You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We ain't too pretty, we ain't too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
Aw
, but that never hurt no one

Every time I hear these lyrics, for a few seconds I'm a long-haired, head-banging teenager again, running with my little crew of almost criminals. :)

Wow.

Even with a 3rd party client and no account, youtube is doing its best to suck me into a rabbithole of stupidity and conspiracy bullshit.

I clicked on a video from Devo about their 50th anniversary and it had "de-evolution" in the title. My suggestions immediately populated with shit about a lost continent that was found last week and other "stuff they don't want you to know".

It would be funny if it wasn't so dangerous.

Algorithm anarchy!

This isn't anarchy, this is the exact opposite.

Anarchy means without purpose. This is incredibly intentional and has a very clear purpose: to drive engagement by any means.
The original "aarchy" in Celtic just meant a land without law, but yeah, as the Dead Kennedys would tell you; "Consume!"

Feeling Irish and irascible this morning and the Pogues fit that mood nicely.

I hope you're rotting down in hell
For the horrors that you sent
To our misfortunate forefathers
Whom you robbed of their birthright
To hell or Connaught may you burn in hell tonight

Genetically, I'm at least 3/4 Irish. I don't need booze to be who I am.
It was a stereotype joke. Sort of like how I call Whiskey "Irish Cough Syrup" (Which works by the way) :)

The Pogues song Streams of Whiskey is the one I changed into Fields of Cheese.

By the way; Being Irish, and an Angler, have you seen the record sized Pike in Ireland ?? I think I saw a 60 pounder caught there.

How is Dolly in the RRHOF before Joe Cocker, just to name one of a thousand?
I love Dolly, but re-recording classic hits with the artists doesn’t mean your rock & roll!
Ya, I’m cranky. :stoned:

Me too. Huge fan of her as a writer, performer, and human being.

That said, I've seen her new "rock and roll" release described as "karaoke" by critics, and have no interest in hearing it. It's the kind of thing that would be cool to see live, with her doing a walk-on for a song at someone's show, but there is no need for an album.

And yeah, Cocker was a beast, especially live. Do you think the RnR HoF being in Cleveland and Cocker being a limey have anything to do with it?

Honestly, I don’t even know the criteria to be inducted, but seems like some artists are a no brainer?
Ozzy want in as a solo.
I mean, there's totally some people who should be in there, not because they made a bunch of Rock, but because they helped music get to that point. Hank Williams has a Rockabilly song (Move it on over) and Wanda Jackson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, and Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash was one of the founders of what would become Rockabilly, even though he didn't really make that style so to speak. I can understand why Dolly would be added in there, as a lot of other musicians were fans of her.

Ozzy should be in there twice.

I shot a doll in plastic,
Just to watch her die
When I hear that song start playing
I hang my head and cry
It's not like Barbie Girl is as bad as some stuff. It's a nice little dig at materialism and phoniness, almost subversive in its catchy pop wrapper, but Johnny should not be singing it years after his death.

I think if he'd heard that, and it was Johnny in the 60s, he'd have shot Barbie himself.
