I may not get to that project for a bit. I've got the Blue Magoo preservation now, and then the 90's Blues preservation and hybrid project up next. After that, I'm not sure. I really want to grow my couple of packs of Lavender Aura from Bodhi. I've got seeds for decades.Dang man, wish I would of known that, wouldn’t of held back three.
Sending them, I want to see the results of that and some seeds!
A project idea did pop in my head today though. I want to make a purple Skunk. So maybe use Family Vault Purple x @Schwaggy P Affie Skunk. I've heard rumors that Urkle is possibly a Skunk x Paki, or maybe something like that. And that's kind of the type of plant I'd want to shoot for. More narrow leaves, grapey skunky flavors, fat buds, good potency. I dunno, I'm rambling. But it sounds like a cool project. Or maybe use Ole Slew Foot instead? It seems like it's kinda Skunky?? No idea what Ole Betsy is..
I need to sit down and plan out the next year or two of grows. I have so much to do.

From all the Urkle I've had, I dont recall much skunky about it. I recall on the Menegene episode of The Potcast, he talks a good bit about what Urkle likely is and how it differed from the other purple stuff from then and there.

I love the lavender aura. Did one big one outside that leaned to the urkle side of things. Mine was a slow grower and not a heavy producer but the flavor and high were really nice. The buds were grinder dense but small and compact. I think a solid pheno hunt would yield something special for sure.

It's been years since I have smoked Urkle, or what was said to be Urkle at the time. I don't remember much about it in terms of smell. I've always heard that it was grapey, berry, and skunky. Some people say it smells like Nag Champa too.
I tried GSC at the same time as Urkle, and the GSC was stronger (I thought). But it was all commercial black market weed, so you never know what was what. It's easy to slap a name on anything. I do remember the GSC had me high AF, stuffing a cold Taco Pizza Hut pizza in my face in the back of my boss' van.
I have heard that Potcast interview with Mean Gene. Gene thought it was some purple Afghani or Paki thing that a friend of his mom had, or a derivative of it. I lf I remember correctly. I remember talking to a grower named Lean Green, and said that NSpecta from CSI thought that Urkle was a Purple Pakistani x Skunk 1. In his Potcast interview, I believe he said as much too.

To further complicate matters, a lot of NorCal guys I've chatted with on forums say that the Urkle cuts they had in the early 2000s had really broad leaves, but the Urkle cuts I've seen in pics today look to be more narrow leaved. So I don't know wtf is going on.
I heard somewhere that Ms Jill was claiming that Subcools Urkle cut wasn't legit. But it was on Rollitup where someone said it. So take that with about a salt shaker of salt. If Subcools cut isn't legit, neither is Bodhi's. Because it came from Subcool, to my knowledge. So what we have is possibly a mystery.
I do know the cut goes for like $1500 from the big time cut sellers on IG. Like Lazers Library, I believe he goes by. He told me that price, and my jaw almost hit the floor. No cut is worth that to me. I'll keep popping my own seed, and seed of my friends, and I'm sure I've already found something just as good or better. The fact that it's hard to get the cut is probably the main reason that I want it. My friend in Michigan had it, and passed it on to someone who didn't like it, and tossed it. I like purple weed. Especially potent purple weed, which Urkle is (so I hear).

Yeah, what I had may or may not have been the real deal, I was just going on what I was told, but the buds looked exactly like they should of via internet pictures. Flavor and shit was good. potency was good. I'd say it was a very overall average smoke, nothing was particularlly great about it. certainly not 1500 worth for what may or may not even be the real deal. Some real interesting tidbits in there for sure.

I think the real selling point is that everyone wants to breed with it. I think it's another one of those cuts that isn't so great itself, but is a great building block. That would be my purpose for it anyway.
Oh well. If it ever comes my way, I'll definitely grab it (who's to say it'll be the real one?). If not, I'll keep growing and selecting what I like from seed only. I could get some of DJs breeder cuts (Flo, BB, etc), and some other quality clones from a friend (he has several), but haven't taken him up on it yet. I probably can't breed with the DJ stuff, even crosses, so it does me no good to have them anyway.

Awesome!! I'm really excited to grow mine. I just have a ton of other stuff to grow before I can devote the time and space. It would take probably all of my tent space to grow out 2 packs at once. Especially if I want to keep cuts.
Maybe I'll do one pack at a time, and take cuts of the females, while collecting pollen from the males of each pack. I could then flower the cuts, and pollinate those. That's a lot of effort, but probably worthwhile to do.

My apologies for the lack of posting lately. We got a new puppy, and I have been busy with keeping him out of trouble. I didn't plan on getting one, but I guess the universe said otherwise.
I've mainly only got pics of him asleep, because when he's awake, he's a bit of a menace. My kids named him Ripper. Lol. They did it as a joke, because he is such a big baby, and they wanted to give him a scary name. I wanted his name to be Plisskin. As in Snake Plisskin, but they didn't like it.
Anyway, here's Ripper.

I haven't had a non plant Dog in a while, but in Michigan I can legally have a "Wolf Dog" as long as it's 98% Wolf or less it's legal. Still thinking over if I can get an "Emotional Support Leopard" or Jaguar but I'm not so sure that'll work.
