That's what I was thinking too. We only have 72 inches of headspace so we'd have to train and scrog to keep the canopy under control. I used a 600w back in 16 with good results, I just couldn't grow more than a medium size plant, which is fine. Quality is more important plus the HPS will help keep our basement warm this winter.
I did some of my best grows with a 600 hps I like this kind of journal the family that grows together stays together !!!

@SSGrower I used a male from the seeds you sent me and pollinated a cut ✂️ of @macsnax Double Dawg Biscuits. iirc their were similar genetics in the lineage.
I did a little digging.

DDB - Lineage goes cookies n cream x stardawg x purple stardawg.

RHS - williams wonder x tom hill haze it was a cut from la Conte's in denver.

cookies-n-chem is cookies n cream x stardawg.

The only light leak I've let go because it's up the stairs on the landing and not affecting the garden plus its much dimmer than it looks in the picture. The more the sun slides to the south the brighter the bears get. Black plastic sheeting soon behind that leak.
That was the best acid of my life lmao. That was long ago though. Hope everyone is having a great day! 20211010_134058.jpg

Good morning, I hope everybody's day started off on the right track. Im feeling good today and that's great because the wife is back to work today for the first time in 3 months. Here's a few pics from last night. Topanga I think will flower out just fine. She's progressing like she's supposed to now. Everything else is doing good. Almost harvest time for the glue sniffer. It's a good day. 20211011_011018.jpg 20211011_011003.jpg 20211011_010929.jpg 20211011_010924.jpg 20211011_010700.jpg 20211011_010731.jpg 20211011_010533.jpg 20211011_010627.jpg

Insomnia really sucks but at least I have a garden I can tinker with in the middle of the night because we run lights at night to save on energy. The only time running them at night sucks is when work has to be done, it's 8pm and by that time we don't want to do shit....well we used to at least. Sitting and laying for 40 days really made me slow things down and really appreciate the little things. Having a wife as a growing partner who is also my best friend is a great addition to life. It's one of the only times we get alone time. Little things used to give me big anger and I've really tried to work on it. Im still very prone to letting dumb shit piss me off right when I wake up before I can even get some coffee in me. We have autistic kids, my 17 year old son is very high functioning and he's gonna be my pro wrestling star one day. He's big, strong as a bull and very smart especially his mouth lmao. My daughter is turning 12 on the 16th, probably middle of the autism spectrum with most things but a few things she is very low functioning at. Drs said she'll need lifelong care and that's my job until the day I take my last breath. She can get very mean, angry and tantrum prone from something very small then a few minutes later very loving and happy. Im just glad she sleeps 10-7 every day and isn't cursed with insomnia like I am. By 10 years old I was having it almost every night. Only thing that helps is ganja which I found at 16. Waiting for a plant to harvest when there's no good smoke is hell lol. I even tried a klonopin and that didn't even sag my eyes. Well I guess I'll stop this late night banter. I added a 100w QB to the left front side of the 4x4 so there's 570 watts in there now. Here's some random pics. Rest well everyone!

Ps. It sucks hanging lights in that tent. It's shaped like a house lol. They only give u 2 small poles to hang shit so I have to macgyver shit. It's not pretty but it works. I still have another of these QBs that I can hang in the back left if needed. 20211012_004208.jpg 20211012_004617.jpg 20211012_004719.jpg

That light that is kicking ass in our 3x3 just had a huge drop in price. The other more powerful models are on sale too. This is a great light and is growing better, bigger buds than the other tent that was more wattage.

We're having to switch our plans up a bit. Here's why.... our dry tent is in our basement. With all the lights and the dehumidifier set to 50% the temps are getting up to 87° lights on and we're only about to get it down to 77° lights off. Them are horrible drying conditions. So the autos we were about to start in our upstairs closet will be started later with everything else so we can use that closet for proper drying. We'll be ordering a vivosun 4" inline fan filter combo tomorrow along with a mini dehumidifier and a jar of Onablock. With the temps falling and a few tools we should have temps in the 60's and Rh 55-60%. I can't let all this nice flower turn to hay.

Also, I'm at about 75% strength wise. Shit still hurts but on a way more tolerable level. I can finally garden on my own again now that my wife is back to work.

I've had bad luck hanging below 65* in high humidity, those were the only times I've ever gotten bud rot going on was when it was chilly and humid like that.

I'll be paying very close attention to things. I've never had bud rot in 15 years of growing. I've had plenty of really nice looking flower ruined though because it was too warm and dry when it was being dried. Im going for at least a 7 day dry and with a dehumidifier in the closet keeping RH in check we'll be all good.
