I wasn’t intending on doing a vertical, but this refuge from the FX had to be supported after transplant, seems to naturally want to lay flat?
I think it will be cool to try.
I’m wondering if I can string a scrog net over the plant now against the wall and work it from there?
Do I need to hold it off the wall with a trellis frame to create air circulation?
A loose scrog would support it?

Could probably just shove a bamboo stick in there and a few ties may be easier

Well, I thought the humidity would come up this time of year.
It’s been 45-48%, which apparently my plants do not like.
I have a big Ideal humidifier, but it puts out a serious fog and to raise it 15-20%, overkill!
I decided to run a little one to see if it would work in this much area.
It’s perfect set up on a Inkbird, but refilling will be a pain.

I decided to try mounting a float (one I had) inside the tank.
I have two different styles, one the hole is not large enough.
1EF6952F-5A2E-40E9-A47B-C7DD67BDFA61.jpeg

Drilling the hole could be tricky, not to shatter. I went slow with just the weight of the drill.
It did not drill through, wanted to catch. Finished the hole with a chainsaw/ rat tail file.
CAUTION: Verify the top and bottom of tank! ? F6754547-35F7-4757-8747-0CE9231D9AC0.jpeg
If you follow my path, you will be drilling a second hole in the correct end.
I have an emergency drain now!
This is a float i have.
5D1E28B5-F0F7-4610-99FF-33796DDE49BD.jpeg

I ran into a snag, 1/4” supply line to 3/8 push in connector. On order.
I am wondering if this valve will handle pressure, its for a rez top off gravity feed.
Until I get the fittings?
Are these valves pressure rated. 2E6DF291-C882-483F-944E-AEE631C81E95.jpeg 867D3C94-BA35-4492-A2DC-B9A665A6E5F1.jpeg 49B1B807-C503-4478-A07F-B70377927A37.jpeg

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaa buddy (y) I have another humidifier coming tomorrow, but it's not that type of design. It has a remote and a lit up screen, so I'll need to figure out a way to cover that up while still allowing it to receive the remote signal. I really like this idea. For the time being, I don't mind filling it up every day if needed, I got too many lines n hoses as it is lol. I may incorporate this in a future build though ;) The one thing I learned early on was to not cheap out on any floats cuz they are the weak link in your system.

Time to apply that to a Keurig? :coffee:

Not sure why that popped up, you guys with all this VPD science! ?
Looks like it will work, that Inkbird makes a difference too.
You don’t really need a solid top, if you can cut it off without it shattering?

I think someone should do a proper tutorial, I just slammed this together.
I’m really good at cutting my welds off too.
The extra hole should tell you something! :stoned:

I remember you talking about a little one? I’ve messed with them, it works just right, if you can auto feed.
I wonder why it takes me so long for some stuff to snap, this is so simple.

Keurig ??

yea a little half gal (?) under a gal for sure. dude I tell ya we influence each other more than we know LMAOOOOOOOOO ? ? ? I'm all VPD rn too lol

Thanks Aquaman ? really though, it was great timing cuz I just set up a couple fresh environments from tent to system to lights, and was wanting to do this. I'm not sure if it's working, seems to be tho...at least the numbers are getting dialed in lol

FYI- Leaving the supply line open, once the float drops to let more water in, it consequently acts as a vent.
This is great if you want to water something underneath it.
I have taped mine up until my reducer gets here. 29E22314-0378-4D3C-B215-B8403B9D4DE8.jpeg
I swear, after bumping the % to 70, plants are responding. They’ve been pretty lethargic at 45%.
Damn you guys, you know I don’t like homework! :stoned:
I guess I’m going to have to by a pen....to write stuff.

Seriously, I appreciate you guys hanging out. Definitely making it better!

VPD in hydro gives amazing gains... Once you get that dialed in then you add CO2 and you plants will start to terrify you lol

Tape didn’t work on the valve, after swapping out misters, I realized I could have loosened the valve and turned it over. Gravity to hold closed.

The fogger cloner is done, had four that developed roots. 038D64FE-C93E-4CC3-8380-C1EEB8E11818.jpeg
Moved them to solos and the f & d with the Berry’s.
Just started flooding twice a day. I have no idea, I’m trying it. They’ve been reeeaaally slow getting any traction?
Had good root start, starting to go. Temp/ humidity are coming together, really does make a difference, doesn’t it. Science, who knew! ?

The two bottom middle a clones stuck in plugs, still no roots?

The Grape Pupil/ vert is looking pretty good to me.
I have a yoyo loaded, holding her on her tiptoes. )
It looks like the plant doesn’t stretch up much with vertical lighting. The top development is different?
I’ve got three 288v1 3k blasting her in the face. 36k flux
She’s not cratering, so light is working. 11F41F5F-2676-4235-B1DF-49E1DEA13ED5.jpeg
BB7FCE9E-3DEE-4734-AF8E-2F0EEFE4B297.jpeg

I’ve really made an effort to get things lined up in terms of following the VPD chart.
It seems I’ve been lazy, thinking the humidity would pick up, it hasn’t.
The plants have been not been happy, some less than others. The tallest ones seem the worse, needed to top feed longer.

I wish I knew how to pick plants that will run together.
Clearly with this wad, no considerations in that regard were taken. 70A93887-36FF-4B6B-8192-6829C8854CF6.jpeg
It’s just now crept up to 6.4, thinking about just knocking it down no longer than I’ve been going, not even sure, but these little things couldn’t put much of a dent?

Phosphoric acid for ph down? Or mix of citric and other?

When you change out, do you get volume before adding silica and nutes?
I’ve shocked the crap out of mine a few times. (
It’s confusing to me if the silica needs to go first (so I’ve read) if it’s not a full swap, avoid a serious ph spike?
The nutes bring the ph down, but after the spike.
Can’t really ph as you add silica, too low after nutes.
Make sense, no me either :stoned:

Premix the silica in a gallon and ph down then add slowly
