I'm a huge fan of these boneheads. Their version of Talk Dirty to Me is one of my all time favorite covers, which amuses me since I hate the original.

YOU hated the song??? Son (comedic effect here, no disrespect meant) I worked in strip climbs for 3 YEAR!!!! That song and Clarence Clemons “Strokin” get my vote for most hated songs.....Just Sayin...

I may have been seen to disrespect the late EVH in the other music thread. I want to be clear. I was not dissing EVH, I was dissing Eruption, not Eddie. I love Eddie's 'rhythm' parts, that's where he really shines to me. This isolated guitar from Dance the Night Away is a great example of that. So musical, playing for the song, not for himself, and so very creative. He has an unmistakable tone and musical voice. I really respect and enjoy EVH, but Eruption is not interesting to me.

Everyone really likes this song until it dawns on them what it’s actually about. Don’t know??? Listen to the words carefully.

I still like it. It's fucking art, and art should deal with difficult topics from time to time. Not atypical for Patton lyrics, either.
I knew what it meant in 1990, and I kept singing along. Karaoke is not a crime. The subject matter, though, we can agree that's a crime and not okay, which is what makes the beauty of the music itself an artistic juxtaposition and redeems the song as edgy art. Golly I love that man as an artist. So dedicated, so talented, so not giving a fuck about trends or normalcy. He's amazing, as noted many times by better people than I.

Go find this (even on faith no mores channel) where they haven’t muted parts of the lyrics. It’s insane.

That's the way I feel about the Kinks tune I posted (coincidentally called Art Lover), and I agree that good art should push the boundaries and provoke both thought and emotion.

Art is a representation of EVERY part of Life
Joy, Pain, Pleasure, Misery, Anger & Sorrow - there's a song for every emotional turn we experience as humans.

We use art to communicate with each other - political, religious, rebellious or about nothing at all.

@Inferno Mike - did NOT see that coming in your "Something Completely Different" post - well played sir! :punkrocker:
