Well, color ol' Hughie a fool this morning. Shee-it. You'd think I'd be used to it by now, but not really.

Failure to adequately vet internet info has caused me to kill my seeds by using a way too strong a peroxide mix when soaking, pre-germ. I usually try to double or triple check online weed info, but not this time. Seems as though I must've used 4x the strength of solution. At least that's what I'm guessing has happened, because I've never had much of a problem with seedlings before. Only 3 are above ground, and only 1 looks particularly happy about it. A new phenomenon for me. I dug around in a couple of cups, looking for clues, and some of them look frizzle-fried and some of them just looked kind of like empty husks.

Time to regroup, pop some more beans, and try to learn something from it. I know it's not the end of the world, but I'm still a noob and a poor one at that, and losing plants and seeds is still something I'm trying to get used to.

If this is not a thing, improperly diluted H2O2, please let me know. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Thanks, G - that was the only variable I could think of, so now I'm stumped.
Glad I didn't fry them, but I wonder what did?
When I go back, I do see where the breeder of a lot of these said he had had trouble with seedlings, so maybe???
Then again, a couple of them are a strain I've grown 3 times w/o incident.
Oh, well - new beans soaked and in the towels now. Learn what I can, and move forward.

nice they look good and healthy i think i got more of them in my stash if needed (y)

Man, I'm glad to see you back. Hope it's all good your way.

I grow for a small group of dudes that I was in the service with, and they are effing nuts about your Mountain Berries and LSD strains that I grew out.
My best bud says, and I quote - "Mountain Berries - All I can say is "Squirrel!" Man, I was out there for a good while. I savor this one."

This winter has been a weird one for Ol' Hughie. I decided, mostly just on a whim, to try and make some seeds, as I have previously made a deal with the wifey not to flower anything out for a while. Still can't imagine what it must be like to live in a legal state. Anyway, I'm having odd shit happen that I've never had happen before. Killed off a tray of seedlings - a first! - due to some soil pathogen. OK. Weird, but OK. I guess.

Now, I seem to be growing... HOPS??? I guess trying to avoid driving 50 miles to get FFOF has opened me up to some new experiences. Totally something that I've never seen before. Three of my cups have a second plant growing in them. One just looked like a blade of grass, so I trashed it, but look at these two. I've run a plant identifier or 2 on them and Hops seems possible. Going to send pic to botanist buddy to try and ID wtf this is.

I'm beginning to think I'm paying the price now for entering into a project all half-assed and by the seat of my pants. Also thinking I may try and move from soil into hempy buckets this year. Georgia is fucked for soil anyway - it has to contain a large percentage of pine products, because the state is run by GeorgiaPacific lumber. Starting to get a little spun out here.

Anyway, I've taken the liberty of expressing my current mood pictorially.
