I’ve actually checked out a lot of your tugs on YouTube . The Moran company tugs I like . I’ve spoken to a couple of the Captains on them as well . Mainly about the conditions ( ice and snow ) that they work in . Some of those barge moving tugs with the mounted high steering helms so they can see over the cargo for oncoming traffic look awesome. So unique being purpose built . Get me on one of them and I’m in 👍🏼. Don’t wanna play with ships anymore . If i could just push cargo up and down the river while sitting on my butt drinking coffee and letting my gut eventually reach the steering wheel I’m cool with that or am I asking too much ?

Oh Mate honestly I could do with a change of scenery but knowing you guys you probably drive your boats in the right lane as well and I’d end up that dickhead Aussie always coming at us in the wrong lane . Plus I’d need at least 5 years to acclimatise and am I allowed to wear flip flops to work ? I’m pretty sure somewhere in the world they sell Steelcap flip flops . My own backyard would be a good start .

I hated to see that you're having this sort of trouble, especially considering how long you've been at it. I hope things turn your way. If I win a lottery we'll buy the place out and you can shadow boss them for a while so they suffer some before the big reveal that you are the ultimate authority.
The wife and I got a bit of a jolt this morning, my stepson who I hold as dear as my own ran into a spot of trouble in the middle of the night last night. I can try and keep it short, he was on his cycle and made to go around a car on the right, as the car was signaling to turn left and nearly stopped. The car turned right instead of left and put him down. He's ok tg but before he could even get up a pack of asshats jumped out the car, with the driver skipping the part where you say "Are you ok ?" and going straight to "I just bought this car" and looking to smack our boy up. The guys buddies kept him from doing that, but were themselves borderline threatening at times, at one point telling him if he took any pics of the car, the plates, or them, they'd beat his ass. Genius move that, he carries.
It all worked out, he didn't have to draw on them, info was exchanged. The car dudes called the cops and the cops said if nobody is hurt, we're too busy to come. Fantastic. I have already told him that I'm proud of him that he didn't draw BUT this is exactly the sort of situation you carry for to begin with so I hope if their fuckery had gotten beyond threats he would have used it because they didn't give a shit about him, if he'd been laying there with a leg off they would have left him.
This was in the basically downtown Cinci neighborhood of Clifton. It can get kind of squirrely down there, he's had cops tell him that they won't go in there after 9 pm unless they just have to and this was about 2:00a. We've been gently working on him to come over here and live the quiet peaceful existence of bogbillies, maybe this whole thing will move him our way on that.

Holy crap ! That’s exactly how someone gets shot . The Adrenalin starts pumping pretty well as soon as you sense bodily harm and being well outnumbered you’d feel immediately threatened .
I bought up 2 girls as my own from ages 2 and 4 and I love them equally as I do our son .
I honestly saw it as a privilege to have an influence in their lives and they regard me as their true Dad .
It was made all that much easier when the other dickhead sperm donor failed to take responsibility from the start . I never ever said a bad word about him in front of the girls . I knew one day they’d work it out for themselves. Anyway I’m glad your son was ok 👍🏼

I'm a bicycler, haven't had a vehicle in 25 years now. I can't count all the times I've had close calls. Ended up on the hood of one guys car, he too was a dick but all he was worried about was not calling the cops, his slurred speech gave him away. I could've really ruined that dudes life if I'd been the vindictive type. Just told him he was an asshole and to get the fuck off the roads before he kills someone. If we were taking bets on how I'd go out, I'd put everything on getting killed on my bike.

good to hear it worked out OK for your son. Sadly it typifies my view of society and why I love being away from it. Imagine the nerve of doing the wrong thing then blaming the person you hurt for your mistake and wanting to physically harm them. Just sums up "civilization" succinctly right now.
