Who's got dentures?

36 here, still got all mine...but I do have a wisdom coming through currently that is almost fully out. That leaves me with a lil flap of gum to rip off soon. I feel like a puppy who wants to chew on something. I come from a long line of white trash and hillbillys though....when I was little my mom said she caught my dad trying to scrub my teeth with comet.
You reminded me, I had a wisdom tooth come in while I was in my 20s. It happened to be at the same time my first kid was teething, so I could definitely empathize with what he was going through. :ROFLMAO:

Man I had to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled yesterday, emergency procedure.
The dentists have been telling me they needed to come out for about 25 years, but you know I didn't listen. One got infected, and the pain was absolutely unreal. It was shooting through the nerves in my neck and face, I had to constantly have water in my mouth to keep the nerve wet. I do manual labor, and I'm very tolerant of pain, but this was on a whole other level.
The oral surgeon who removed the teeth is a military surgeon who works a couple days a month at a private practice. - Dude had both teeth out in 20 minutes, no pain or discomfort at all, just local anesthesia. I have a feeling he pulls wisdom teeth all day on soldiers about to deploy, so this was nothing for him. Squared away professional for sure, even called me last night to make sure I was doing well.
-I had to break out the old Volcano Classic to keep the dry sockets at bay. I fill the bags and squeeze them into my lungs like bag pipes. This morning its Amnesia Haze topped with Durban Poison kif. For my nicotine fix I'm using pouches, instead of a vape. 20231109_062117.jpg

I had a similar experience, kept ignoring my wisdom teeth even though I was told they were impacted and going to be a problem, then one of them got infected and it was absolutely awful.

Unfortunately because of my shitty insurance I had to go to one of those strip mall dental chains and my oral surgeon sucked. Beat the crap out of my jaw and still left a piece behind so I had to go back.

Man I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that. Its crazy how painful and debilitating tooth pain can be. I had a horribly painful extraction done a few years ago by a regular dentist (strip mall as well!) and she also left chunks in there. I think my previous experience made my appreciate how smoothly this one went.

I’ve tried soooo many times to get my girlfriend’s kids to let me yank a loose tooth with one of the Camaros. They are not on board 😒
LOL kids these days bro hahaha. My Grandpa apparently would also use a door in the house, after tying off the floss to a loose tooth, and the other end to the door handle....He'd slam the door shut and pop that shit out quick... LOL.

The infections were easily one of the worst parts of the experience... I remember being on Quebec without insurance and trying to eat, even though a front tooth, couldn't be touched with my tongue without it being excruciating bro.... All that food in Montreal and I was sitting there almost in tears from touching that tooth.... That's when I was like "Fuck this, I'm over it" and grabbed a steak knife. I cleaned it properly, and probably should have taken pictures, because MAN I looked like an extra from a Zombie movie. LOL. Was gross. Blood and Puss EVERYWHERE.... I mean I couldn't get a scalpel, so I just put pressure on my gums, and sliced that thing open, and it was all like "BANG".... Nasty stuff ALL over the bathroom sink, the mirror, and of course, my mouth. Ex walked in to see what was up and I'm pretty sure she almost puked haha.

I didn't even have liquor (Irish Novacaine) on hand, just those shitty Tylenol #1 with Codeine to work through it. Not my proudest moment. haha. Somehow sawing through my own gums hurt less than the damn thing I was cutting open being there.

Reminds me of a story from my ex. Several years before we got together she had a bad abscess and no dental insurance, just Medicaid. She finally decided her only choice was to deal with it herself. She knew a bit about alternative medicine so she prepared a poultice, took out her own tooth with pliers in the bathroom, clamped down on the poultice and passed out on her bed. When she woke up she drove to the urgent care for antibiotics. She grew up as an Army brat with a hardcore, old school sergeant for a dad and that rubbed off on her, no one could accuse her of being a wuss.

Yup, I lanced my own abcess once as well for the same reason, no insurance. Nasty bit of business. Found out from a friend whos a dental hygenist that apparently that can be pretty dangerous but hey, we all survived lol

Ya know, I'm not sure. She was a redhead and knew a fair bit about Celtic culture and even the language.

One more note, there's another reason she had to grow up tough. Her maiden name was Screws. And as an Army brat, she had to change schools several times, and having to go through being the "new kid" each time with that last name.

I just had my sons removed this year. Impacted...and man it was rough...financially.

You can just do two.... and i said no lets do it once.

I am glad we did. The bottom wisdom teeth impact...then the top grown down into the gaps and fuck up the teeth in front...etc etc.

mine came through...i remember suffering through it at 16 and they are a BITCH to floss right !

I have 3 teeth missing in 3 diffrent quarters. but i shoulda got bridges. As you age you really see it.

it sucks that dentists are the legal highway robbers.....want to eat???? 4k !

Yeah, sounds like one of "us" LOL. Tough as a cheap steak and not used to asking for help.

Yeah she was tough, but lacking areas like communication skills and long-term commitment. We were only together a few years. I'm definitely in a much better situation now. :)

While we were together she came across one of her old high school classmates online. The guy said his mother prohibited him from dating her just based on her last name.

I was with an Irish and French Canadian for years and, yeah, I'm in a much better way now :)

Ironically, my better half for the past (nearly) 14 years has French Canadian heritage. I will say though, out of her family, she's the only one I'd even think of considering. Just consider her the black sheep, but in a good way.
We began our relationship just weeks before I got my cancer diagnosis, and she's been there every step of the way. And while she has faced her own significant challenges, I've been there for her as well.
