  • ¾ cup Epsom salts
  • ½ cup sweet lime (dolomite)
  • ½ cup Azomite (trace elements)
  • 2 tbsp powdered humic acid
This filled up two large municipal rolling yard waste carts. I added about 10 gallons of water to each and let it sit for 30+ days. When you first use it and water the soil it reeks (think blood/bone) so indoor gardeners should prepare accordingly.

I will note that the past two years I used Swami & Coot's modified Cornell recipe but it always ran light on nitrogen even with teas and top-dressing. This is their mix:

Base mix
1 part high-quality compost
1 part pumice or perlite
1 part sphagnum peat moss-no additives

Food
1 cup Fertrell fish meal per cubic ft of base mix
1 cup Acadian kelp meal per cu ft base mix
1 cup basalt rock dust per cu ft base mix
1 cup pacific pearl oyster shell powder

I made a trip to a local buddy's place to grab a few cuts yesterday. It turned into a bit of a session. I couldn't grab a few I wanted because they were late in flower and the only copies. (primarily Phinest Garanimals and Phinest Slurricane) but here is what I did get:

Capstone Purple City Genetics
Cuvee Cookies Phinest
Meat Breath Phinest
Rocstar Phinest
Lava Cake Phinest
MAC F2 #1
MAC F2 #2
MAC x AAW
Sundae Driver
Sundae Driver x Purple Punch
Wedding Cake x ADUB

We all have people that we have looked up to in our quest for better cannabis. I turn 50 this year and I first grew as a teenager. Back in the mid-1980's my hero was Ed Rosenthal and Jack Herer. An amazing amount of my early knowledge bank came from the Ask Ed articles in High Times. Then when Ed bailed on HT it was Jorge Cervantes, who excited me a lot less.

By my early 20's I went from mentee to mentor and began guiding people in the PNW as I went through and cleanup gardens with a long-time confidant and canna-partner-in-crime. (Fuck you Benny, the Yankees still suck!)

Today, as I learn to navigate the floating stepping-stones in the swamp of de-criminalization, I find that heroes come in many different shapes, sizes, experiences, and colors. LOL. (They are not all white dudes with beards living off the grid on a mountain top!)

May I introduce to you someone that has worked behind the scenes for many years in medicinal plant science, and my current hero, Hemant Lata, PhD.

lol

Funny how this kind of shit lives on forever. Good stuff.

Baseball will always be a thing between us. He's a Spankers fan and I'm a Braves fan. I still love the guy like a little brother but he's in Vegas playing Russian roulette. I keep waiting for that dreaded phone call. Not if but when.

When we were kids we had a standing bet that the first of use to get to a 10 pound harvest won at life. I crushed him.

I am screwing your ns x gs 7 ways to sunday (along with the rest of my garden). This was tough though cause I am choosing strawberries over bud, but I am learning more about my lighting from the strawberries than the bud so thats why. I did get one into flower but had to cull it I think it was phytotoxicity of a spray I am using on the strawberries. Just moved the last one in soil to flower and the other 2 are taking to the hydro transition well.

Holy cow did things go sideways while I was out of town. I came back to a dead Meanwell driver and thank you Jah for having one waiting for me here to complete my second light. 15 minutes after realizing there was no light I had the new driver installed and glowing.

I found out that Meanwell HLG drivers have a 7 YEAR WARRANTY!!!

Anyway, last night (Day 10 of 12/12) I pulled everything out of the tent for sexing and some personal hygiene. Remember that this is the Apollo seed run so I put a few other dumpsters in there to catch pollen. (Blackwater x 3, NS1, Col x GDP, Duct Tape, 88ghash, etc)

Of the 9 Apollos I have 3 ladies, 5 dudes, and 1 unsexed. Most sexed within a few days.

Don't mind the blood. That was me nipping my fingers TWICE with my bonsai scissors.

You don't hear about those going out often. How long have you ran it?

Arent they supposed to be like 50K hours, or am I thinking of COB led's?
I am pretty sure you are thinking COBs but there must be a reason the drivers have a 7 year warranty as well. I imagine both have about the same lifespan
I think I was confusing it too. 7 years at 24/7 is more like 70000 hrs. I don't think many are running them 24/7 for years though.
