I’m usually a heavy rock, Metal enthusiast but there’s no one like Johnny ?? .
To me, Rock'n'Roll is an attitude, not a musical style. Johnny Cash embodies this.

The difference between pop and rock is that you may be able to imagine a pop star as a person, maybe someone you could have a beer and a laugh with.

A true Rocker is kind of like a big cat in the zoo: fascinating, but dangerous. You get a rush from being around them, but you are grateful for the bars/stage keeping you safe. Even if the person who walks off the stage is a pussycat, if he's doing his job, you should be a little bit scared of the person in the spotlight.

Johnny Cash, Bon Scott, David Alan Coe, Hank Williams Sr, were all as Rock and Roll as it gets, and I doubt any of 'em ever played a power chord. :punkrocker:

I worked on Gene Simmons Family Jewels - rigged their wireless cameras & mics.
Got a side job from him building edit bays at NGTV. (a project he had/has)
Had lunch & dinner w/ him a few times w/ crew.
REALLY nice, SMART, generous --- and definitely the BIG CAT in ANY room.

Amy Winehouse was a rocker, too. I prefer being alive.

Gene Simmons
You're wonderful, that's a legitimately super cool story, and I'm glad he was pleasant for you to be around. That is not everyone's experience.
Mostly I want to say, there's no way he's smarter than maybe 70th percentile, at best. He's a successful guy, he's an opinionated guy, but he is not an especially smart person. His IQ is near the top of "normal" range, maybe. I am just blindly guessing based on...things I'll choose not to share.

But I'll share this! <3

Probably true.
I should have qualified that with "among rockers" :stoned:

Oh, he's definitely the smartest guy in KISS!
I apologize, I'm not a fan of the man, but that is not a judgment on anyone or anything else. I loved Destroyer when I was 10-11 years old.

Sounds like it was a pretty badass job to work on!
