Very nice glassware - an Irish spacewoman, I presume? ?

Curious what's in your glass @Gentlemancorpse - going out on a limb and guessing Florens....
An excellent guess, but its Patina actually! I like a nice, classic pale ale in my black and tans.

I didnt even intend to go this fancy but I stopped at a package store thats changed hands since I was last there and theyve gone full on beer hipster lol. It was all tall cans and mostly sours or IPAs.

Is it inspiration, or peer pressure...? ?

Had to dig into the fridge for a brew tonight.
Offerings were lean, and definitely not Irish.

Been sitting on this one for a couple weeks.
A little apprehensive about the Catnip.
Ultimately, tasted like a classic Saison, with some Tangerine flavors.

So that Bourbon looked good, and being Irish, I can tell you that it's very acceptable lol.

Uncle B drinking from a Cat Dispensary?? I feel conflicted because it's probably good, and knowing full well a beer with kittens on it would have me pulling money out too lol.... awwww it's pawing at a Strawberry!

Decided to have something other than a Hazy IPA.
The hops listed lured me in.
Honestly, it was a little light.

Now - the graphic on the can compels me to ask: Do you really think the moon is 238,000 miles away? Think of the detail you can see, including the Tycho Crater, which we're told is 50 miles across. Do you REALLY think you could see a 50 miles diameter object 238,000 miles away?

I was low-key testing if our buddy @Amarok even taps into this thread.... and he FAILED!!! ?
I failed.

But at least I recognized my surroundings when I woke up, I could find my glasses, and there were no awkward introductions to my bed-mate, all things that weren't guaranteed back when beer and I were pals. ;)

This beer was the "420" release from local brewery Pueblo Vida.

Here's what they had to say about it:

"Style: Hazy IPA collaboration w/ Tripping Animals Brewing Co (Doral, FL)

Tasting Notes: Bright Pineapple, Lemon Zest, Sweet Tropical Fruit

Hops: El Dorado and Mosaic"

Unc's take: really good, but nothing about it really stands out.

The Toad graphic is interesting. Have been extended an offer to smoke some venom this year from a colleague who's really into it. I'm thinking.....'maybe'.

I'm totally over hazies; doesn't take much talent to do them well, novel at best, production-side they're a huge ffuckin' hassle to make and they're slowly falling outta fashion, but one once in a while isn't gonna hurt. I do love El Dorado and this latest crop of Mosaic is ? .

On that note, I'm drinking Natty, my go-to. I love craft beer but it's impossible to be best a cold Natty Light to me. Difficult style from an execution standpoint, one of those easy to do, difficult to master kinda things. Anyone can make a corn-barley beer but good luck being drinkable by the gallon.

There was a very brief period in time where the Brut IPA was taking off.
Every so often, one would pop up that was super dry, and the hops really came forward.
Hazy blew everything else off the map. Can't deny the popularity. Maybe it's the sweetness?

As for hops, like you, I'm a big fan of Mosaic, and the New Zealand grown Nelson seems to really stand out when it shows up in the local brews.

Ever tried the Two Hearted Ale ? It's a Michigan made Beer and has a LOVELY flavor to it. Hops come through soooooo nice. There's another one I legit can't remember the name of..... I'll have to check next time I'm at the store, but it's an IPA, and instead of just hops, they used the "resin of the hops plant" to make it, and yes, the hash / Kief like parts transfer to the flavor... I've compared Hops to weed before, and given how they are cousins, the Kief part being used made sense to me. Literally tasted like resin beer. It was nice!

I have enjoyed the Two Hearted - it's just as wonderful as you describe.
Even gave the Light Hearted a try last year - I bet you remember that now.

I enjoy a nice hazy IPA but this is usually my take when I try a new one these days. No ones really improved on the format in ages.

I may have mentioned it, but Im also spoiled rotten on that front, I lived in VT when the Alchemist started brewing Heady Topper. I was drinking hazy IPAs before they coined the term lol. Most have just been rip offs of tbay first wave. The last time a Hazy IPA really blew me away was Bissell Brothers Swish and that came out a decade ago.

Im big on lagers these days. People are starting to build on some of the Czech and German styles near me now and Im really enjoying seeing a bigger variety around. Seeing some craft Mexican/Latin American style brews too which is fun.
