All those beautiful flowers would raise anyone's spirits!

You got any info about that Skywalker Ghost Kush? I've got a cut that's supposed to be a cross of Skywalker OG, ghost, and triangle, but the guy I got it from doesn't remember who or where it was from. I've done a little research, and hope it's Skywalker OG, and not Dutch Passions Skywalker, but haven't narrowed it down for sure yet.

Thank you. They have been a good reminder of why I need to keep pushing forward in these trying times.

I don't have much info other than they were female freebies from Seed Supreme. First time I've ever gone through a Euro seedbank. I couldn't find anywhere that had the oldskool I was looking for and they came with the purchase. They were from F3s. No breeder attached. I am impressed by the vigor for an F3. As well as the Amherst Sour Diesel and Green Crack (by way of Humboldt Seed
Organization) that were a part of my purchase. The Amherst really intrigued me due to the lineage - pre-90 Chemdawg x Amherst (Massachusetts) Super Skunk. Typically Sour D variants have 91 Chemdawg involved. We'll see how these smoke in a few weeks. Looks very promising so far.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Happy Friday everyone. Stay positive through these rough and unknown times. Just seeing these beauties lifted my spirits and reminds me of why I love to grow.

Ah, ok, yeah, I think we have the same thing, regarding that OG. The source and story sounds the same as I got from him. It definitely looks OG in veg, but I got it from an outdoor veg plant, and while my cuts been rooted for a week or two, it's taking it's sweet time to get growing.
How's she compared to any OGs you've had? Does she have that smell, etc?
I would think with all the genetics supposedly in it, it would be a hell of a representation!

Got any more information on that "pre 90 chemdog"? As far as I thought, the 91 was the original?

Thank you. I am not a pro by any means and my garden has not received the attention it should. But they are coming out very nice. Partially due to @HydroRed F&D tote design. Just about automatic.

I've never grown anything OG surprisingly enough. I've grown a TON of cultivars and none of them had OG lol. I will get smell and smoke reports out in due time.

The pre 90 was what caught my eye. I've been searching for the quintessential Sour Diesel for a long time, even before growing. From what I understand, there are several variants. The first would be East Coast vs. West Coast Sour Diesel. ECSD is quite different. More "soft sweet" vs "sharp fuel." Then there are the cuts. I hear AJ (Asshole Joe) cut is supposed to be the main one that everyone is used to. This would be a "West coast" cut. I have never grown that. There are several cuts from Northern Cali Emerald Triangle that also make the "Sour Diesel" lineage. One being "Rattlesnake Diesel," which our friend @Schwaggy P works with. I also have personally known of a cut coming from 707 that was like no other, very sweet and a bit of fuel, and an addicting smoke, cuz there was zero anxiety, only euphoria. So it's really all over the place. You are correct when you hear of Sour D coming from 91 chemdawg. Amherst could simply be a variant from the original fabled story many of us know. The pre-90 chemdawg is the claim from Humboldt Seed Organization. It was the closest I could come in seed form that I felt was from a reputable source. Very stout plants with heavy colas. I will provide smoke reports after harvest n cure.

Thanks Capt. It is likely due to limited space in the small tent and heat. Otherwise everything looks good in there. It has truly been a really hands off maintenance free grow, especially after I removed the slow growing plants as per your suggestion. Thank you.

I always look at fox tailing as bonus flower material that would not normally be there although in my case it seems to be more genetics. I can't imagine dealing with the kind of heat you have been going thru so far this summer. WTF did Death Valley shift over a little bit?. Still have the new girl friend with you? ( canine verity).

It's always been this hot here. And yes new doggie is still here. Have not found her owners, even with flyer postings and a trip to the local park to see if anyone can ID her. My old boy has been trying to adjust. He is EXTREMELY intelligent and emotional. Funny. Even at 14, and a gimped out leg, he beats her at fetch. Her long ass legs, she can take 5 deer prances to his 17 running steps. But he still wins most of the time. He's an OG MF when it comes to ball. I literally have one of the best pHeno dogs ever. I wish I could clone him lol.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't wanna come off as an elitist or snob, but I do want the correct lineage info out there, as anyone should. Also, there are always at least 3 sides to a true story...

So, if you haven't had OG experience, smell for lemon, pine, and gasoline smells in late stage flower and in the bag, and a soapy smell burning.

The original Chemdog, sprouted in Massachusetts, from bagseed bought at a Colorado Grateful Dead show is now known as Chem 91 Skunk VA, because a forum member called Skunk VA kept the cut safe, when Mass G got busted and lost it... It was the only publicly confirmed cut, and is now considered the original by those in agreement.

The Chem D, Chem Sis, Chem 4, 1, etc, came from subsequent seed pops by different guys involved in the original purchase, in different years, between 94 and 06, I think. If I recall correctly, Chem Sis was "B", and there was"D", popped by Chemdog himself in 94 or 5, and Chem 1, 3, and 4 was popped by Joe Brand later on.

I dunno if there's any older, more knowledgeable folks here yet, but feel free to correct me!

As far as Sour Diesel, that might even be more convoluted. Even the originators aren't sure who was the father, last I heard, but it's basically narrowed down somewhere between Super Skunk, Northern Lights, and Hawaiian... Or a cross between... But the mother was the original Chemdog cut, now known as Chem 91 Skunk VA.

Where it went from there is where it gets foggy. Some say AJs cut is the original, but I think the accepted consensus is that Chaco's cut is the original. I know AJ is in the East Coast crew, but I've heard it's different from the Chaco. There's different stories about what cut went where when, but either way, Diesel originated on the East coast, so West vs East coast Diesel would've come afterwards. I think West coast Diesel is daywrecker/headband, and I won't even speculate on their relation to the east coast stuff, other than they do seem close. These include folks like Loompa and 707 and their diesels.

I wouldn't personally trust Humboldt Seed Organization ... Aren't they the ones out of the UK who named their company close to a reputable one, actually out of Humboldt? I wouldn't trust anyone in Europe to get real cuts before anyone in America... Just closer relationships geographically.

I would, however, trust Schwaggy P in his research of provenance... And he chose a Humboldt Seed Organization Green Crack to work with, so take my advice with a grain of salt lol

I do look forward to your harvest and smoke reports!

Great insight, and a good look into history. I enjoy the background almost as much as I enjoy growing the plant. Your recap is close to what I remember reading. I am also coming from personal experience, so it is "tainted" from that regard. I was mainly looking for that Sour Diesel that I so fondly remember. We'll see how it turns out. The plants do look very stout and healthy FWIW. I am also running Green Crack from HSO. Should be done around the same time. I am looking for the "mango" Green Crack (aka Cush with a "C"). I just needed to get some of this back into my stash, as it's been so long since I've had anything that isn't a cookie variant.

Yes Schwaggy is extremely knowledgeable and reputable. Hopefully one day I will be able to run the Rattlesnake Diesel cut he has. I believe it comes from Laytonville, CA, so right in the Emerald Triangle.

I definitely feel ya... That's why I've been been looking for the original since I lost my unspecified "Chemdog" I had about 12 years ago. Pure lemon gasoline Sativa funk! Schwaggy, where you at with that 91??

I wish you best with your quest for a great Green Crack... That 7 week, Sprite flavored Sativa that got so popular, or something even better! I still have a few bagseed from some about 10 years old or so.

Yep, that's the guy.... But, ironically, if I was looking for the best Chem 91 representation, I wouldn't go for lucky dog beans. He doesn't use the Chem 91 mother cut for much in his crosses, but uses his Chem 91bx males crossed to other elite female cuts. That's why I chose Schwaggy's stuff to work with instead... And I guess even that isn't as Chemmy or stanky as you'd think, and so the world turns lol

Then again, maybe the father lends the funk in these cases? Who's got some Lucky Dog to confirm?

We all hope Schwaggy will be back soon. Truly a compassionate, great person. Who loves to preserve and proliferate the oldksool funk. How do you know schwaggy btw?

If you're down to trade for those bagseed, I'm down. Green Crack - never got the Sprite, I remember heavy mango sweetness. However - Snowcap. Now THAT'S the "dirty Sprite" I've been after for a LONG time. Along with Cat Piss. Yea I said it. I am not a cat fan, but I do like me some Cat Piss Weed lol.

I don't know Schwaggy, but was a fan since his RIU thread, and passion, and details regarding the plant... Plus he worked with interesting crosses! I never actually talked to him, but asked a couple unanswered questions in his RIU thread. I know he disappeared around the Covid thing, and was worried he was a victim, till I saw him reply once here since then. I don't want to push him, in case he lost someone close, but, damn, I wish he'd come back and post!

These green crack bagseed aren't doing anything here, and have no priority, but they're so old, I dunno if they'd even crack... But you're welcome to them if you want!

We are all hoping for a Schwaggy comeback. Absolutely standup man, and loves Cannabis. He is near and dear to our hearts, and is a part of pH staff.

I may take you up on that Green Crack. Let's see how this batch turns out. I sincerely appreciate that offer ?

What type of hydro do you run?
