Yeah man, super heavy buds too! This cross definitely has potential. I want to try some more Afgooey crosses now
You n me both. I have a pack of the Blackberry Banana Kush (Jaws and Bad Dawg from yrs back) that Im planning to run next round, but Im now thinking I might run through a couple of the Afgooey crosses I have as well after seeing your pics. I love the stature of your pheno #2 you posted and I wouldnt mind getting some of the smells youre getting either.

Is the Afgooey the same as, or a sibling of Afgoo?...one or the other I'm sure by the name but ?. Who's breeding with these?

But, anyway, I remember scoring some Afgoo from one of my plugs back in the day, high school, roughly 20 years ago, and I remember that shit was some dank ass rope! (That's how we talked back then, lol). That was around the same time I remember scoring some, what was called, AppleJacks from a different plug, and some Skunk from another local plug/friend from around the same time, give or take a year or two. All of them, as I remember, fucked me up proper like! 1 hitter quitters is how I/we referred to them back then, and after all these years of smoking (took my first toke at 11, and smoke on the daily), and now growing, I still remember these strains very fondly. Gives/Gave me that Half Baked, first-time high, fucked up in another dimension type feeling... And I was no beginner when I puffed these.

Sorry, I tend to babble at times?
Well according to Wikileaf Afgooey is just another name for Afgoo! All I knew going into it was that Afgooey is a landrace Afghan Indica crossed to a Maui Haze that's supposed to lean to the Indica side. I smoked some years ago and really enjoyed it so I've been looking forward to this one for a minute. Bad Dawg uses a specific clone only cut of Afgooey known as Ma Gooey, but I know very little about that specific cut

Also, I just wanna say, I'm pretty jealous of your high school weed connections lol. All we had back then was beasters, outdoors, mids and schwag. I didn't smoke really good weed until I got my hands on some super silver haze my junior or senior year of high school... It was a revelation

Nice, i grew out some of the Dream Beaver F2's that Useful had made as freebies. They were pretty great! However, I was being super heavy handed on the feeding that run, so I think nothing had actually it their potential. So i'm sure those are gonna be fantastic. Sounds like its gonna be a great run :)
Good to hear! I've had my eye on these for a while but I was late to the Bohdi party so this is the first chance I've had to take a look at them. There's actually only two beans so fingers crossed for a female.

So I just sampled the Gelato 45, and I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. It's not bad by any means, and in fact it's quite good....but is it worlds better than something I could just grow from seed? No, it's not. For me anyways. I feel like a lot of its attributes that make it "elite" are more geared towards commercial growers... it makes buckets of rock hard, thumb size nugs with excellent bag appeal. It's easy to trim and it is pretty tasty.

But as for the actual smoke, I'll take the Apple Sundae I grew at the same time all day, everyday. The Gelato 45 isnt even particularly strong. I'm sure the terps will get better as it cures but I had pretty high expectations based on looks alone, and I can't say they were met. Totally get why you would breed with it or grow it for profit though. But I would've liked a bit more oomph.

Yea good luck with those! You should give them a good scuff as well. I’m suppose to f2 these dream beaver for Useful freebies but only got 3 to fully come up. I’m hoping for a male.
That afgooey is in that dirty hippy too which I guess you already know from running the hippy slayer 33.
Cannaexotics breeds the ma gooey and pure gooey into several of their crosses.
Everything looks good like always man, that reversal looks perfect! ?

Ya, I guess I did have a few good ones. One of the few perks of living in Cali I guess. Used to hate when I'd go visit family in NM cause they just had 2 kinds...brick and greens (or high grade) which was mids at best! My cousin used to buy brick weed for like $20/ounce. Looked and tasted like shit, but got us high...eventually ? if you smoked enough it would creep up on ya!

Funny story, after I smoked the Skunk, I was high as giraffe balls! I was convinced that it was laced with something cause I couldn't remember ever being that high. I was walking around the CVS (pretty sure it was called something else back then) floating in cod 9 man...I called my dealer/friend and literally asked him "hey bro, what the fuck did you put in this shit?!" He was like "what?! Nothing!" I was like "naw, you put something in here cause I'm high as fuck!" He laughed his ass off at me?

Couple from the Bad N Boujee... really excited for her, smells completely different than anything I've got in my stash at the moment. She's spicy!

And here's one of the first Brutal Thunder. Shes also giving off a really interesting nose, but way fruitier than I expected. But more sour fruit than sweet fruit. Her lowers are super seedy from the herm but her main colas look mostly clear so I should have a good bit to smoke still 20210530_225530.jpg

Arbor Drugs?
Maybe, but, No.. After some thought, it used to be called 'Long's Drugs Store' then changed to 'CVS'. I'm on the west coast, it may have been called something else, elsewhere...like Carl's Jr here/Hardee's if you're more east, depending on where you live...

The point, I guess, was that I have been fucked up many of times while walking through this store in my younger years. And mostly due to very young, yet fond memories, of being high as shit off some cannabis of yesteryear that still holds place in my heart, and the same species of plant we all here love and embrace so dearly?

It's kind of random so it's hard to say. I've lost 6 of 30 so it's not like it's a majority or anything. And they're all in the same soil, same starter plugs, same amount of water, under the same lights. They all looked fine for a week then over the next week they just started drying up. Definitely not damping off, the polar opposite. Just no root growth. It's weird. Wondering if some are just succumbing to stress. I kind of threw them into the fire
Probably the soil mix. I've had trouble trying to start seeds in Happy Frog before...
