Music and DISCUSSION Thread

Did a double take when I heard this for the first time today.
First 15 sec or so I was thinking someone must have found an unreleased bowie song or something

I know change is permanent but got to love when a sound puts you back to another time and without it being ai, don't tell me they used ai:ROFLMAO:

As a Devo fan for over 40 years, I'm really enjoying this interview. Lots of little details filled in and some oft-repeated truths debunked.

I'm only about 1/2 an hour in, and the most interesting part so far is about the Kent State murders by the National Guard from someone who was at the front of the crowd when it took place. He shares a pretty incredible take on how it happened.

Every time I think of Kent, I think about Skinny Puppy. Tin Omen is a great song and he references a period two years before it happened. When I think of Devo, I think of back when I used to huff Nitrous Oxide...Whippets good.

Hope it's a wonderful holiday season for you and your family, Billy.

Thank you bro :) Other than my Uncle passing away Christmas Morning it was pretty awesome. I decided not to think about it for the day because, well, Christmas isn't about us, it's about a celebration of a Birth. I decided I was going to think about that instead.

I absolutely love her power, range and control.

I'd only heard ever clips of her doing the screamo stuff. This is the first time I heard her actually sing. I liked it.

For me, the cookie monster voice can be very cool but it's hit and miss. As a meaningful part of a complete song it can be great but growling for the sake of it gets old.

I feel the same way about guitar solos. If it adds to the song it can give me goosebumps. If it's just seeing how many notes Yngwie can fit into 60 seconds, it bores the shit out of me. I guess that's why Randy Rhoads is immortal and Malmsteen is a Scrabble win. ;)
