Jars vs Bags

I guess the difference is i used the grove bags...And i have used smelly proof bags and up until the bags..mason jars for life.

It works better than zips or smelly proof. And you can put in damper buds in a grove..with no rotting ammonia problems.

So far i have broken 6 jars...i still find glass and the last one was 6 months ago...Grove for the WIN.

Mason jars are fine they just take up too much space in the 14 gallon tote...It holds more in the tote and everything.

LED was dumb for a long time too....HPS was king.
Nice. What size bags are you using?

the half pound size. They are ideal for me because usually run a pair of a strain to try them anyway. And then they fit in the grove bag.
Yeah, theoretically that sounds about ideal for me as well if I concentrate on running one or two keeper strains. I could see splitting a unit between two bags for long term cure and jar the remainder the old fashioned way for my daily smoke till I needed to crack open a bag.

I had forgotten about this thread. When I purchased them way back first of the year, (is it really Thanksgiving week? Already?) the only size I could find was 4x8" which will hold an oz of dried but tight so I'm still using but very limited and still using buckets and large plastic coffee containers. I haven't even looked or thought about bags since but I guess it's time to revisit the subject?

Who else has made the switch either completely or partly and how's it going?

My last harvest I used Grove bags. I find them just as good as jars plus the added space saving. My wife likes that they don't clang together loudly while I'm grabbing buds as she sleeps. I will probably eventually migrate over to bags alone.

Even though I've got them and this size would be perfect for autos or what I've got near the tray I'm still using jars. I'm going to try the bags for the rest of the year and do a comparison between both. I remember being so happy I was able to amas a nice glass collection at all the thrift stores in town several years ago ? until I expanded my grows?

I'll start making 1/2 oz bags (these are half oz, not full, my bad) of everything currently curing in plastic and replacing these

this week. I may keep 1 for J's as I'm still searching for a good cigarette box.

I can easily do some side by side comparisons as the new crop of 8 plants get chopped within the next 2 weeks at most. Fun times? I hate trimming and manicuring?

No idea on shipping costs but $35-40 total price wouldn't be bad and I could forget about buckets? Hummmmm...

But GLASS FOREVER? Damn I love my jars?
Damn, my hydro store sells grove bags for a dollar fifty each, one dollar for the knock-off brand.

That alone is the primary reason why mate. Happy wife happy life. Mines a beauty, but you wake them up unexpectedly in the middle of her sleep.....well I'd rather be walking half cut up an alley at 3am in metro melb. And you know nothing good happens outside at 3am lol.

We just ordered some more of the one pound bags like yesterday as we're almost out, and they have a coupon where you get a bunch of freebie bags for anyone interested.

In my experience from last season; As long as the buds are properly dried, they go in and pretty much do well. and as pointed out, the space saving is nice too.

Apparently I forgot just how much I've moved into bags. Oh my. In the reg gal bags that's ChemGopher (Brutis OG x Chemdawg 2016) Magnum Flames auto and Funky Runt auto. In the new bags a lot of BBHP, Gorilla Hammer, GDP of course, Captain's Candy, Black Abyss and even a few grams of Gherry and T99 from Feb, last winter. I don't dare look in all the cans that are full and need to be bagged and tagged. I'm going to be infusing a LOT of coconut oil. ? since I grow in coconut coir it seems most fiting?

1/4 pound size fit in my foodsaver and the 1/2 pound does not.

I am getting some 1/4 pound bags next week
I just ordered 10 of the 1/4 bags, good to hear they fit in a food saver although I use a Big Game vac sealer which would likely fit 1/2lb as well.

I’m interested to see how these Grove bags work! I’ve got 2-3lbs hanging to dry as we speak. Merry Christmas to me

I'm starting to move flower to grove bags now. We've got quart and half gallon mason jars full of flower every flipping where in our house, we've got to do something differant lol. Not to mention my stock of tinctures I've been gathering up and saving.

Since I come from a family that canned food, I've always been around Mason Jars. I do own one case of the Golden Harvest jars, but found out I really did not like the slim opening. So when Ma, passed away back 2009, no one wanted all the canning stuff...it was treasure to me.
So I'm a jar guy, for 20+ years now.
We have mucho hand me down canning supplies, 3 canners included.
Yes a very large blessing!

I moved to the large plastic coffe cans. Food grade and hold a couple oz's and 3 gal buckets. Insane. The bags, and I can fit a oz in those black bags are great. No issues and will purchase larger ones.

We too have a Food Saver. Love it as we got a 9cf freezer and purchase as much marked down meats as possible and in bulk as avaliable. Haven't used it on the weed bags but may start and have never sealed any weed. It seems so permanent in a way. I don't know, I'm weird.

But YES, these new bags are killer and I'll continue to move curing smoke to the bags. Everything is getting a great cure here with our cold dry nights, bag, jar or coffee can?
