So radishes were popped on 5/12 and they are already coming in?? That's gotta be a new record speedwise....at least around here...My june bearers strawbs are also coming in...wtf...those are week three in june usually and are already been picked a bit.
Hopefully this trend carries thru to my herb plants :)

I love those radishes........these are french breakfasts and then easter egg radishes(rear),. I got cherry belles and German giants elsewhere.

I've got a couple weeks on radishes. Probably another month spring onion. Peas and beans kicking on, broccoli, last harvest then flower seed bolt on first bunch while rest get to first harvest. Just planted out more broccoli, cabbage, spring onion, lettuce, red and brown onions and more peas, snow peas, broad beans. My habanero is still throwing last of its fruit. Thinking about digging out and potting up and.bringing inside to keep warm before spring.

I've grown Habenero a lot and one year, I had it in a spot just in the back yard and kept turning the pot every few days or so, and I noticed that year there was a distinct super sweet flavor in them that wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. I'm not sure if it was just the odd light deprivation or what but they came out REALLY sweet that year.

Got some too. When do you pull yours @Willie? That's just funny right there ? and what do you do with them?
My soil is mostly clay and quarts. I mainly planted as a companion to my squash. (Supposed to help keep squash bugs away)

I pick them as soon as they bulb up enough......and they are snacks! Eat most the day they are picked. I have another planter next to those 2 that has lettuce starts and as the radishes get harvested, I transplant some lettuce sprouts.............eventually they will hold all lettuce.

Not sure what is going on? I am trying to get off the propane heater, maybe it's getting too cool? The prolonged sulfur burn due to timer failure?

Oh man....vegetables are catching up well.

Snow Peas are going to be all over...actually Oregan Sugar Peas but they are snow peas here...they never make it inside i eat them by the handfuls..and this year i planted 4 X 7 gallon planters and 2 X 15s with a bunch of them,

Tomatoes kicked into overdrive with the rain we have had the last 3 days. Yellow and Green Zuchinis in the 5 gallon planters are producing (little tiny zuchs already growing).

The only part of my garden suffering are the 4 x 4 beds... My Dog can jump the entire fence and goes in there...she thinks its funny....then yesterday she had this evil glint in her eye and ripped up a corn stalk and chewed it all up while i was chasing her....

I think my extra maters and peppers are going in there...the 3 sisters garden has been trumped by 1 sandy border retriever ! (Border collie golden retriever).

This year is going to be better than last year for my veg...i learned each year...expanded this year and will probably do it again next year. The price of food and the joy of growing....well the price is just a bonus.

Growing food...it triggers something in your brain to fill you with endorphins. Weed too...just growing...

Because I don't think there is bitter growing....well shit maybe...i try and grow fire in veg and weed.

Oh and i have some strains.... they call them heirlooms... :D Opalkas willie...German Johnsons. Some peppers too... and the seeds repeat repeat repeat...

I still look at the remaining 3 X 1/2 pound bags of davis peas....man next year i am planting a bunch of them!

:D

Thanks for the pic of the garlic scapes. You reminded me to plant the garlic last fall and I have never grown it successfully until this time. No scapes yet but I figure we are about 1 to 2 weeks behind you (you are so far south :D )

my "bush" peas have already scaled the 4' fence............this is why I got "bush peas, lol....precious few peas on there so far..and they look like snaps not shell peas....somebody at Burpee passed the doob in the wrong direction I think...but I'll eat whatever they make... just sucks I'm the last to know, lololol

Not a single pole bean planted in the soil has made it, no sunflowers either.........that spells rabbits......but I have separate 10g's for pole beans....they don't eat them cause they can't scale the pot...........only way I get any. Both plants, once they get to 1'.....they leave them alone.
