There are backups, I'm not the tech guy so don't know what or if anything can be saved without f ING off other parts of the system. That's something that I know is being worked on though.

Deebs used Rsync for the back up when the server was migrated, so there is like a back up. Depending on the size, I could likely help store one off site.

I have an example in front of me right now with the ongoing shit fight I’m about to engage in ,

I’ve seen first hand in my field of work in around 20 years the change from strong minded upright staunch men who fight for what is fair and no more become a generation of scared yes men who feel they’re compromised if they voice their opinion .
I have no doubt this is going to cost me and likely burden my family even more but I know I have their full support because they understand.
You know mate it would be so much easier to be that don’t ask questions , keep your head down person but I’d be a sell out to what I’ve always stood for .
Now I sound like some righteous freedom fighter nut . That’s not me either . I just struggle to watch on while they smile at you while they’re pulling your feet out from under you .
My father was a very fair man to his workers . Never asked anything he wouldn’t do himself and would give the younger blokes time to find their feet . As he aged he became that wise old head that sat back in his chair and mostly listened.
What I’d give to sit in his company now because I know he’d just listen .

I hate the fact people feel trapped by financial burden and hence selling what they stand for and in all fairness I sort of understand. You need to feed your family and pay for that roof over your head but being a man does come with criteria attached to me .
I’m in no way saying you have to be the tip of the spear because we are all different and I do not enjoy conflict at all but you know and I know and everyone knows when you should stand up .
When somethings not right then it’s not right .
Change the angles , view points whatever . It will still be not right .
I don't know about there, but here it's mostly self-inflicted with the banks encouraging and enabling it. As soon as a guy starts making good money he's expected to go into massive debt to buy a house 3x the required size and a big 4x4 that never leaves the pavement(and quads and a big RV and all sorts of other stuff he'll be too busy paying for to enjoy).
Then when someone with balls looks for support on the job, everybody is too scared to stand up because they need 8 or 10 thousand a month just to break even.
I don't regret leaving that world at all.

Not dissimilar here and I recall @Frosty78 voicing not too long ago society living way beyond its need in many areas as you’ve also described . We had a huge mining boom here several years back and that’s when a lot of us fishermen left the grind to prosper in Western Australia mainly in the heat of the arid N/W Pilbara region . A hostile shithole of a place where they paid you more than well for not only your skills but to tolerate living in that environment.
The older men went to top up their superannuation funds and close out any debts and the young fellas mostly went to facilitate the lifestyle of exactly what’s in their head at the time in life. Basically Cars , Motorbikes , Jet Skis and partying with the babes . Very few had much to show for it afterwards with a few smarter ones seizing the moment .
Many families fell apart due to mainly marriage break ups from being away from home for extended periods .
The seductions of money . It has to be a primary evil on this planet .
